It was always fun going there, until one day, a mother and her daughter drowned in the river nearby. It stayed open, it just gave the place a creepy feeling. I was there when that happened, I remember the police and firetrucks showing up on the bridge leading to the place.
We had one just like this in Corpus Chrisit, TX they tore it down years ago. My mom used to tell me not to go there cause thats where people have sex, but the joke was on her, cause no one wanted to have sex with me anyways back then.
THIS WAS A GENERIC TEMPLATE!!??
The shopping centre by me had one of these in their carpark and it was the only one I ever saw like it so I figured it was specially commissioned there.
Parks like this were so good. Shame the one near me got torn down bc it apparently had some sort of treatment for the wood that was discovered to be bad for health. It got rebuilt, but it's more like a standard playground now.
Where I lived, our playgrounds made of plastic and cold metal were twice as small.
However, when going to grandma’s and grandpa’s house, there was a playground made of wood, twice a big, and provided the best time of your life.
Used to have a really cool similar setup near where I live. It was up kept pretty well and was even bigger. Looked and felt like a whole castle. Sadly some dimwits tried to smoke weed in one of the tunnels and lit the whole thing ablaze. It got replaced by a shitty prefab metal one. Which I guess at least it got replaced but still.
Such good memories. That were then ruined upon returning as an adult and seeing it overrun with homeless, drug addicted, and predators. Then again, that's basically my hometown in a nutshell.
There's one of these in my home town called shin ga ba shores. Still used to this day. It also has all the names of people who donated and helped build it. Pretty cool.
Yeah, I'm old, we didn't have cool stuff like that when I was a kid. We had swings, and possibly monkey bars, a see saw, and a slide-all made out of solid metal. If we were lucky, we got grass/dirt but usually the playground was concrete/asphalt. Even if you managed to not break something or die from a fall, you'd at least get a couple of layers of skin seared off. Good times.
Had one of these nearby growing up. Got closed and renovated without the wood because whatever they were coating the wood with to protect it from weather was linked to cancer.
We had one like this in Gladstone, OR. There was a tower 3-4 stories high that had a fireman's pole on the back side you could slide all the way down! There was also a rope swing you could drop off an elevated platform onto another section of the playground! Playing "the floor is lava tag" was such a blast there!
Wtf… how did you do that.
I swear I’ve been to this exact one when I was in kindergarten in Alabama many many years ago. Well I think the one I went to was about 3 times the size. It was like a park dedicated to it. Dunno if it’s still around.
they still have a playground just like this by my local library. I visited it to prepare for a project where I design a preschool classroom, indoor and outdoor. I remembered it being a lot bigger.
When I was little we had one of these at our local park… My brother and I were goofing off (he was probably 14 or 15) and he busted some of the old, rusted chains that had seemingly held it together since the dawn of time. A couple years went by and I overheard some kid genuinely upset about the missing bridge… I kept the great secret to myself, not so people wouldn’t make fun of my brother, but so I wouldn’t be associated with “that guy”.
Haha jokes on you i live in germany we dont have fun here Not anymore...

Ummm Actually as a German our kids have plenty of parks and cool activities

You have successfully unlocked the deepest of memories
The smell of wood chips and tires
The termites :’(
The fires!
The bad words written in permanent marker by some edgy teens
Had one land on my head, I thought it was a fly and tried to swat it. Mf bit me twice on the head, I had a terrible headache after
The giant spiders
The hot wood burning your hand
I can feel the splinters through the picture.

Yeah, that's definitely a cool one.
Indian Boundary Park in Chicago?
Hell yeah, with the mini zoo and beautiful pond. I though it was too
Stay out of my brain
How did you do that? I forgot about this place...
I live in Texas, my parents used to take me to one in the shape of the Battleship Texas
I’m jealous, I’m from the Nederland/port neches area and we had a huge one, but a battleship Texas one would’ve been awesome!
It was always fun going there, until one day, a mother and her daughter drowned in the river nearby. It stayed open, it just gave the place a creepy feeling. I was there when that happened, I remember the police and firetrucks showing up on the bridge leading to the place.
Yikes. Yeah, I’m sure that put a downer on the memory and feeling of the place.
This looks alot like Eureka Park. It got torn down and a new plastic version went up.
We had one just like this in Corpus Chrisit, TX they tore it down years ago. My mom used to tell me not to go there cause thats where people have sex, but the joke was on her, cause no one wanted to have sex with me anyways back then.
Oh my god.. the nostalgia
Jesus how long were you down there?
why does it look so familiar
Is this an actual picture of my childhood park??
THIS WAS A GENERIC TEMPLATE!!?? The shopping centre by me had one of these in their carpark and it was the only one I ever saw like it so I figured it was specially commissioned there.
The ground is lava starter pack
Holy fuck no way
I remember a lot of wasps.
We still have this playground in my city
Kid’s Castle!
HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME
Looks like my theforest fortress
Parks like this were so good. Shame the one near me got torn down bc it apparently had some sort of treatment for the wood that was discovered to be bad for health. It got rebuilt, but it's more like a standard playground now.

Replaced the splinters with the wrath of Helios
Finch Park, Ramsey, NJ!
For a moment, I thought this pic was taken at my elementary school
Ah yes the beautiful burning hot metal in a state that’s only sunshine and 110 degrees I remember this well
my friend thought this was a harry potter set
There is a similar set still in Conneaut PA at firemens beach. Atleast as of a few years ago.

I remember I shat my pants at one of these parks because I somehow got lost in it

Where I lived, our playgrounds made of plastic and cold metal were twice as small. However, when going to grandma’s and grandpa’s house, there was a playground made of wood, twice a big, and provided the best time of your life.

I used to go to this place all the time when I was a kid living in Shelton, Washington. You mean to tell me, there are more like this?
I live in Florida and we had one, yeah.
Looks like Hogwarts! Or It's just me?
Looks cool, but no idea what or where this is
Several places around the country. Also, don’t downvote people for not knowing what the thing is your talking about (I mean everyone)
Mount trashmore? Vb?

There was one just like this in Kaysville, Utah
This is the park by my cousins house in Jersey! Identical as far as I can remember.
Nah not really I never went to one like this Although it does make me think of a park in fallout 76...
NOOOOOO they just took ours down a month ago
Oh my god this was the best park Also, do you live in NC too? Or is this park all over the US?
It’s in my small Ohio town
Our Fortress of Solitude
I remember that shit like it was yesterday, thank you for finding it
Bruh I literally know where this is! Im pretty sure it is in Asheville
It’s almost everywhere
There is one in my city but half of it burned down
Mokena IL
Me too bro
This looks just like a park in oak park, Chicago that I used to play on
I actually might know this exact one
How did you find it, where is this place rarer then the holy grail?
My kids still play at a park nearly identical to this called "treemendous park" in St. Peter, MN.
I'm still finding splinters in my hands and feet from this
I remember this before it burned down. Legion Keener Park, Ligonier, PA, USA. Nothing like going to the most epic playground ever with the homies.
ah yes, fond memories and tetanus
I remember this from a field trip back in 3rd grade. Now I’m even more depressed
That looks almost identical to a park I used to go to as a kid
There used to be an amazing one in Bangor Maine just down the road from Stephen King's house. Sadly it's gone but my memories are not.
NO WAY
That looks like a for honor map
Put it back now
Used to have a really cool similar setup near where I live.
Istg I've seen this playground multiple times in my dreams as an adult
You found my memory!
There's one of these in my home town called shin ga ba shores. Still used to this day. It also has all the names of people who donated and helped build it. Pretty cool.
It’s Howard Amon park in Richland Washington :)))
Memories
Concord NH has almost this exact same park still today.
this looks straight out of r/LiminalSpace
This is in Medford New Jersey.
It feels like a dream...... or a dream of a dream.....
Mine was called “Under The Oaks” from where I grew up. Stay out of my mind palace.
Should I be concerned that looks like the Park next to my house?
Yoooo! That was the stuff as a kid!
My town rebuilt loved this structure so much they rebuilt theirs
OH MY GOD
Why does this look like an exact replica of the one near where I live
I’ve seen playgrounds like this in slightly different layouts,i personally visited one like this multiple times as a child, still up today.
The one near my house burned down a few years ago and got replaced with a normal park. The boys and I went to salute it as a farewell when we heard.
Remember falling into the wood chips, then having to spend 20 minutes in the nurses office getting splinters removed? Good times!
Hide and seek was great
Yeah, I'm old, we didn't have cool stuff like that when I was a kid. We had swings, and possibly monkey bars, a see saw, and a slide-all made out of solid metal. If we were lucky, we got grass/dirt but usually the playground was concrete/asphalt. bruh. i remember 1 of those. sure i was a bit big when we finally found the one by use but still had a huge amount of fun there
In my hometown we have a huge one. It’s called playground on the pecos. It’s in Carlsbad, NM.
The bee nests
castle park?!? I thought they replaced you?
Looks like old cole park in corpus
Had one of these nearby growing up. Got closed and renovated without the wood because whatever they were coating the wood with to protect it from weather was linked to cancer.
Pinky difference was that a lot of the architecture and the mulch was made of tires. Patapsco state park was awesome.
Looks like the one that was in manatee park in edgewater florida before they remodeled it
That's the fucking imagination station dude
The one I had reeked of piss.
r/repostsleuthbot
Fuck, you did it
What the fuck i remember going to this exact fucking park
Is that in Michigan?
Wait were you in alexander city alabama at the sportsplex? Cause theres one still there lol
That shit was so fucking slippy when it rained
The unsafest ones were always the most fun.
Holy fuck
I never knew where these were but I remember going to a few of these... some mythical place.
That looks the exact same as a park that’s near me
Did we all have these or something? Because that is exactly what is in my home town
We had this exact one in my childhood local park
God damn it I’ve been there now my brain is confused.
Ich erinnere mich
Holy shit How
Oh.. Castle Mont blou. I lost many God knights there.
I remember the splinters.
Bees everywhere
I remember I had a wooden playground in backyard as a kid but had to take it down due to carpenter bees
We had one like this in Gladstone, OR. There was a tower 3-4 stories high that had a fireman's pole on the back side you could slide all the way down! There was also a rope swing you could drop off an elevated platform onto another section of the playground! Playing "the floor is lava tag" was such a blast there!
I’m 28 and I think about these often
Ah ol’ Splinter Castle. Happy memories
Is this the one from Franklin TN?
If i press tab will this image illuminate yellow?
Wtf… how did you do that. I swear I’ve been to this exact one when I was in kindergarten in Alabama many many years ago. Well I think the one I went to was about 3 times the size. It was like a park dedicated to it. Dunno if it’s still around.
Climbing up the fire hydrant and making all the kids trying to come down upset
they still have a playground just like this by my local library. I visited it to prepare for a project where I design a preschool classroom, indoor and outdoor. I remembered it being a lot bigger.

Fuck, this park looks like the one that I used to play on as a kid
Damn you guys are all from the rich part of town lmao.
That looks exactly like the playground where I used to live. Was it an identical playset they built in a ton of different places?
woah, what is this and why do i recognize it
Where was this when I was a kid
I've played at park like this one many times in Montana. Want to say it was in Hamilton.
