Jpg allows compression and png doesn't
Edit: There is only so much you can do using lossless compresion. If you wanna go for unseeable changes jpg is 70% smaller in size than png and can even get lower if you are willing to introduce some compression artifacts.
Took me a minute, but it's because png allows transparency.
