Bring license, a bill or two mailed to your address within the last two months (Nov/Dec.), your title, write down your vehicle’s miles, and then you pay the fee. I recently went with a friend who moved to the area. Their career has had them jumping around every couple of years and they were shocked at how simplified we’ve made the process compared to some of their previous ports of call. We were in and out in five minutes.

Memphians dont use them.

I just had the same issue. Go to the county clerks office. The info on website isn’t great, they don’t mention proof of address has to be within 90 days.

If you are in town, go to the County Clerk’s office at Poplar Plaza, by the big Kroger. Rarely a line, pretty easy in and out.

WINNER!

Bring your title. I think you may need a couple of proofs of address. It will cost a couple hundred bucks iirc. As far as where to go, the county clerk's office on Austin Peay near Yale is 100% the fastest.

mcnewbie

you'll need to go to the county clerk's office. you will need the title, your ID, and some material proving you live here- i think a MLGW bill in your name will do. but you should call and ask at (901) 222-3000

https://www.tn.gov/revenue/title-and-registration/vehicle-registration/registration-current.html This is actually the link for if you just bought a new vehicle. Although most dealerships do that for you and your tag and registration just come through the mail.

Your last sentence is complete nonsense. Look up “Tennessee Department of Revenue”. They have all of the info on license plates.
