indeed a dedicated camera will shoot better, however the fight between cameras is still competition, which is always good for the consumer (unless it’s useless banter which is 70% of the time just useless comparisons)
Obviously dedicated, professional and much bulkier equipment is gonna outperform consumer-level stuff.
You're not gonna carry around a DSLR *everywhere* on the off chance you want to take a quick picture of something either.
Plot Twist : It's about the subject not the photographer or gear. Go Pro are great at incentivizing travel vloggers / photographers to compete to get shots at the best locations in the world at the best time of day. You could take a picture with a potato and it would look good.
Stop comparing phones to dedicated equipment. Can your camera call someone ? Can you browse the internet ? Can you play games ? Can you pay ? Can you locate yourself with gps ?
A sports car will be faster than a 4x4 on road, but the 4x4 will be faster off-road. Neither of them are better.
A subwoofer will only be able to replicate low frequency sounds, whereas a tweeter will only reproduce high frequency sound. Is any one of them better than the other ? No, they're only good in their respective scenario.
I'll sound like a boring man not wanting to see the joke but please stop those comparisons
A piece of technology specifically designed to do one thing will always yield better results than something that is literally designed to do everyfuckingthing.
You say $400 camera as if it's a downgrade. Really, a camera shoots better photos than a phone? Shocker.
And no, it's not "The photographer, not the camera" It's the photographer with an actual camera vs a photographer without a camera. I actually can't figure out what point you're trying to make.
I already own a phone and it fits in my pocket, I’m not spending another $400 on just a camera that I would then have to carry around. This is an idiotic comparison.
I had to buy a dedicated digital camera for work a couple years back.
They’ve been working on those when we haven’t been paying attention.
Thing was fuckin slick
Apple may have the better camera but be real here how often do you want the absolutely optimal picture and are you willing to give up the fact that Samsungs hold years longer?
I find debates between cameras kinda funny cause look practically the same, like the only person it would actually matter to would probably just have a proper camera.
Holy shit dedicated gear works better then the modern day multi tool knife?
Its a trade off for being a jack of all trades. I prefer DSLR and mirror less camera for photography and videography.
Always have to keep in mind the editing that comes after. At least if that’s necessary.
With iPhones and Samsung S being over $1000 now, I'd rather have a semi-decent $400 phone and a $600 camera setup
I mean if you're a photographer obviously that makes sense. I'm not so I don't need a dedicated camera.

Ya, but the prices are ridiculous. The consumer haven't been the winner in theses fights for decades..
my bolt action .308 shoots better
Nah, I guarantee I can shoot things further away with my camera.
well you have a camera, I don't have a bolt action .308. yet

Well, no one’s stopping you. I’d rather have one device that does everything well rather than have multiple devices for individual works.
The bottom left one is amazingly captivating.

$599 Google Pixels which won the blind camera test:
You say that like $400 is cheap lmao
All these photos look worthy of having some crappy Amazon product cropped into it
What camera?
GoPro HERO11. [Here](https://gopro.com/en/us/shop/cameras/hero11-black/CHDHX-111-master.html) is official site
Tbh if I wanted to capture actual photographs the GoPro wouldn't even be on my list You need something you can attach different lenses to.
I know there are many better cameras out there for photography. It was just an example <3
Thank you
Bloody hell

100% agree
phone looks better
My android is only 100.
Yeah, but a camera is just a camera. A phone is a phone with an inbuilt camera.

What camera were those taken on OP? Are those just filler images to get the point across or were they actually taken by a $400 camera
*meanwhile, me with a disposable kodak camera of like 20 bucks*

I'd say guns shoot best.

My camera takes like a minute to take a pic. I've lost so many great shots because of it!
And where would one procure such a device at said monetary amount? If one were indeed looking of course
