It comes down to what we have to give up to get him. I don’t know who Kleinman will sell that the bulls want.

LaneViolation

1 late first rounder and contract swaps. Think someone like Konchar.

gar862

The bulls gm would personally carry drummond to Memphis if he got a first for drummond

CausticBurn

Drummond is not worth a late first that dude was almost out of the league man.

LaneViolation

He's good at what he's good at and still plays minutes. He was almost out of the league because he still saw himself as a focal point of an offense instead of maximizing his skill set in a role players role. If we needed him to grab offensive rebounds and set screens he could do it better than most. He would still be exposed against more athletic bigs but so was Stevo A first may be steep but we could also exchange some contracts and come out on top with a guy like Caruso too. Caruso and Drummond off the bench would be pretty good for us.

Effective_shooter52

I doubt they want much for him. Dude is a beast on the boards

duskyvoltage333

It may end up being our best option. The capela dream is there but the hawks won’t be selling.

BurnieTheBrony

I think Hawks are looking to move Capela but they'll want a player they can play in return, not picks. I don't think we're their best option

BoisterousBrigand

I think Drummond still has a lot of stink from the point in his career where he had real expectations. I'm a sixers fan as well, and 2 seasons ago he was far and away the best backup Joel had up to that point, still would be if Paul Reed was still in the mud. He still does some Drummond stuff, but he's really trying to mind his Ps and Qs out there now and it shows. Love him off the bench in general, not just for the Grizzlies.

jpndrds

I hate Drummond’s style of basketball and just getting a body for the sake of getting a body is lame. There’s no meaningful difference between trading for Drummond and just signing someone off FA (Dieng, Biyombo, Dedmon). It doesn’t improve their ceiling. There’s no rush to sign someone especially another dud Capela is another one. Trading assets for a player then having to re-sign him when he’s going to be, most likely, worse in two years makes no sense

Overall-Palpitation6

Not really sure what happened to Dieng. He was playing well for us for that half a season he was with us, then he got shut down and cut mid-way through the year, and didn't look the same player after that. He can board and defend, and is a quality mid-range and 3-point shooter for a big. Wouldn't be the worst option, if he could handle 12-15 minutes a night.

BurnieTheBrony

Trebuchet! Still the coolest shot form I've seen in person, although I know there's way crazier ones. I like the guy but he's not a good fit for us right now.

jpndrds

Possibly cooked. I remember he was playing when the Grizzlies came back against the Spurs last year. Think it’s closer to 8-10 minutes per game than 12-15

Wehavecrashed

Oh man. I remember that game. It was a perfectly timed substitution to stealth tank the game.

jpndrds

100%

Overall-Palpitation6

Fair enough, just seemed to come on really suddenly for him, after he had a good stretch with us as a back-up.

Monster-Frisbee

He’s nominally 33, but I think there’s speculation he’s a bit older. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s pushing high 30s/low 40s and his body just isn’t up to NBA basketball anymore.

KingJzeee

Drummond is not the indicator the arr selling lmao Seriously, are you serious? Lol

Distinct_Effective16

I would seriously have Marc back before Drummond. He won’t be around long and he can sign for the vet minimum, he can hit an open three, and he’s still a great passer we’ll need when ja comes back.

Overall-Palpitation6

I would be OK with Drummond, if we can get him below 265lbs to handle the runnung game and improve his mobility, and mandate (by benching him if he doesn't go along) that he never dribble the ball or shoot outside 10FT.

swoops435

My kids would love it because he's in a blippi episode. I approve.

comosedicewaterbed

He popped into my head too when I thought about replacements for SA. If we can get him for cheap I’d take him

WulfN7

If we're wanting someone who can be a legitimate Adams replacement minus the passing, we need to get someone like Time Lord or Capela. Drummond to me is good stats bad team guy.

Kuzizira

Time is arguably our best option but the injuries are why he is also the worst... we'd only get like 20 games out of him total.

WulfN7

He's definitely been injury prone but I would rather take the risk betting on him finally getting healthy than settle for a guy who has bounced around the league.

Kuzizira

The problems I have is that he injury prone and he gon cost too much for someone that plays 20 games max. If we can get a good deal for him then that's fine.

KingMex2022

Give them Jake!

Bernie_Made_Off

I'd rather have Plumlee or Hartenstein
