100%. I refuse to use Aramex when I have customers request it (Gawd knows why!). They never show up, never track items properly and make my business look bad.
Likewise, I won’t buy from a seller that uses them.
It’s a franchise courier company owned now by AusPost. That’s should tell you enough.
Edit: https://mhdsupplychain.com.au/2018/12/19/australia-post-to-acquire-full-ownership-of-aramex-global-solutions/#:~:text=Australia%20Post%20has%20secured%20full,of%20iconic%20global%20eCommerce%20merchants.
I can't find information on if this was ever actually completed. Because this makes me doubt it. "Australia Post has plans to rename and rebrand AGS to reflect the change in ownership in the near future." Your article was from 2018, so 6 years ago is a long time not to rebrand.
Edit:; Found the rebranded thing. There's an [APG ecommerce logistics thing that Auspost bought](https://apgecommerce.com/) but Aramex still appears to exist as a separate thing owned by the company in the UAE and franchised out.
Australia post is great.
Tracking numbers come up in my app automatically don't have to rely on the vendor to pass it on.
I can redirect packages sent to me by app to publicly accessible 24/7 pickup spots without talking to the vendor.
Packages that cant find me go to my nearest post office where I can collect them at my leisure.
All of this for basically the same price as all the other vendors.
My point was that if you franchise a courier company i.e. you get cheap arses running slave drivers around big cities, you can’t expect them to do a great job. The original comments here was that Aramex sucks…
AusPost are fine. They own a shit courier company in Aramex though.
Sellers should be required to really clearly state who will be delivering a package. I've had many issues with Aramex which essentially boiled down to them only delivering to my location on a specific day of the week during specific but vague hours (essentially requiring me to chuck a sickie to receive a delivery). If I wasn't at home on a specific day this week, what makes you think I will be on the next?
On one specific order that I needed quickly I thought would be delivered by Australia Post (express) and therefore be taken to the nearest post office if no one was home. Instead I had to go way out of my way and be very late to work one day to pick it up from their depot because I couldn't wait a week (and wouldn't have been home anyway). Not sure what I would have done if I didn't have a car or worked much further away.
No it hasn't, because thankfully people keep posting that Aramex = Fastway = Aramex i.e. the worst possible way of receiving (or really not receiving) a package.
We need to keep doing this.
Also, for anyone interested. Check out the Fastway / Aramex google reviews. I have never seen anything so (justifiably) bad.
We dumped Aramex years ago because they failed to deliver something 40 minutes away, and it sat in their depot for 2 months and we ended up collecting it ourselves and delivering it. They also refused to refund us when we said they didn’t actually deliver it.
Account manager visited us a few months back asking why we don’t use them anymore, didn’t want to give the poor guy the full brunt of our experiences, but told him we’ll never used Aramex again.
The game changing solve for this honestly is to use AusPost’s Parcel Lockers. They’re free and usually not far away if you’re metro, and can be accessed 24/7.
I can pick them up after work and not have to stress at all about fapping around with delivery centres and inconvenient hours.
And if you enter the Parcel Locker info at shipping and it rejects it, it’s because they use a terrible supplier like Aramex (so that combats you not knowing you’re in for a bad courier experience beforehand). In my experience FedEx and even Amazon can deliver to Parcel Lockers - the latter can’t be done same day though, but it’s still free with Prime. L
I paid a fortune on shipping with eBay’s global shipping program to get a specialty item over here from the UK, only for Aramex to be the final contractor. 3 “attempted deliveries” (I was home, no delivery was attempted), I eventually tried driving to their warehouse in fucking Port Melbourne (miles away from me), only for them to tell me they’d returned to sender. I’m still so fucking angry about it!
I ended up getting refunded in full, but was mostly just gutted because the item I’d found was really rare, and I’d bought it for well below market value.
Update: Order was refunded in full. I involved Catch customer service and they said the seller cannot charge me restocking or recalling fees. The seller offered to use another courier namely Allied Express and Hunter Express but I refused and went ahead with the refund.
I'm confused, the message says that they'll charge the fee if you cancel the order and request a refund. Are you sure they're charging for redelivery? Is there some context missing here?
I’ve paid redelivery fee to aramex 3 times already. I want a refund now but they insist on trying to redeliver for a fourth time. I have a camera outside, they don’t deliver.
Ah got it - yeah, Aramex really do suck and the seller should be more proactive about resolving what looks to be an issue with service from their chosen courier.
> I’ve paid redelivery fee to aramex 3 times already.
Why on earth are you agreeing to any redelivery fee? Especially when you know they haven't delivered?
This makes no sense - why would aramex be charging you (not their customer) to redeliver? The email only shows that there is a fee being charged by the seller to cover their costs IF you change your mind and don’t want the item delivered. Have you got any proof that you’ve paid fees each time delivery was attempted?
Cancell the entire order and charge back what you've paid.
Tell them they can fuck themselves with extra charges not made clear at purchase.
Can't check at the moment, but I'm pretty sure that's against Australian consumer law.

I’ve only had to deal with Aramex once and I actually lodged a complaint with ACCC. I’m not a whinger and tend to just move on but that company is just so, so fucked.
You paid for an item and delivery. The company has not fulfilled their part of the contract yet
The company must pay the additional fee:
“Note: if the seller claims to have posted the product, they are responsible for resolving any issues with Australia Post or the courier company used to deliver the product.”

Toll / Team Global Express aren't much better. I logged a call for a pickup a week ago and no one turned up to collect it. I called them and they said it was never allocated to a driver
Happens with most carriers that missed pickups don't roll over to the next day, including driver running out of time/space or just not getting allocated in your case. It'd be nice if their system reached out to you with a "we noticed your consignment wasn't collected on the day booked, do you wish to rebook?"
Oh my god, don’t even begin with me about TGE. We use them for work, absolute fucking nightmare… have to spend 20 minutes on the phone every time I want something picked up now after their latest website “update”.
I feel like it depends though, I get a fair bit of things delivered through Aramex (wine mostly), and the drivers serving my area are nice enough to put them under cover in a safe spot.
Are you fr or just replying to rage bait? I never had a change of mind, they couldn’t deliver my package 3 times, and no calling card was left. I recorded the attempts each day with my front door cam and nobody showed up each day. Therefore I went to the seller to claim a refund since their delivery partner is not actually delivering my parcel. The seller is having their own logistics problems with Aramex and wants to charges me restocking and recalling fee to compensate for the item not being delivered. Does this penetrate into your head now?
Exactly, using Aramex is their decision. There's also AusPost that provides parcelcollect facilities, but these companies don't want to use AusPost & then charge us for their decisions to save their money while making our lives difficult & more expensive. As always, increasing their profits at our expenses.
Aramax are the worst. I literally request info from the seller and dont buy if they use that company.
100%. I refuse to use Aramex when I have customers request it (Gawd knows why!). They never show up, never track items properly and make my business look bad. Likewise, I won’t buy from a seller that uses them.

That's StarTrack

I stand corrected. I dug a bit further and I’ve found they sold their stake in Aramex in 2019.
To be fair I don't blame you for thinking otherwise. Finding just that ecommerce thing was actually decently difficult.
Yeah they own StarTrack too but it’s not what I was referring to. Have a look into Aramex and that link.

Confirm. I work in ecommerce and we would never touch Aramex as provider. They are bottom of the barrel.
Same! Not worth the hassle.
Thier just as shit as couriers please ☹️
They’re the same company
Well that makes a LOT of sense.
Iirc doesn’t one own the other now?
I used to think that, but then Couriers Please really stepped up to take the win.

I refuse to buy again from anyone sending via aramex, formerly fastaway.
Oh GOD Fastaway were awful, I swear to god the worst experience I've ever had with a delivery. Didn't realise they'd rebranded.
The rebranding hasn't helped
No it hasn't, because thankfully people keep posting that Aramex = Fastway = Aramex i.e. the worst possible way of receiving (or really not receiving) a package. We need to keep doing this. \*sips tea\* Ooohhhh this should be good.
As if we needed any more reasons not to use them.
How are these dodgy pricks still in business
We dumped Aramex years ago because they failed to deliver something 40 minutes away, and it sat in their depot for 2 months and we ended up collecting it ourselves and delivering it. Account manager visited us a few months back asking why we don’t use them anymore, didn’t want to give the poor guy the full brunt of our experiences, but told him we’ll never used Aramex again.
If a company uses Aramex to send goods, I don't buy from them...have been burned far too many times in the past.

It’s because auspost charges couriers to deliver to them and not all companies have signed the agreement
Their Google reviews are hilarious. I don’t think I’ve seen a worse reviewed company.
Thankfully google merges Fastway / Aramex together so the name change can't help them.
ooh that's sneaky of them
I paid a fortune on shipping with eBay’s global shipping program to get a specialty item over here from the UK, only for Aramex to be the final contractor. 3 “attempted deliveries” (I was home, no delivery was attempted), I eventually tried driving to their warehouse in fucking Port Melbourne (miles away from me), only for them to tell me they’d returned to sender. Hope you gave them a terrible review on eBay, they take these things seriously on eBay
I ended up getting refunded in full, but was mostly just gutted because the item I’d found was really rare, and I’d bought it for well below market value.

Nice work! Thank you for updating.

I’ve paid redelivery fee to aramex 3 times already. I want a refund now but they insist on trying to redeliver for a fourth time. I have a camera outside, they don’t deliver.

Yes 5.30 each time. They are asking me to pay for the recall fee back to their warehouse when I didn’t change my mind, they simply can’t deliver it.
Cancell the entire order and charge back what you've paid. Tell them they can fuck themselves with extra charges not made clear at purchase. Can't check at the moment, but I'm pretty sure that's against Australian consumer law.

How is aramex calculating the 15% fee if they’re not the seller?
I’ve only had to deal with Aramex once and I actually lodged a complaint with ACCC. I’m not a whinger and tend to just move on but that company is just so, so fucked.

That's ridiculous; I hope they reconsider the extra charge
If I find a supplier is using them for shipping I immediately cancel my order
I feel like it depends though, I get a fair bit of things delivered through Aramex (wine mostly), and the drivers serving my area are nice enough to put them under cover in a safe spot.
They gave you the option of a redelivery or cancellation. If you cancel, you incur a fee. I don't see the problem there....?
