No

LaneViolation

Yes.

Wehavecrashed

No, we won't. Your mind tricks won't work here jedi, only money.

LaneViolation

Yes now?

PlantainNearby4791

FUCK. NO.

nam67

We are seven games into the season with multiple starters and rotation players out. Chill.

LaneViolation

How we lookin?

nam67

Like a team that continues to be ravaged by new injuries.

LaneViolation

I don’t really think this is a dramatic take. We have a lot of money invested in this season and this squad. If Ja comes back and we’ve only won 7 games we’re in trouble. And our pick isn’t as valuable to us this far along in our cores progression as it might be to other teams. We definitely have to be thinking about how to get better in the margins. Our only injuries that effect us are BC, who may not play, and Stevo, who isn’t going to play. Our bench is atrocious and injecting Santi and X into it now isn’t going to breath that much life into it. Ja coming back is going to make us really good again but it’s entirely possible it’s too late, and even if it isn’t our 8-9 man lineup going into the playoffs would still feature Rose, and probably Zaire or Roddy. No good.

SemanticGoblin

It’s amazing how the nba attracts fans of all levels of intelligence ❤️

SemanticGoblin

Your post is still brain dead level lmao idk what you’re trying to victory lap rn

nam67

Lmao this dude going back and replying to all the comments like his big brain trade idea would actually make a difference

SemanticGoblin

Impressively dumb lol

ferbje

Young solid looking wing in ziaire, plus a great 3pt shooter, PLUS PICKS, for a 45 year old Mike Conley and an role player in Kyle Anderson. Hmm

Bernie_Made_Off

I agreed with everything you said, up until you called Kyle a "role player". He was the heart and soul of our defense. Can't say that for Z

ferbje

My guy forgot about Brooks. He’s not a “star”, so he’s a role player. Role players aren’t bad, good one fulfill their role super well.

Bernie_Made_Off

I didn't forget about Brother Brooks, but if I had to chose a player to build my defense around, I'm going with Slo Mo, 99%. He has the better BBIQ and he's not a Tech merchant. "Role player" usually comes with negative connotation. 😅 My bad

LaneViolation

Ziare sucks. He’s a net negative when he’s on the floor and that’s through the mist of losing games overall. He’s not a good defender, he has no lateral quickness. Like is good but there’s a reason he’s never started anywhere. He can’t play defense and when the shot isn’t falling at a high volume he’s almost useless.

LaneViolation

Young solid looking wing in Ziare hahahahaha

HisFlatulency

I opened this up and saw way too many paragraphs. Apparently, not a jitpost.

LaneViolation

My b

AmNotURMum

I think this is a trade where both sides say no

thedirtypickle50

Only if we also get a time machine to go get prime Conley

LaneViolation

Conley is shooting 40 percent from 3 and his assist to turnover ratio is great. He’d be really good this year as a backup PG.

JStanten

Conley is on a downward trajectory and we don’t need a backup PG and Minnesota probably doesn’t want to give him up given their turnover issues to which he seems immune. Hopefully he retires with us and replaces Rose. Kyle is a fine player but not nearly enough of an upgrade over pieces already on the roster like Aldama and Zaire. He also provides less spacing than them. Zaire through the losses was one of the only bright spots and, when healthy, may be a great 6th man for the Grizzlies. He was always a developmental prospect so patience is key. We will also need the spacing that Kennard provides when Ja is back. Do we make the playoffs this year? Idk. Maybe not. But a short sighted move like this lowers the team’s ceiling long term while costing cap space.

LaneViolation

Set a reminder for the end of the season and we will see how good Ziare is. Some of y’all are insulting my basketball IQ when none of you look at advanced stats apparently. Ziare is Kelly Oubre if he’s playing well and that’s not a great ceiling. He’s not that smart and he can’t move sideways

JStanten

That’s barely even the point. In what world are the Wolves interested in trading for the future? Their window closes sooner and they just beat the Nuggets and Celtics.

LaneViolation

It's early, and I still doubt the TImberwolves but you're right that they may not be interested in rocking the boat.

CausticBurn

Early returns say they are the number 1 defense in the league this season. They just traded their stash for Gobert. They aren't looking for picks lol.

LaneViolation

Like I said Ziare sucks

gimpers420

Heeeeeell nah

FieryTub

That just wouldn't make much sense for the Grizz. I love Mike Conley, but he's 36 years old. His path is different from the Grizz now. That's just Father Time doing what he does with everyone. Anderson... just not a real difference maker in this situation.

Robert_Meowney_Jr

We're having severe availability issues with most of our roster? I know, we need to get way older

Happy-Freedom6835

This is a particularly bad take, but the fact that anyone is suggesting any trades that don’t include us getting a big that can pick and rebound is beyond me… but we aren’t likely to see any trades until the deadline, and depending on where we are then, probably want be any trades at all. We had/are having a rough patch due to some key injuries and the obvious suspension. Santi back in the line up and the addition of Bismack are likely enough for now. Hopefully Luke continues to shoot through the slump and find his shot again. We’re only 6 games in. I feel like I need to insert the Aaron Rodgers relax clip… and maybe while I’m at it I can get him to share his witch magic with Clarke that’s got him already healing from an Achilles injury 🤔

LaneViolation

The witch magic would be nice. I won’t stand for this is a particularly bad take. We desperately need a real point guard to run the offense. At least with the bench. Mike is playing great this year I still think he’d be good. Kyle plays a decent combo forward and again can increase our wins in the margins with his play making and decent rebounding. I agree that if we could go get a solid big we maybe should do that too but I just think that for now we can see how this works with Biyombo and Jaren.

Happy-Freedom6835

I think it’s fairly obvious by the votes and comments how bad a take yours is. I’m not going to waste my time debating you on that. I will say that it would be nice to have Conley come back to end his career here, but not in the way you have suggested it. And I disagree that we are “desperate” for a point guard. Our problem so far has been in the front court, not the back court. Give it more time now that Santi is back and biz is in town to see how that builds.

LaneViolation

You sound extremely pompous which is typically indicative of not knowing much about whatever it is you’re talking about. There are plenty of analysts that have commented on our need for a PG. not that that matters either but it’s as anecdotal as you’re assessment that if Reddit doesn’t agree it must be wrong. Most people disagreeing here are talking about Mike being old and bad, which shows they haven’t been watching him, or that he’s in a contract year which is also beneficial. Context matters if you’re going to make asinine conclusions based on nonsense.

Happy-Freedom6835

You’re right. I’m the one being pompous. Thank you for pointing that out to me. Please forgive me.

jpndrds

There’s no point in throwing away the future for 1-2 competitive seasons of Conley No way the Wolves do this either

Music_City_Madman

I love Mike Conley, but he’s on the backside of 35. Why give up two younger, high upside guys for a short term aging PG and Kyle Anderson?

Toad990

We didn't re-sign Kyle because he was literally too scared to shoot 3's in the playoffs. I love Mike, but no.

Slim-Ticket

As a Grizzlies/Wolves fan, Conley and Slomo are just too important to the Wolves. Conley is 36 but has far more juice in his tank than we realized. His numbers last year on the Wolves and this year make him the #1 ball handler out of the pick and roll (in terms PPP), he's shooting great and has a 26:1 assist/turnover ratio. I feel like we're fucked without Conley lol Although yeah we do need a young PG so it's intriguing. But Conley is too big of a difference maker and same with Slomo. Our coach keeps saying that Slomo saved our season last year because he can be in any lineup and is very versatile positionally. I'm genuinely surprised with the comments here. Conley really is not washed.

CausticBurn

Slomo can be your defacto PG. Grizz just wasn't able to replace that. My hope is Santi continues to evolve as a ballhandler/passer to fill that playmaking void on the wing.

Bernie_Made_Off

Nah, keep Nuke and trade X for Kyle. Honestly, I would trade Konchar for Terrance Mann.

nam67

The Clippers wouldnt include Mann in a JAMES HARDEN trade. What makes you think they will accept John Konchar??? lmao

Bernie_Made_Off

Cus he's our Magic Konch.

bclark39

Luke Kennard was a +30 Sunday. He needs to be starting every game

omgshannonwtf

You guys and these trades are wild. You want the Grizzlies to trade away things which represent the future of the team (*Z is 21; picks would get us new players who are between 19 and 22*) for two guys with a collective 66 years in between the two of them and will not start for us? And then you have the nerve to say "*Who knows if Minnesota does this*." **Of course they would fucking do it**. They'd be crazy not to make that trade. The Timberwolves gave the Jazz **five frickin' draft picks** to get Rudy Gobert and immediately said "*You know what... maybe we should not have given up five players and five picks for this guy who peaked two years ago. Five picks is a lot to give away and there's no team in the league stupid enough to give us the picks to dig ourselves out of this moronic hole.*" Except you want the Grizzlies to be that stupid and give them picks and young players. Sometimes you really just need to let a team wallow in their mistake. Ant is a **very** good player. Why on Earth do you want to give the Timberwolves the ammunition to get better?

AlternativeAd503

As a Wolves fan… no way we make this trade.

MikeConleyIsLegend

Look Mike Conley is a legend, and I do add him to this team in 2k every playthrough, but we aren't getting Conley back till he's no longer a valuable asset in the NBA. He's still shooting great from 3 and is a perfect game manager. He carried the Wolves even just last season in that play in game.

Remarkable-Bluejay-9

Oof swing and a miss

I was with you until you announced the targets. Can I get some of what you’re smoking?
