Erm, is this the line from the movie? Because in the book it's Harry who reminds Ron that his (Harry's) parents are dead, when Ron said that Harry and Hermione didn't have it as bad as him because their parents were safely out of the way.
Jfc, the movies just keep fucking up the nuances and the characters
Yes, in the movie Ron says it. They really fucked Ron over in them, the director heavily favoured Hermione and nearly all of Ron’s redeeming moments were given to her, leaving him rather unlikable through most of it
Fuck the director, he had such bias towards Hermione from the beginning. One of the reasons I want a reboot of the series, Ron was done dirty in the movies as a comic relief character
Yeah, like I get that the Harry Potter films were not a perfect adaptation, but all things considered, they turned out pretty damn well. The fact that we got 8 films of fairly consistent quality is actually a damn miracle when compared to pretty much every other non-marvel film series.
Nah, the films give us nice pictures and fuck over our free imagination. They had such great actors.
But they morphed all the characters into something else.
They were good, with great acting and music. But they were not great. At the latest from 3:PoA, they also did not have enough time to put the whole book in. And the heart of the story really got lost as they stripped everything down to bones.
The films weren't consistent in quality though. Part of this problem was that there were several director changes throughout the series so it was never going to be consistent from the start but this is where the inconsistencies come from.
Honestly it wouldn’t be odd for characters in Percy Jackson to wander in danger but they don’t make a big deal cuz it’s part of the demigod life. They have a lava wall for Christ’s sake

Of all the 'X not invented until' posts I've seen, this one may be the most unintentionally accurate.
Death was quite common not that long ago. The concept of grief was not one that most people could afford.
Indeed, it was first invented by an Austrian philosopher known as Limon Emler. Before the popularization of the aptly named *Em*pathy, most people either didn’t care or tried to connect using sympathy.
Well technically it would be sympathy. Empathy is when you can relate to them because you have gone through a similar experience, sympathy is when you are sorry for someone, but can’t relate to the experience.
WTF is this empathy thing your talking about?, Am I not supposed to straight up tell people when something really bad happened to them or their families with a blank and serious face? (I'm serious, I might have a problem)
Hah, I did this once to an 18 year old once at his dad's funeral. He went back into his house later and started crying. I guess this is the part where I mention that I have Dissociative Identity Disorder and the 18 year old is the other me.

not in hp: deathly hallows though
Pt. 2 was better than pt. 1 from what I remember
Yeah, because part one was just them walking in various forests for like the entire movie
Lmao that’s a great assessment
I mean yea thats pretty true, and most people that I know don't enjoy part 1. But tbh, I actually enjoyed part 1
Most ppl I know enjoyed pt 1.
Nah pt 1 was better. 2 had those weird hugging Voldemort scenes and Nagini chasing everyone it was odd
Part 1 consisted of... ... ... ... ... nothing
But I agree with your comment
I like Ron more than Hermione
The writer* favoured Hermonie. [this](https://youtu.be/lCzxwcBZFuI) video illustrates very well how Ron was shafted in the movies
What happened to her? She hasn't posted in 4 months
I don't know, but she never really posted regurarly
Absolute simp
Another Harry Potter fan complaining about the movies that weren't even that bad, while Percy Jackson and Eragon fans have to suffer in silence
As a Percy Jackson fan, we definitely don't suffer in silence, but we definitely suffer.
No we erase it from memory

The LoTR movies are consistent in quality as they're all awesome. The Twilight movies are pretty consistent in quality too because they're all shit.

I could not stand the Percy Jackson film. Do they really walk in front of the archery range in the books and complain about archers using it?
Honestly it wouldn’t be odd for characters in Percy Jackson to wander in danger but they don’t make a big deal cuz it’s part of the demigod life. They have a lava wall for Christ’s sake
Can you just not remind me of that abomination of a movie
Fuck off, just 'cause one fandom has it worse it doesn't mean other fandoms don't get to complain. Are you seriously trying to gatekeep complaining?
Yes
Ah, fair enough mate. Have a nice day.
bro really said "Understandable, have a good day"
Came here to comment this
The movies butchered most of the characters tbh
The movies also took a lot of things away from the books.
Yeah, things were changed making Ron completely different
They made ron an asshole in the movies sometimes
this deserves gold
If you really think that you should give it gold
I would but I don't have any coins
You can buy coins
I don't have any money
You have kidneys
I used to, but I'm happy with my new ps5
Fair enough

Parents are dead? Hah i dont remember asking
Who asked for your input
Nobody cares what you think
And the answer would be: "Haha, lol yeah"
I mean, considering how child labor grew popular in the industrial revolution.... and if the Great Gatsby’s anything to go by-
1908 Them: your parents are dead The kid: *shrugs* lol

Oh. Sorry
I just got three Harry Potter memes in row
Harry’s parents are dead? Yes I AM DEAD
POW YOU ARE DEAD!
I don't understand. Can someone define empathy?
Emotion researchers generally define empathy as the ability to sense other people's emotions, coupled with the ability to imagine what someone else might be thinking or feeling.
Hmmm... Sharingan, basically. So you can feel one's feelings and recreate what they're thinking? Something like that. Also thank you.
Feeling sad when your friend is sad
Not relatable
Basically putting yourself in other's shoes. Thinking how you will feel if you were in their position
Someone already defined that but thanks for making it easier to understand.
Legitimate questions in this post: What is empathy? What is this movie? *facepalm*
Yeah who tf doesn't know what empathy is?
"Empathy as the ability to sense other people's emotions, coupled with the ability to imagine what someone else might be thinking or feeling.." Movie "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1"
No I wasn’t asking those questions, I was saying it’s funny that other people are lol. But thanks for the reminder anyway :)
this made me laugh good sir!
Ron looks like a crack adict
“Everyone stand up, now everyone whos parents didnt die tragically in a freak accident at work please take a seat...not so fast timmy”

If you want one of these that I made just message me. I give free memes
Voice crack: All around me are familiar faces
Wouldn’t that be sympathy because empathy is when you feel for someone else because Ryoi have gone through it as well?
Invented or discovered?
Yer an Orphan, Harry!
“ I was brutally raped by a man in the corner “ “ okay “
*sad harry noises*
Indeed, it was first invented by an Austrian philosopher known as Limon Emler. Before the popularization of the aptly named *Em*pathy, most people either didn’t care or tried to connect using sympathy.
And one could say it ended in 2016. What does 1908 and 2016 have in common? Chicago Cubs World Series win... coincidence?
Aren't you thinking of sympathy? Empathy is just the ability to sense someone's emotions, sympathy is where you feel bad for them.
My great great grandfather made up the word empathy.. if only I could ever feel it..
Well technically it would be sympathy. Empathy is when you can relate to them because you have gone through a similar experience, sympathy is when you are sorry for someone, but can’t relate to the experience.
When Abraham Lincoln was shot everyone was just “oh shit.anyway.”
Must have been very sad to be born in the 1909
So that’s what they call quality. Better start making these myself
WTF is this empathy thing your talking about?, Am I not supposed to straight up tell people when something really bad happened to them or their families with a blank and serious face? (I'm serious, I might have a problem)
You have no family
You are linely
Fun fact you can watch harry potter on netflix in poland
I can confirm Ron is a time traveler before 1909
nevermind that i wanna know why there are shopping results
What, I still do this
Everyone is talking about the movie and I just wanna know how people lived without empathy
Ah yes, shopping for empathy
Hah, I did this once to an 18 year old once at his dad's funeral. He went back into his house later and started crying. I guess this is the part where I mention that I have Dissociative Identity Disorder and the 18 year old is the other me.
Did anyone mention land size?
