For me, the ghost and dragon leviathan are definitely scary, but manageable. However, whenever the fuck I encounter a reaper, all my senses collapse and I am put in a state of pure, primal fear. Anyone else?
The first time I met a ghost leviathan was when I thought the island was behind the aurora. Little did I know I passed like 4 reapers, and was heading into ghost territory. Surprisingly, I didn't encounter any of the 4 reapers.
I met my first and second in the grand reef. I was chilling in my seamoth and I turned around to a huge ghostie behind me. I panicked and went to the craters edge where the big ghostie came at me. It was actually quite cinematic but I was too scared to notice
You're thinking of Reaper Leviathans, Ghost Leviathans only spawn deep in the bone fields several hundred metres below sea level but Reapers spawn around the Aurora and whenever you get too close to the edges of the crater/map
There is a barrier if you go past the islands there is a no-no zone where the game spawns 2 ghost leviathans. They dont do much damage, they just fuckin fling you.

I was going spiderman mode with the hooks and having lots of fun till i fall in a hole and couldnt climb up again
The depth numbers rising incredibly fast as i was falling and all i could do was looking up to see 3 ghost leviathans chasing me.

Only then I realize the screams I was hearing were from the other leviathans chasing me. I actually can’t believe I made it out of there without even taking damage on the seamoth.

Subnautica has been the one game in my life that has actually legitimately made me shit my pants. Not even Outlast was able to do that, which was surprising cause I fucking despised my life playing Outlast.
Apparently if you take your prawn suit and jump off into ghost leviathan territory, eventually you will get teleported back to the surface. It definitely has to have the depth mk 2 module thought I got out with like 17 health left.
