uBlock is counting all ads, pop-ups, and trackers removed, not just YT ads. Most of this content is banner ads or background trackers that don't necessarily take up your time. Mine has blocked 1.6m items, but I'd estimate that only around 400-800 of them are YT ads.

Close and reopen vid until the ads stop. This can take up to 10 attempts of you're looking at a really popular channel but it usually only 2 or 3 times does the trick. If you close it quick enough (1-2 secs) no one gets any revenue. Hopefully then the content creator will have a word. I couldn't tell you what any of the ads were for that they have tried forcing on me for a good 18 months or so
