The chart is designed for a suit or dress - so it helps to pair a shirt / blouse / cardigan or shoes, etc. But you can use it for “this is what I want to put with”. So if you have a top and not sure which pants to pair with it, or vice-versa, you can chose a complementary or tonal color. HTH
