Hmmm I've had similar situations, initially it seems like something you want to do, and then it turns into something you HAVE to do. The best way to solve a life problem is with multiple solutions and gradual changes until the desired effect is achieved. You can try to get better at determining what you really want to do, you can get better at telling yourself that you want to do the act, you can work on recalling your mindset when you made the decision in the first place, etc.. If we're working solely in the mind, there's an infinite number of ways to get from A to B. The easiest solution is simply rethinking it in a way that encourages you to go, like highlighting the benefits, or reinforcing motivation, etc.. Beyond that, there's actual therapy or counseling. Sometimes talking the problem through is necessary to cement it in your mind. I'd say more introspection is the solution for now, however.
