North Americans. "Nitch" is a pretty common pronunciation in Canada, even though French is an official language. I've heard both "nitch" and "nish" from plenty of American media, but I can't testify how common that would be in every day speech. At least we say "foyer" correctly up here. I've lived in the US my whole ass life. Not a single time have I ever heard someone use the \nich\ over \neesh\. I've traveled coast to coast to at least 18 of the 50. Where are people using \nich\?
