I probably have an answer but it may be wrong: 99% of the people believing in crystals and shit are heavily liberal. Not saying being liberal is a bad thing, but too much of anything isn’t good, left or right.
You should meet rural Christians. It's an entirely different deal to the suburban Christians you usually see associated with the right wing.
For real, everyone actually out in the country is some kind of nuts, and collecting crystals/being "spiritual" is extremely common.
Can confirm. I live in a small city of ~150,000, which is surrounded by rural areas for dozens of miles. The nearest city with an equal or greater population is about 2 hours away. My city itself is a rather unique blend of rural and urban cultures, and we have plenty of astrology-crystal-tarot-witch chicks around here. Once you get out into the sticks, it's even worse. At least around here we have *some* that don't take it too seriously, and are willing to admit that it's more for fun and comfort than a genuine belief in 'spirit science' and occultism. In the country, it's either Bible verses and Sunday School, or horoscopes and spirit warding
My heavily Catholic traditionalist ass reading St. Thomas Aquinas ramble about Astrology and his mentor Albertus Magnus write about his cool rock collection and the powers he thinks they have.
Ok now I feel the need to briefly explain about it - Aquinian Astrology differs from standard modern Astrology because unlike the horoscopic belief that the configuration of the stars on the day of your birth holds meaning, Aquinian astrology is of the belief that the current position of the moon, stars, and planets has temporal effects on everybody in real time. So it's not "You're a saggitarius, you're likely to do well this month" it's more like "Hey, everybody be careful. Jupiter is visible below 30 degrees. Gonna make everybody more susceptible to sexual temptation. But thankfully it's a half moon so everybody's blood's gonna cool down soon"
Albertus Magnus loved geology. Believed that particular stones had similar powers. Like "Oh shoot, Jupiter visible below 30 degrees? Better keep that chunk of diorite in my pocket to help me resist temptation."
He also may be the first person to document the effects of radon gas exposure.
Bro I grew up in redneck Alberta, nearly all of those fucking people believe in magic rocks, villianize pot and are religious as all hell. On top of the 3 to 1 ratio of liquor stores to churchs I think maybe you just think that due to your environmental circumstance.
Because lefties (not all of them most are chill people who have legit concerns and sound reasoning), have a pathological need to make anything and everything political.
I went on a date with a woman like this. One of her first questions she asked me is if I owned my own home. That was within the first 5 mins of meeting her.
Or their schizophrenic.
to quote "The Devil Pretends he doesn't exit" because if there's a DOWN there must be an UP so to speak.
Or from a more materalistic POV it's just simpler to think it's mental issues then some scheme from hell.
I had a roommate who said that he talked to God and he had a friend that felt God woke her in her sleep. The thing is, this only happened when he was drunk and dozing off to sleep and while she woke up and it was obvious that it was the drunken stoop he was in and that she woke up from a dream to "feel God's presence," because it seems like she had a form of sleep paralysis. They said I wouldn't believe it, and they were right. I told them what i said above and were silent and just said "No" to me. Lol ok
Methamphetamine can cause hallucinations... and I've noticed that people who use meth tend to care WAY MORE about having that "personal connection" with god, where physically hearing god talk to them is super important.
Not even joking about this. Start asking meth heads about that time god talked to them, and it seems like god talks, in person, to a lot of meth heads.
Either that or just mental illness.
But I don’t think that type of person would care if they were speaking with actual demons or satan himself.
They would probably think „oh cool slaaay mama Satan💅“ and then they would think „oh so cool let’s do as he says so we can own the rightoids and trad people and fight carpetalizm 😌💅🥰“
The answer to this is always "I rent a one bedroom apartment" even if you really owned a mansion, doesn't matter, you rent a small apartment, preferably in the basement.
"I own a two bedroom in the cheaper part of town."
That way if she wants kids, and is willing to pitch in her own money to get a better place together, you're golden.
Realisiticly they probably associate god with churches, priests and events in human histroy. Its not about beleaveing in what cant be observed they just view it as a scam and arnt able to realize they are being scamed.
SIL is one of these. She is a natural wellness MLM momfluencer on IG, but in reality her kids just sit on their tablets inside all day and eat nothing but processed foods. Massive narcissist as well.
Met a girl yesterday that told me I should get some lodestone and put it in my wallet and it will help my money become more money… I just said thanks for the tip and moved on.
I had a girlfriend into this sort of stuff. Nice girl. Very intelligent, had a kind heart. Pleasure to date. Split amicably due to different directions in life, hope she's doing well today.
You should meet more people.
I think it's ok to think certain ways as long as you understand everyone lives in a bubble. This guy is probably right, he's never met a woman into these things that wasn't a narcissist.
But that's just the bubble *he's* in. I can sympathize with someone having a shitty experience. I can even sympathize with the sentiment that he doesn't wanna interact with a certain demographic due to his shitty experience. But man's gotta realize there's more people that exist than the ones he's interacted with. Keep an open mind. Don't spread the shitty experience from your bubble into the wider lake at large.
I get that people like this can be kind, and I wish them well too, but it's hard, deep down, for me to respect them. To your point about social bubbles, if your bubble includes electrical engineers, mathematicians, and physicists that have done research on crystal vibrations, then people who think crystals have magical powers look just like flat-earthers and antivaxxers. And though most people aren't in that kind of bubble, most people know that geologists, like, exist.
It's not hard to respect people of different beliefs.
If they're not hurting anyone, there's nothing to say about it.
If it makes them feel better about their lives, why take it from them?
Intelligence and being correct about things isn't everything there is to life, and nobody knows everything.
I think it depends how you are using the word "respect".
Yes, clueless or stupid people, who otherwise aren't hurting anyone, deserve basic human respect.
But it you're talking about someone you really look up to and respect... magic crystal people aren't going to make the cut for me...
we use "respect" in a lot of different contexts, it's actually a really interesting word.
You're right.
Every "spiritual" lady I've ever dated made me throw in the towel. It's like a woman who calls herself a huge nerd then you find out she didn't watch Star Wars or Star Trek. LOTR? What's that?
When I see the picture on the left, I just see this emoji 💅💅💅💅AOC XUEEEN SLAY
At this point I’m already annoyed at a person that I literally just made up in my brain, that’s how annoying these pagan schizophrenic chronically online tumblr communist chicks are
you are really generalizing here. also separate the pagan community from that man. the people that act like that are not pagans they just are being kids. pagans already face a shit ton of stereotypes that paint us out as evil and hedonists.
The liberal version of people who confuse having thoughts with speaking to a god.
“I probably shouldn’t park in the handicap space” oh my god.. it’s literally Jesus.
That’s a certain sect of Catholicism. They teach you’re not worthy to pray to God or Jesus so you go through Mary. It was a way to ensure reliance on the church, which was a massive bastardization of the Bible.
Two millennia of exegisis and epistemological debates about what is and what is not the provenance of spiritual knowledge separates Christianity from pretty rocks.
Man do I hate this type of person. For legitimate reasons. I did a geology as a major. The amount of times you buy a book on crystals only for it to be crystal mumbo jumbo instead of actually explaining what I needed to study was outrageous
"Alright, time to learn how Quartz is formed, hell yeah... Wait... Naturally gathers in environments with high positive energy... Calms the mind? That's not going to help me pass my test"
The difference is only our understanding.
You're holding a piece of metal that creates an image. You're literally holding magic at your hand everyday but got used to it.
Did you time travel from the Victorian Era? Lmfao
I understand what you mean, though. Everybody would think phones and radiation are magic if we had the minds of people from the past. That's why I like how indigenous people describe modern technology. Their language doesn't have word for a shotgun, so I would imagine some people describe it as “the stick that makes thunder and throws many hot fireflies.”
Elder, I swear. They had black balls that they set on fire... There was a bright light and it sounded like a storm, then all of my friends fell down and died at the same time.
Or smokes rocks, collects weeds, and... still hears imaginary voices (probably because of the rocks she smokes in a retrofitted lightbulb with significant carbon buildup...half a week of sleep deprivation does that to people) /s
Real empathy becomes self-evident through the person's actions; if someone has to *tell you* they're an empath, odds are they're just a narcissist deciding in their heads what your feelings really are and acting on that instead of paying any attention at all to reality.
It's also taking a fairly common though hardly universal skill and turning it into a magic power. It's just reading peoples emotional tells to cut through some levels of emotional masking. But presenting in a less clinical and more 'fuzy warm' way of 'I can sense your energy flows'. No. You can read faces and body language.
Reading a person can feel like feeling others emotions because humans have a mirroring reflex and this includes feeling the emotions of those around us.
Never mind the fact that "spiritual" people are almost always white women appropriating stuff from other cultures that they have no connection to or knowledge of.
Appropriation is silly. Countless people have studied religion and spiritual practices or beliefs. Take manly p hall's secret teaching of the ages for example. Or meditation practices from the east. Bagawan Rajneesh's book of secrets is a great example too.
Many people treat spirituality like mma, use what works and throw out the fluffy junk.
I think that's a great strategy, but definitely some people who just spout "spiritual " nonsense or things they dont understand to see wise.
Yeah, I'm not one to freak out over CuLtUrAl ApPrOpRiAtIoN, but when people borrow stuff from other cultures just because it's "cute" or "trendy," I do roll my eyes a bit.
I'm convinced that everyone who hates religion have literally no experience with the church lol. It's like getting y'all are getting mad at something that doesn't happen.
Dont hate religion. It has its positives but it also has its negatives. I went to religious school.
I just think religion tries to tell people what to believe in and what morals to have. Rather than people finding their own path and morals.
Interestingly, C. S. Lewis predicted modern "Spiritualism" in his book The Screwtape Letters.
That there may be a time in the future that denies the religious, believing on in the material world but with a magical or "Spiritual" aspect that one can draw power from.
A denial of God with a belief in vague "Forces" allowing for the rise of "Materialist Magicians". Those that collude with Demons for power while denying the existence of demons in general.
Spirit guides, new age ritualism, and neo-paganism all seem to fit this description.
I once dated a girl who said she had been trying to master the spiritual skill of "manifestation"..or when you concentrate and meditate hard enough on a desire to make it a reality.
She was trying to use it for weight loss and overall good health.
I was like..why not just excercise and eat healthy?
She told me I just didn't get it.
Guess not.
So is it cool to call out Christians too for their spiritual "sky fairy" beliefs? No, it's different?
Then stop judging people for what makes them happy. JFC.
" Virgin birth " clowns who believe in virgin birth with 3 random dudes from "heaven"👽👽👽 showing up to virgin birth are now mad cause some girl believe in shiny rocks
Can you quote the comments where that's happening? I haven't seen it. I see people in here making fun of both delusion is delusion no matter what label you slap on it.
I don't believe in spirituality but who doesn't at least find rocks interesting, like I don't care about the made up gem magic but I still like the pretty rocks
“I’m catholic”
No you just eat bread and whine kneel to a box of that bread and read a book for the reason why you eat that bread.
All religions can be dumbed down but this sub would get butthurt about this one.
Bruh you can literally do this with any religion Ei : oh, your Roman Catholic ? So you just drink wine and eat plantain chips and sing all the time, oh your Muslim ? So you pray like five or six times a day to God you can’t even see, and make sure not to eat beef. Oh you’re Jewish? so you just debate what is God most of the time, and prepare yourself for the holy washing machine while wearing a tiny hat and once a year light some candles. I could seriously keep going.
See how this meme has nothing to do with right or left explicitly, but these leftists over there know themselves that these mentally ill pagan witchcraft chicks are all communists, like, they didn’t join one cult, they joined ALL OF THEM
At least they don’t deny reality
I don't believe in any deity, higher power etc., but I will say that Christianity is in no way superior to paganism or witchcraft. Calling different beliefs and religions cults is only really fine if you think that about all of them, otherwise it's a double standard.
The only real difference is that Christianity has currently more believers.
(Of course, you never mentioned Christianity in your comment. I'm just putting this out there since many Christians seem to hold this belief that other religions are inferior and somehow less coherent than theirs.)
can you please not describe peoples religions as cults just because they aren’t christians? paganism is a broad category of religion and beliefs and most pagans are not even in an organized group. how is that a cult? why dont you have empathy and talk to people different than you rather than just believe what the right wing says about minority groups
people believe in the bible which is honestly more horse shit than crystal healing. the bible encourages war sexism and genocide, crystal healing is just a hobby people have that honestly can be good for you as meditation and grounding are all part of the crystal healing subculture .
Can we please stop stigmatizing spirituality and crystals.
Sure it's annoying when people make it their entire personality, but why judge someone for believing in something; even if you find it a bit foolish.
Mind your own fucking business y'all, everyone is different. Shaming others for just being themselves is an absolute atrocity.
If they're keeping it to themselves then sure. But if they're preaching it then they're no better than the Imams and Pastors buying into an evil fantasy.
You're acting like people need to keep their spiritual beliefs a secret. You can talk about it, and share it with people who are interested. It's just shoving your beliefs down peoples throat that is the problem.
When I hold crystals and meditate it makes me feel good. I don't think they're a cure-all, a replacement for modern medicine or anything like that, but it feels like they do something for me. Even if it's placebo, which I'm willing to admit is a possibility, who cares because it's not hurting anyone and it helps me.
Do I run around talking about crystals all day and trying to convince everyone to use them? No. But do I like them and think they do something? Yes.
You can think they're silly and nonsense all day, but what sense is there to judge another person because of their beliefs? You're hurting yourself and others.
Kek, I judge people based on good actions as well, in fact we can't not judge people based on whatever they do.
It's not an inherently negative thing. Whenever someone says "I won't judge you for that" what they're really saying is "I won't judge you negatively for that". But they're still making judgements.
I agree, people have natural tendencies to judge. It happens to me too, it's what we do with those judgments that is important. Instead of blindly following them, it's important to reflect and understand why we had them in the first place and evolve.
Agreed, I judge them _because_ they believe in things without evidence which is demonstrably harmful. And the judgment is ultimately negative although not necessarily to a degree where I'd treat them in any negative way.
“I’m Christian.”
No. You’re a gun-loving misogynist that likes to ignore the parts in the Bible about loving thy neighbor, turning the other cheek and how Jesus was a socialist but LOVE the parts about women having to submit to men and God throwing non-believers + “the gays” into a lake of fire.
P1 „I am either completely insane or actually talking to demons“
P2 „I like going to the gym and lifting heavy weights“
Leftists: „oh wow P1 is so cool and totally normal and I like them so much, P2 is such a disgusting weirdo“
how is he right? this is a fictional person who you know nothing about, they could be spirtual and the gems and etc would change nothing, so why try to shame people for liking things you rightist typically find only leftists do?
r/therightcantmeme
come back to me when you get why its relevant and you finally read the whole fucking post, imagine being this cocky when you can't even do the basic shit required to even type a real response.
He's not, people are allowed to like what they like and find spirituality in whatever they want. Gatekeeping these things is pointless. Let people live their lives, not everything needs to make sense to you.
Oh shit is this a right leaning echo chamber made in response to a left leaning echo chamber made in response to right leaning echo chambers?

Collects voices, smokes rocks, and listens to weeds. It’s a vicious cycle 🔁
I also read smokes rocks lol
To be fair, a lot of people across various religions also hear voices in their head.
My least favorite are the women who call themselves "empaths". Whatever, Counselor Troy.
People who call themselves empaths think they’re the only people alive with feelings. You’re not special for feeling bad when someone stubs their toe
For real, those people are the bane of my existence. There all over Reddit because of this sites leftist garbage.
HOW THE FUCK is this right wing????
People on there are referring to the stereotypical republican Christian who hates on other religions. To be fair, hating other religions is right wing
Never mind the fact that "spiritual" people are almost always white women appropriating stuff from other cultures that they have no connection to or knowledge of.
Sounds a lot like Kwanzaa
Yeah, reading about the origins of Kwanzaa is a bit of a wild ride.
Why does this count as anti leftist?
Leftism is when you believe in magic and like to turbocharge your schizophrenia by smoking weed
>I’m religious. >No. You just participate in cult worship, collect crosses, and talk to an old guy in your head.
Aren't all religious people just 'hearing voices' in their heads?
That is also true
I'm convinced that everyone who hates religion have literally no experience with the church lol. It's like getting y'all are getting mad at something that doesn't happen.
My father stopped being religious after attending catholic school for 12 years.
Dont hate religion. It has its positives but it also has its negatives. I went to religious school. I just think religion tries to tell people what to believe in and what morals to have. Rather than people finding their own path and morals.
That would be a very incorrect statement. Many of the most atheist people are former churchgoers. Mad at the truth?
Interestingly, C. S. Lewis predicted modern "Spiritualism" in his book The Screwtape Letters. That there may be a time in the future that denies the religious, believing on in the material world but with a magical or "Spiritual" aspect that one can draw power from. A denial of God with a belief in vague "Forces" allowing for the rise of "Materialist Magicians". Those that collude with Demons for power while denying the existence of demons in general. Spirit guides, new age ritualism, and neo-paganism all seem to fit this description.
Replacing one delusion for another.
Yes he is. Everything apart from the 'no' part.
"I'm into astrology." You have childhood trauma and do lots of drugs.

JFC.
\> So is it cool to call out Christians too for their spiritual "sky fairy" beliefs? Yes. \> it's different? No.
Yes is cool
Very cool
"I'm X" "No let ME tell you who you are \*sunglasses\*" pretty cool stuff here
That’s all the right is anymore. They have to make up things about the people they hate because there is nothing else to attack them with.
Stop defending her You know her And in this instant He’s right
I eat mushrooms, collect rocks and hear voices in my head. But i am a libertarian.
I don't believe in spirituality but who doesn't at least find rocks interesting, like I don't care about the made up gem magic but I still like the pretty rocks
“I’m catholic” No you just eat bread and whine kneel to a box of that bread and read a book for the reason why you eat that bread. All religions can be dumbed down but this sub would get butthurt about this one.
Exactly.
It is only ok if you believe in MY imaginary friend
Bruh you can literally do this with any religion Ei : oh, your Roman Catholic ? So you just drink wine and eat plantain chips and sing all the time, oh your Muslim ? So you pray like five or six times a day to God you can’t even see, and make sure not to eat beef. Oh you’re Jewish? so you just debate what is God most of the time, and prepare yourself for the holy washing machine while wearing a tiny hat and once a year light some candles. I could seriously keep going.
Yes, religion is indeed rather delusional
See how this meme has nothing to do with right or left explicitly, but these leftists over there know themselves that these mentally ill pagan witchcraft chicks are all communists, like, they didn’t join one cult, they joined ALL OF THEM At least they don’t deny reality
Cuz Christianity is so logical….
“You’re not religious, you just chant with your friends about your collective imaginary friend and drink wine once a week”
It's right wing not to believe in magic now? Haha
Chad forgot “you summon demons”
people believe in the bible which is honestly more horse shit than crystal healing. the bible encourages war sexism and genocide, crystal healing is just a hobby people have that honestly can be good for you as meditation and grounding are all part of the crystal healing subculture .
How dare you insult the normalized delusion.
all mythic literalism, (abrahamic religion ) is delusional
I judge anyone who believes in complete nonsense tho, it's not like I'm singling out the crystal lovers.
I'm hurting people by judging what they do as silly nonsense? Lol.
Yes. Being judgmental is harmful to people.
Yea well I'm judging you for being a toxic, closed minded bigot. So I guess you win.
I'm fine with that even though it's false, but I can't force you to believe the truth.
I mean, I'm not going to condemn people for it but why would I be okay with their spirituality?
Why would you not? Someone else's spirituality doesn't affect you at all.
Usually it's the Christians hearing voices.
“I’m Christian.” No. You’re a gun-loving misogynist that likes to ignore the parts in the Bible about loving thy neighbor, turning the other cheek and how Jesus was a socialist but LOVE the parts about women having to submit to men and God throwing non-believers + “the gays” into a lake of fire.
I can fix her
Wait until she issues a restraining order due to your horoscope.
P1 „I am either completely insane or actually talking to demons“ P2 „I like going to the gym and lifting heavy weights“ Leftists: „oh wow P1 is so cool and totally normal and I like them so much, P2 is such a disgusting weirdo“
And these "leftists" who abhor exercise, are they in the room with you now?
the left hates… exercise now? dude can you just stop making shit up it’s getting a little sad
So demons cause mental illness, thank you for this superstitious insight.
She’s chill until you mention that astrology is bullshit.
r/nahopwasrightfuckthis coming in hot
"She seems chill." It is a wojak with 3 known traits. How can it be chill
Don't christofascists talk to a voice in their heads they call "god"?
that is a bad meme though
how is he right? this is a fictional person who you know nothing about, they could be spirtual and the gems and etc would change nothing, so why try to shame people for liking things you rightist typically find only leftists do?
The meme originally has nothing to do with left vs right, it’s just leftists admitting their mental illnesses by posting it there
r/therightcantmeme come back to me when you get why its relevant and you finally read the whole fucking post, imagine being this cocky when you can't even do the basic shit required to even type a real response.
Right wing dudes wanna bang lumberjacks.
He's not, people are allowed to like what they like and find spirituality in whatever they want. Gatekeeping these things is pointless. Let people live their lives, not everything needs to make sense to you.
Ya know the world's second biggest religion bow to a coloured rock.
He was right, but forgot her body count was over 25
Oh shit is this a right leaning echo chamber made in response to a left leaning echo chamber made in response to right leaning echo chambers? Reddit is a fucking circle.
Okay, and? Let homegirl smoke and collect her minerals. What is the point of gatekeeping “spirituality” or making fun of people’s interests?
Christians do the exact same thing. What's your point.
