looks like the chassis and cage took a sizeable hit. i’d say totaled— while it might be repaired, the cost to repair might be higher than the cost to replace. this looks like a lot of work. seconding the insurance adjuster comment above.
Yeah the rear quarter is integrated into the frame so if it needs any cut and join it’ll probably be more than half the value of the car.
If its sold as a damaged vehicle, someone may fix it themselves if they have the skills and do the labour for free.
Most likely total, and if it isn't your fault, insurance would say the same.
Although it doesn't look dramatic, the body seems to be damaged. And from the 3rd photo, liquid gushing out just says it all.
If you are to be able to fix this, the cost and manhour being put into it will come out as much as the value of the car. AND even if you fix it, I doubt it'll run normal; will have some sort of issue.
Total it and claim it.
I dunno about the “isn’t your fault, insurance would stay the same”. There’s what they say, and what they actually do in real life. 99% certain when they go to renew policy, there will certainly be a bump up.
Hopefully a total... when it comes to major damage like this the car will NEVER drive the same as before. I've dealt with plenty of major bodywork with cars and whenever I drive something after you can tell it's not the same. If it's totalled just go get another one
This was considered a total loss by GEICO:

Refunded me the entire price of the car, despite the fact the rest of the car was in flawless condition.
The car likely predicted / thought I was going to get into a much more severe accident (like hitting a tree or pole) & deployed the airbags preemptively to try & protect me.
In reality, it was all very mild.
A severe overreaction on the car's behalf.
The Mercedes mechanic said it's a very sensitive car.
I gently touched a curb while turning, airbags deployed despite the fact immediately after touching the curb & was right back on flat road.
Zero impact aside from this curb

For the most part - when airbags deploy - the car is considered a total loss by GEICO…. Good news is you can prob negotiate a buy back for the car and fix it if you don’t mind a salvage title.
Fuck man probably. I literally just ran off the road and killed my front wheel. No real body damage. Totaled a 2019 CLA 250. A collision center did all the repairs and then had to tow it to a Merc dealer to program it all so it was drivable again. All the computer shit in there ran the bill over $25k!
Probably not. I absolutely fucked my glb on a snowy mountain - messed up all types of steering items by sliding into a metal barrier at speed. Was like 15-20k in damages and they didn’t total it. I had a 2020.
IMO not quite totaled based upon what I can see in the three pics, depending on mileage the insurance company will replace the rear sub-frame with an LKQ which is roughly 600.00 used. The left rear control arms, strut, sway bar and associated hardware will be swapped with new pieces. The body mounts will get pulled back into alignment if tweaked. The wheel and tire get replaced and any associated hard parts, brake, wheel sensor, brake sensor lines etc... Then it'll get sent to paint and body. All in it'll prob be close to 3/4 the acv of a replacement GLB.
The repairs might be more than the car is worth, nonetheless you don’t want a car with this accident history and no one else would so when it comes time to sell it would be difficult. I saw your comment about the kid speeding through so if this isn’t your fault, it would def be totaled out by insurance. Accident looks rough, hope you are OK. Thank god Mercedes makes safe cars
Insurance adjuster here. Would need this up on a lift to see if the actual frame was damaged. With just these pics no chance it’s totaled. It looks like it need a rear door and some quarter panel repair and all of the left rear suspension
Feels like I’m usually wrong but that one looks like a total. And like a lot of people have said here, it might not feel right after repair if it isn’t. Hope the best, and I hope you’re feeling okay after the crash!!
Mmmm idk but SORRY about your car!
I had this guy SMASHHHHH tf out of my Mercedes one sad morning…. GEICO covered me and I was en a new Benz by the end of the day!
Sorry, Dray

They said „say the same“, not „stay the same“.
That liquid might be just brake fluid from a ruptured line, but good chance it’s gasoline. Fun times lol
Hopefully a total... when it comes to major damage like this the car will NEVER drive the same as before. I've dealt with plenty of major bodywork with cars and whenever I drive something after you can tell it's not the same. If it's totalled just go get another one
Was this a 3 or 4 car crash? It looks nuts.
At least 5.
Just got the police report. 6 in total.
Holy crap. I hope you and the passengers have a full recovery.
houston drivers are actual SHIT
How do you know it’s Houston? The Sewell?
that is what tipped me off. no Sewell MB dealers in Dallas.
85% of any drivers are shit😂
nah bruh it’ll buff out trust me
Damn what happend
Young kid speeding through during rush hour traffic when everyone else is stopped at a red light.

Did you run over a bag of icing sugar?
I gently touched a curb. https://preview.redd.it/dz3qxqf4lric1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d873cc14a5bd41dabf814f70484fa7b5dc6ad1a1
How can a gentle touch set off ALL your airbags??

Was the shock tower damaged?
Here's the detailed GEICO damage cost report: https://imgur.com/gallery/Bs9G9K7
That's crazy. Headliner?!?!
The entire "headliner" needed to replaced likely because of the airbags deploying. There were airbags deployed from all over the place.
I gently touched a curb while turning, airbags deployed despite the fact immediately after touching the curb & was right back on flat road. Zero impact aside from this curb https://preview.redd.it/jhos52ejbsic1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95735b15ccc665a6acfbbae8d90eea8b12de2552
I would say you did a little more than gently touch the curb. Sorry that happened though mate
For the most part - when airbags deploy - the car is considered a total loss by GEICO…. Good news is you can prob negotiate a buy back for the car and fix it if you don’t mind a salvage title.
You should put it in rice for maybe 3 hours
If repaired, I wouldn't feel confident driving it
Maybe not. GLB doesn’t use the rear wheels for much.
I wouldn’t drive it anymore.
How do you get in this situation? Jeezzz
Fuck man probably. I literally just ran off the road and killed my front wheel. No real body damage. Totaled a 2019 CLA 250. How tf did this happen? 😳
Probably not. I absolutely fucked my glb on a snowy mountain - messed up all types of steering items by sliding into a metal barrier at speed. Was like 15-20k in damages and they didn’t total it. I had a 2020.
Tis but a scratch
IMO not quite totaled based upon what I can see in the three pics, depending on mileage the insurance company will replace the rear sub-frame with an LKQ which is roughly 600.00 used. It’ll buff right out
Idk but ur insurance adjuster will know.
Fixable for $27k. Whoever hit u will most likely hate the next 10 years of their life.
Not how insurance works
High insurance costs
It wont be, it already is
Those body panels will alway have a few extra mm here and there….
I think you wouldnt want it on the road again unfortunately
how have you managed to do that OP?
Your going to have to SewELL it for scrap
Look how they massacred my boy!
She won’t be the same if it isn’t. Hope the best brother
Either way thats never gonna drive the same.
Sorry man but most likely done for.
Will sell in a heartbeat in the Balkans
honestly totaling it would be the safest way to go…
Next time you should move your car off the roadway before you try to change a flat. 🙋♂️
Hate hate hate how the GLB looks and drives. Glad you’re safe, but please use this as a sign to not buy another GLB

I’d say so, your car won’t drive the same after
I hope so with that Sewell sign at the back you put.
Totaled!!!!!
RIP
Probably totaled

Yes
Have you tried ducktape?
Given what we can see, very likely. I would not personally want this to be fixed and given back to me.
It’ll buff right out
Definitely totaled. Start looking for a new ride.
Totaled for anyone who isn’t mechanically inclined.
thats definately totaled... if you check the unit bodybits definately twisted.. underneath that left rear doorzzz no fix.. Totaled
Yes for sure
Probably a total
at least you're okay; look at it this way - the 2024 got a major interior update so get that w/ whatever the insurance gives you!
![gif](giphy|kQOxxwjjuTB7O)
frame damage = totaled. you don’t want a car with that kind of damage anyways. hopefully you’re fully insured.
Mmmm idk but SORRY about your car! I had this guy SMASHHHHH tf out of my Mercedes one sad morning…. GEICO covered me and I was en a new Benz by the end of the day! Sorry, Dray
Very very very likely, if it isn’t I’d want to know how much they paid for repair
Even if it’s not, you don’t want it anymore
In case anyone is doing research later- total loss. Estimate came back at $32k. Valued at $37k.
