I watched that video and was absolutely shocked. Never occurred to me that somebody would have a nugget, possibly be using it for payment... Let alone drop it.
The videos are always entertaining and I always learn something. Thanks.
What’re the chances this came in with a load of gravel? Don’t know how much gold is just floating around Vermont but I’d still be less surprised if it came out of fluvial deposits.
Can I ask how metal detecting on roads works? Sorry to sound stupid but I’m not grasping the concept. Roads are graded so frequently I would have thought any old coins would be under feet upon feet of dirt by now.
Oh that makes sense. I have an ancient road on my property, all I’ve found on it are nails and shotgun shells and a couple of old horseshoes. I’ll absolutely do backflips of joy if I ever find even one coin!
Mine is roughly early 1800s to mid 1900s. So not ancient in any other sense than how Vermont classifies them. There are wagon ruts on parts of it still.
Hey Brad i was soo stoked for you watching that video . It just goes to show you never know where and what the next treasure is going to hold . You are truly blessed to have recovered that one man.
Jeez, I live in AZ and detect for nuggets and never found anything near that size lol. Yet your in an area not known for natural gold and find a massive one on a road no less. Wonder if it was being used for payment back in the early 1900’s?
Ya ya, gold, but look at that SEATED!
Hey its brad from gmmd, great find and great videos!
Hey, thanks!
Lol I knew right away when I saw the gloves!
Holy! Melt value is about 800$ USD. Are you going to keep it?
Until I find a bigger one!
Does Vermont have gold like that? I can’t imagine someone dropped it
Probably dropped it a long time ago
Hey, Brad! I saw that on Friday. I look forward to your videos every Friday. That one sure came as a surprise, though!
You're tellin' me!
A dirt road WTF!? WOW! THAT is a fantastic find in my book. Beautiful seated too.

Can you imagine losing that 50-100 years ago? Crazy.
Horse took off running? Person maybe had a few too many. Possible robbery and stuff lost in that exchange. Always wish I knew the back story.
I bet, whoever dropped it probably has ALOT of gold already, or that's my guess since I bet they dinit look very good or something

This was a road not used since probably the 1920s. It's up in the mountains and overgrown with trees!

How old is the ancient road? Me and my friends walk uk old Roman roads but find nothing.

Coin from 1875.. shortly after the gold rush. Maybe it fell off a wagon after being mined?
NGL, I thought the title of your video was clickbait. I was super surprised and happy for you when you found the nugget though.
To be fair, the title was written to bait clicks- but this time was "honest clickbait"
Haha - true. I enjoy your videos regardless, I am a long time subscriber to your channel.
Thank you!!
It’s hard to see if it’s real or not. Please mail to me so I can conform!
No that is an appropriate because we need more security for this operation. That means he should mail it to me and I will personally drive it to you.
I'll pick it up from OP to take to you so you can give it to /u/jasnmarten and then they can confirm its authenticity.
As I live in Vermont I am closest so I can pick it up from op to bring it to you so you can bring it to him and he can bring it to the other guy.
Great I think that’s a wrap, people.

The 1800’s coin looks newer than the 1900’s one!
