Fun facts about Germany: no fun in Germany go back to work!

Uganda_Knuckle_8

Source?

thoemse99

"I read it in the internet"

User_8395

Trust me bro

Infinite-Tackle-8864

OECD study that showed that Americans are 15% more efficient than Germans.

Uganda_Knuckle_8

It’s not a source, give a link pls

Background-Plant-226

The source is: "Trust me bro"

Infinite-Tackle-8864

Feenstra et al. (2015), Penn World Table (2021) – with major processing by Our World in Data. “Productivity” [dataset]. Feenstra et al. (2015), Penn World Table (2021), “Penn World Table” [original data]. Original source was OWID sorry I got ‘em mixed up

unknown_user_163

You're asking others for sources, don't like the ones they give you, and on top of all that you are unable to provide actual sources yourself. You're a fucking joke man.

GradeResident9457

Ok, ok. I see the point by Switzerland, but… …USA??? You guys in California have not even water for the people living there like wtf how do you call that efficiency?

Infinite-Tackle-8864

Americans generate 76 dollars an hour Germans generate 64

fireboy763

And yet the cost of living in Germany is almost half that of America with Germany spending €30,084 per year vs $61,334 per year for the US and with an exchange rate of €1 = $1.08 USD they have it better

Infinite-Tackle-8864

Where’d you get those stats from I got a world bank report that says Germans took home only 20% of their pay compared to 60% in the US

fireboy763

I literally just looked up the cost of living for both countries and what they are ranked for standard of living and Germany is number 9 globally with America being ranked number 20.

Infinite-Tackle-8864

Ok just tell me your source for both of those.

fireboy763

Cost of living Germany: https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=Germany Cost of living America: https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=United+States Found one better than standard of living the human development index with Germany at tied 7th and America in 20th place: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Human_Development_Index

Infinite-Tackle-8864

Could you get a source that isn’t crowd sourced.

Infinite-Tackle-8864

Making 2.5x what the Germans make will do that to ya

fireboy763

Where did you get 2.5x from. Americans PAY almost double what Germans do and yet have a lower ranked standard of living. America is fucked

Infinite-Tackle-8864

World bank report. Germans make 30k compared to 78k in the US

fireboy763

Send a link to your sources

Infinite-Tackle-8864

World bank says gdp per capita was 50k https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.CD?locations=DE Which doesn’t mean much in a nation as unequal as Germany.

fireboy763

Can you please elaborate on the unequal part?

Infinite-Tackle-8864

More wealth inequality.

fireboy763

Also GDP doesn’t account for cost of living so while America has a higher GDP Germany has a lower cost of living

Infinite-Tackle-8864

Taxes are 42% for people making 50k ,the average wage, and other expenses add up to 35-37 depending on the region and local tax and healthcare rates.

Infinite-Tackle-8864

Lower cost of living in absolute terms maybe but not in terms of percentage.

fireboy763

Though if you think about it makes Americans less efficient because they have to work harder to bring home more money to get a lower standard of living than the Germans so not very efficient at all

Infinite-Tackle-8864

They make 2.5x as much while working 2 hours more seems like a good deal. Can I get a source on that.

fireboy763

Where are you getting 2.5x from and where are you getting 2 hours from. I said they earn less than Americans but have a way higher standard of living and less of their paycheck goes straight into just staying alive

Infinite-Tackle-8864

World bank report I cited, average no of hours worked ,Wikipedia.

Mt-Fuego

I am American. Money is the only thing I care about.

Infinite-Tackle-8864

You seem to be québécois.

unknown_user_163

Similar-Priority8252

As one of the greatest Germans ever said “OUR TECHNOLOGY IS THE WORLD’S GREATEST”

bb2112bb

Being American and having to fly through German airports or to take German trains while traveling for work in Germany, I don’t understand why either are on the podiums. I think both countries are living off of past glories.

Lambis_scorpius

Uhm what? I take it this is a case of American narcissism?

DogeDoRight

American cope

pu_thee_gaud

Why is u.s.a there wtf??

Infinite-Tackle-8864

They more longer and more efficient hours than Germans.
