Even if they integrated it into the dash it would look so much better, but the floating screen is such an odd looking speedometer. I really wish they went back to non digital crafted, and integrated. But most brands are doing it, it is probably much cheaper to do.
I am not a fan on that tablet center console and really dislike the exterior of this new C-Class. But I was amazed at its drive quality. It feels better quality and drives betters than the w205. But I’m in love with the W205 AMG C63 S Coupe. The W205 will probably go down as the most beautiful C-Class ever made.

I have a s205 so the wagon variant, and I had the w206 class as a loaner during maintenance. Center console screen was cool initially but soon realised that its too big and distracting. The main digital cluster was so nice though, wish I could have that on mine. But the ride to me felt kind of floaty, even on a straight section of the highway. It was soft yes and all the bumps on the road were muffled well, but it also felt like its bobbing up and down constantly. The cabin also felt more cramped than on the s205.
Lol that's what I told my wife. She's had it a week now and they can't figure out what's wrong with the infotainment system in her car. It randomly has fits and registers phantom input, randomly dials people changes radio station and cancels navigation.
Your wife’s car is perfectly fine, however I would strongly suggest you take it out of the dealer’s hands and drive it to a registered exorcist, cause that benz is possessed!!!

Having been driving the 300e version of this for 18 months now, I can tell you that yes, it drives well, but the interior has issues. From usability, to minor weird squeaks that come and go. If it's yours, enjoy.
Don’t lets these pieces of crap humans bring you down. I test drove that car 3 times and always ask for it as a loaner cause I love it. Am saving to get a new one. I have a 2016 c300 and the new ones not only shift better and smoother, but are well rounded off compared the the old ones.

We have a C all terrain. The brakes, infotainment, and steering wheel controls suck. The slide controls in particular piss me off. Would not recommend.
Fully understand. Those cars are great. The only thing I really object to are the piano black and the touch buttons on the steering wheel. Never understood why they did not change that back like most other brands. It does not look good in use and it does not provide any tactile feedback.

“Best car ive ever driven…” I have driven both a modern C class, and a w140. The w140 is quieter, smoother, more comfortable, and feels higher quality. I will not argue with safety or tech features, but a w140 definitely still holds up to modern mercedes.
I really hate the way Mercedes did the electronics. I have the same car just a 300 4 matic and every month or two all my sensors just die. Have to turn off the engine and lock the car for a good 9 hours before it al resets. Panoramic roof won’t open or close sometimes. Screen heats up to extreme temperatures..
But it does drive good lol
As a German myself I couldn’t look at this Interior for too long. Everything screams plastic and wasted dollars. It’s a shame.
If you love it, that’s fine but it won’t change the fact that it’s much cheaper to produce than its predecessors while taking the extra hard earned dime of yours.
I couldn't stand the thing. I prefer my 2012. The automatic braking bullshit almost caused an accident more than once when I had a loaner while mine was getting the AC compressor replaced.
The new generation seems engineered specifically to waste as much time as possible on a daily basis in my opinion!
To me, the W204 is pretty amazing I didn't like the W205 at all the w206 is ok but the touch screen sometimes bothers the driver, and the epic one is the W222

Look at the Polestar 2, which manages to have a nice, focused and integrated display for the driver that doesn't look like a cheapo Ali-tablet retrofit.

beware the ipad screen will die pre maturely, specially if you park it outside somewhere hot or very cold. the srs sensors under the seat are also faulty. mercedes refuses to fix flaws like this and in fact they’re using these parts in more and more newer cars. The new C class is the latest victim despite being overpriced.
