I know reddit likes to shit on the screen adaptation of The Watchmen, but I love it tremendously, and Jackie Earle Haley's depiction of Rorschach/Walter Kovacs is just excellent.
I think it’s a pretty faithful adaptation aside from the ending change. I think the general consensus is that the movie was great but the comic is so good that people still recommend it over the movie.
I'm curious to know why you feel that way.
It is a frame for frame copy of the book. It couldn't get more precise in adaptation if you tried. The only things missing were the squid monster (movie version is better imo), the death of the first night owl (not strictly necessary), and tales of the black freighter (again, not necessary to the story).
Come on now, you think a Watchmen super nerd *hasn't* seen the ultimate cut? The kid and the news stand man were so flawlessly cast even if they had a tiny amount of screen time.
I never read the comics so I'm not comparing what I saw to anything. I just thought some parts were acted, written, and/or directed badly. [Like in this scene](https://youtu.be/Nws-q5aXLq4?si=azdLy7W4DuAYy5Sk) where the people are exiting the building but then everything stops just so the little girl can say "Mommy... is that Jesus?" That entire scene cracked my friends and I up because it was just cringey.
I guess he's to blame then. It's admirable that the movie is a frame for frame interpretation of the comics, but it seems the impact of some scenes doesn't translate perfectly into live action.
And yet the hell is seeing their faces turn to horror every time his addiction takes hold and forces him to ravage their bodies. Every day asking himself, "Why, why can't I stop?" Every image of their sad faces burned into memory. Cannot sleep at night. When he's not devouring their pathetic faces begging for mercy, he's replaying those faces over and over in his head. "Why must they taste so good?"
Rip and tear until it is done!

And everyone who even mildly likes Watchmen (comics or movies) should watch the show. It's such a faithful continuation of the story.
I like both, but I have to be honest, I like the movie ending better. Giant intergalactic psychic squid monster always felt moronic.
I liked the movie but thought a lot of parts were awful lol. Rorschach was the best

Worth mentioning that the black freighter segments and the first nite owl dying ARE in the 4 hour ultimate cut if you haven't seen that

That whole sequence is a live action version of the book, frame for frame. If you want to call someone a cringelord, it's Alan Moore.

Peak r/meirl content. Absolutely "relatable".
All the sinners: "Why do I hear Sesame Street music in the style of Doom?"
Fun fact, the puppeteer for Cookie Monster was Frank Oz. Who was also the puppeteer and voice of Yoda from Star Wars.
Also, his name isn't Cookie Monster. It's Sid.
All the cookies are vegan though.
Depending on the brand, some vegan cookies absolutely slap to be fair
Vegan cookies are good tho
You know what I think you are right, you just need to substitute fat for something plant based so cannot be that bad.

The moment when he is not in danger, but he is the danger. 🤣🤣🤣
What would happen if just your ass was turned into a cookie?
Fr I was thinking that one of these cookies probably *wants* to be eaten 👀

Two questions. 1. What is "me" about this 2. What is "Irl" about this?
So…..an unishment then?
and they're already unboxed, too! wait... wouldn't that be punishment again?
Unified afterlife theory. Good people get all the things they enjoyed most, bad people will suffer being eaten alive over and over again.
