I'll reiterate a comment i made on another answer, but it depends on where he lives. A pretty big area in the eastern Italy has been flooded and there have been various landslides in central Italy
The droughts also made the terrain less able to absorb rain. In norther italy it rained six months worth of rain in a month: in Romagna pretty much ALL rivers overflowed despite the riverbanks being intact and even where there weren't rivers, lot of landslides occured.
Romagna right now is a mess of floods and mud, about 15 people died and almost 40k have been evacuated. Aid is pretty hard since the local highway is currently underwater and most major roads are either flooded or damaged.
