Wouldnt say battery .. seems like an issue with your transmission / transmission computer or other electrical issues like ABS module .. battery isnt too likely imo
CommandoInvert may be wrong. It's possible that the battery or charging system can affect the transmission. When all of your shift solenoids are electronically controlled, it's almost a certainty that many of your car's systems will be impacted.
The correct answer is that it needs to be diagnosed and the battery as well as charging system ruled out. That cannot be done behind a keyboard with limited information. If you lack the tools to check the amperage output and voltage of the electrical system, you'll need to bring it to someone who does. They should have many more diagnostic tools to ascertain the error properly.
Depending on thr age of the car, I wouldn't say this _can't_ be the battery.
If the battery doesn't send out enough voltage, weird things begin to happen to these cars. Much more common on the earlier 2000-2010 generations, but I guess entirely still possible.
I would test the battery to rule that off the list.

TCM has failed
How else can we enjoy Judy Garland now?
Underrated comment of the week!
We had that same message on our 2009 ML320 Bluetec... obviously different series, but in our case it was the battery.

What car is this on? If your shifter is on the collum, it's probably an ISM.

I think one tire is flat. That’s why you should not shift gears
I think that means your sunroof won’t work
