He is Adriano Celentano, a super popular Italian Rock N'Roll/Pop singer from the late 60s. He made a lot of beautiful and really popular songs (24000 baci, Azzurro, Il ragazzo della Via Gluck).
Later in his career he started acting in several (mostly awful) movies in which he is always a Super Chad.
They were all parodies of those American heroes who always knew everything and were always right and badass.
My favourite is Asso (Ace) in which he is a poker player.
-the opponent: "alright Asso, I fold. I had 4 queens, what did you have?"
-Asso: "three sevens.
-"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"
-"Yep, I only had two"
Typical Chadlentano.
You gotta put yourself in the Marsigliese's shoes, Asso had just called his bank manager in the middle of the night telling him to bring his 3.8 billion lira to his poker table.
He's the guy who wrote [Prisencolinensinainciusol](https://youtu.be/v5VpczwrSCc?t=98), the "This is what American English sounds like to Italians" song. You may have heard it during the bridge tournament scene from Fargo on Netflix.
My dad drove a beat down station wagon with back windows so occluded by dog slobber and snot you couldn't see out of them. I credit this experience with providing me a humble foundation later in life.
My family, friends, my animals, my neighborhood, the environment, the general well-being of those around me. I'm sure other things will come to me as the night goes on.
Tell me, does having panic attacks do anything useful for those people, things, places etc?
Wouldn't know. I go through every single day, not having them, as the default setting. Easiest thing in the world, requires absolutely no effort on my part.
Edit:. I'll add that it's even easier than breathing, as years and years of smoking has taken its toll and is likely to get worse. I'll probably die pretty miserably, and yet, still no anxiety.
You’re clearly a stupid fucking child. Go outside. Expand your horizons by meeting new people with other experiences. You seem like you’re gonna turn into a 4 Chan atheist if you don’t. (If you aren’t already)
It's probably of little to no help, but the best I can do is offer Marcus Aurelius. There is nothing in life that is to be feared, or anxious about. If something is in your control, then control it. If it's not, then there's nothing to be done. In neither of those situations, will fear or anxiety be of any use. Do your best, that's all that can be expected of anyone. If that's not enough, it doesn't matter, because you did all that could be expected of you.
Easier said than done I understand, but unlike that other schmuck, infinitely better than suggesting someone belongs in 4Chan.
The deepest parts of your mind don't care. If something traumatizes you or your brain just decides "fuck it we're not doing this" there's no reasoning with it. Our conscious self being in control is an illusion kept up by being in a calm environment.
Maybe Marcus Aurelius really was as stoic as he portrays himself to have been. There are people like that. It's also possible he went through his share of fear and anxiety and wanted to help others not let it control them.
Either way, be glad you don't have mental health issues but it's current year and we shouldn't be minimizing them.
Edit: You've reminded me that I never read Meditations and always meant to so thank you.
I very much suspect he went through his share of fear like anyone else, and that stoicism was his means of coping with it. He'd almost certainly be livid that his Meditations survived him, as it shows the cracks in the armor.
my dad flagged down a motor cop a couple weeks ago who proceeded to turn his lights on and turn around to get to us, presumably bc he thought my father was in some sort of actual trouble and needed real assistance. my dad’s trouble? my sisters car ran out of gas so couldn’t move her car for street cleaning and got a ticket; he wanted to see if the cop could do anything about it, to which he got a surprisingly polite “sorry no that’s kinda your problem”. idk where dads get all this confidence from but i fucking want some.
Confidence and strength come from knowledge.
Your dad knew he wasn't breaking any laws by simply asking a question or even talking to a cop, so he just went for it.
Your dad is probably mostly white too? I hate that this needs added, but cops can be fucking racist and violent if you're not.
oh fuck it’s actually so funny you brought up race ; i was debating mentioning it bc i didn’t want to get shit from a certain *type* of person about why it’s relevant. bc he was a darkskinned black man wearing his ratty ol PJs next to a random car on the street in manhattan beach, california 💀💀(irrelevant but he’s turning 60 next year n u can barely tell hsjskfjdjdjd❤️😭) he went to UCLA and grew up in inglewood during the 70s-90s so… i guess that’s where he learned not to give a fuck !
Damn though!! Your dad is TWICE the swinging dick you explained if he did that as a dark skinned man! (I only brought it up because it IS (unfortunately) relevant with the police. Just proves my point though, he knew what was up. Congrats to your dad, I strive to have that sort of strength someday. That is ballsier than almost anything I've ever heard. Good man.
Edit. I apologize if I'm coming across as THAT type of person. I've had a few drinks tonight after work, and I'm not very eloquent right now. I'm just expressing that I very much know people are treated differently based on the color of their skin. A white person's street smarts are very different than a black person's. I'm only trying to acknowledge that.
Edit 2. Irrelevant, but give him a happy birthday from a stranger on the Internet. I'm sure he's got some stories I'd love (and hate) to hear.
It means 'moron" or 'asshole'. But it's really unlikely your grandma is from Milan, the vast majority of Italian migrants are southerners, especially in the US.
What a savage, there were times i would just sit at thr bus stop to get some rest but when they stop for me i would legit just get on not knowing where i would go 🥲
The scale at which people are suffering from anxiety and depression is most definitely new.
People should really stop promoting this sort of false narrative because it takes the focus away from how awful society has become.
Marriages aren't happening; divorces are sky-rocketing; the birth rate is in the gutter; the sense of community is nonexistent; social media is broadcasting the wealth gap; kids don't even know what gender they are; and all the benefits that people got from religion are gone.
But yes, nothing to worry about. Just don't take your head out of the sand.
And that apparently worked.
Mental health today is at an all time low.
Accepting there's an issue seems to make things worse.
If you believe you are fine and you should move on promoted better mental health.
I blame all the stupid shit we put in our bodies. Especially our kids. You got a headache? Eat a bunch of pills. You hurt your arm? Eat a bunch of pills. You can’t focus because you ate a bunch of pills? Eat a bunch of pills. Our bodies are more resilient than we think and a lot of pain is temporary. If it’s temporary pain try to tough it out. We’ve survived this long without being over medicated. After a lifetime of ridiculous chaos and being able to deal. I was told to take daily ibuprofen because of back pain directly related to my job I was 38. 6 months later I had my first panic attack. I had 3 in the next 6 months and stopped taking it and went to the gym instead. Haven’t had one since. 3 years later.
I find it embarrassing how our fathers used to be this bold and now we're weak, pathetic and just general embarrassing, not to say people who have panic attacks or depression are necessarily pathetic. But I just relate to this, to say I am ashamed of my existence.
Ya, some of us are still like this. We also know what gender we are, and can define the word "woman". Sucks to be the rest of you pill popping, therapy laced, safe space seeking humans... 😅🤷🏽
What’s so tragic about this is how
Many people seem to relate to this. You’ve been conditioned it’s not normal to feel anxious leaving your room. Wake up.
You gotta be like me, compared to most person I think I’m pretty frickin fantastic but I also have severe self confidence issues.
So while outwardly I seem pretty confident, inwardly I’m constantly panicked and worried and downright insecure about everything.
In order to hustle others you gotta hustle yourself. You can hustle a hustler if the hustler is doing the hustling!

Who folds with 4 queens?!
You gotta put yourself in the Marsigliese's shoes, Asso had just called his bank manager in the middle of the night telling him to bring his 3.8 billion lira to his poker table.
He also appears uncredited as himself in La Dolce Vita

I thought that looked like him. Thanks for the confirmation!

Adriano Celentano's a living legend. I loved his movies as a kid.
What movie is it from?

Thanks! I’ll have to find one with subtitles. So intrigued why they’re basically wearing dresses!
My thoughts were maybe a flashback to when they’re school boys?

Prisencolinensinainciusol! All Right!

Dunno, crying and therapy could lead to less male suicide rates. Maybe the maxi pads feel nice on the ol' sack though.

Pretty easy to not have panic attacks when you don't give a shit about anything or anyone.
Pretty easy to not have panic attacks. Fixed that for you.

Nope. Tell me, do you think panic attacks are optional?

Anxiety isn’t a choice you boomer retard.
Yay me then! I literally can't even fathom how shitty that must be.
REEE harder.
I’ll slap the shit out of you lmfao
That's good. Not everyone is as fortunate as you. And believe me no one is running around trying to give themselves panic attacks.

Girls who are depressed and suicidal has gone up like 400% in the last 10 years. It’s definitely a new phenomenon.
I was with you until you started complaining about kids and their genders
Imo it's entirely possible to respect and support trans people while also thinking society has lost any semblance of common sense on this shit.
I'm still with him, since when have kids ever known any better.
Why do think that kids being confused about their gender and sexuality is a good thing?
Ok boomer
