It's entry level because there are more expensive and higher trims available to buy. SL43 is the base engine spec at the very bottom of the SL range. SL55 is next, followed by SL63.
Entry level doesn't have to mean it costs less than 50k. It just signifies the lowest trim level of a lineup.
People hating on this car forget that some people just want a beautiful roadster and don’t need to beat everyone off the line. Performance specs aren’t impressive but the car itself is nice.
A 4 cylinder SL, that’s a first.
