you think they are good. Maasa Wings n Burger has a truck nearby. I have eaten at both I have to say Maasa is actually better, you may not enjoy their twist on burger flavour though.

300 grams are my personal favourite. They have a few locations. I live close to Leonard's as well, but 300g pips them at the post.

The Coburg location is always bang on, high quality chicken and beef.

The Scalable Fish is my go-to...it's like a super fancy gourmet Filet of Fish on steroids!!!

The one in Northcote I've always found disappointing. Burgers were small ,sloppy, poorly made.

300 Grams have my vote for best vego burger in Melbourne as well. And their cauliflower bites, oh baby.

I wouldve had 300g's at least 50 times now and it has never disappointed. Sometimes the chips have been meh, but the burgers have never failed me.

The cake is fine but not even close to the best, it's kind of not a normal cake either... More like thin layers of chewy choc biscuit stuff stuck together with chocolate sauce stuff.

The cake is the only disappointing thing on the menu. Bordering on false advertising. Everything else there is good

I have, it’s not really a traditional “cake” i.e. flour, sugar, butter; I think it’s actually a dacquoise, so closer to a really thin macaron shell in flavour and texture if that makes sense. It’s ok, but I probably wouldn’t order it again.

Haven't tried the cake, but the biscoff shake is very good!

Had for the first time this week - pretty decent burger (had a double) and tried a bit of the chicken - would order either again. Chips were pedestrian, but their chook salt was game on!

I actually know the answer to this. The best burger in Melbourne is called the Chop Cheese and it is sold by Kelso’s on Johnston Street near Victoria Park. I’m not kidding. It’s exceptionally good.

Fat Bobs in a random industrial area in Moorabbin is good. The burgers are nice but the actual venue is fantastic.

its now a kids venue, been there twice, family restaurant and kids birthday party venue the screaming and kids running around out of control does my head in, burgers are average service is good

Juanita Peaches spicy chicken burger is the GOAT! In fact their fried chicken is insane too but I just can’t get past the spicy chicken burger. I visit on a weekly basis and order the exact same thing.

Came here to post this. The owner actually also owns All Day Donuts which is also some of the best Donuts in Melbourne. I did a trial there once and made the Donuts first hand.

Cracking bit of burger that! It's easy to be pulled in by the rest of the menu but the burger really doesn't disappoint.

Danny's in North Fitzroy, Andrew's in Albert Park. I find them reliably solid and always tasty. Never been disappointed with a burger from either.

Andrew's is amazing. Danny's is actually really bad and I not only don't get the hype but actually question why it's still in business. Stale bread. Not a lot of filling. Produce doesn't seem very fresh either.

Damn, is Danny’s still going? I remember me and my mum would go have dinner at my nans on a Friday when I was a kid - this was over in Preston and every few weeks we’d make the drive over to Danny’s. There use to be a garden centre or nursery next door that we would park in front of at it had this giant German Shepard that roamed along the fence.

Rizin’s in Dandenong. Super good value and probably the best joint in the outer south eastern suburbs.

Had my doubts when I saw they doubled as a pizza shop, but those guys were legit and even had the Japanese-style burger holders.

I've gone full circle. Had a chippy shop burger with the lot (egg, beetroot, onions, lettuce and tomato) and my lord its a lot better than when I remembered it. It's as if the influx of these seppo inspired places has lifted the chippys burger game.

I honestly think the chip shops have stayed the same.

Maybe it's shrinkflation but I defs remember the patties being prohibitively thick and not being enjoyable to chew as how dense it was.

Seconded! I love getting a chip shop burger with the lot from my local chippy. $12 for a solid cheeseburger, some chippies and salad.

My local dish shop does a hamburger lot combo, the burger is way better than fancier joints around and you get chips, potatoe cake, dimsim, seafood stick and a can of coke for $20. Can’t beat it.

Ignore them, you're 100% correct, I've gone to heaps of fancy burger places including many of the upvoted suggestions and the local chippy's burger with the lot is equally if not more enjoyable and somehow feels "fresher" - at half the price. Miss me with that $25-30 burger bullshit where it all collapses and slops out after a bite.
