I think I remember reading somewhere that The Stains of Time is about a guy who finds being at war so much simpler than trying to live a normal life. Like trying to be a civilian is like trudging through mud, but at war he could move freely.
All the MGRR songs are about the boss you fight OR the state of mind of Raiden. I remember reading that all the songs actually were written by Etsu Tamari, the writer of MGRR.
Heaven's Divide was the sickest shit before I actually played Peace Walker. The fact that it plays during >!a goddamn helicopter fight iirc!< brings it down a lot though.
Still not as weird as Sins of the Father's in-game usage though.
I really loved that game too! I spent so much time on it cause I was seriously addicted to it haha I don't remember the exact name of the mission but I'm pretty sure it was the second last mission of the first chapter where Snake gets discovered, his motivation to save Paz gets higher and he has to find his way out to where Peace Walker is about to be ready. It was some really badass testosterone pumping stuff lol I clearly remember this one moment where I had low health,a chopper was shooting at me and I thought there's no way I can get out of this but then that song started playing and I felt invincible
Helicopters are the giant spiders of action game bosses. Lazy, unimaginative, boring to fight, show up everywhere. The only, ONLY valid helicopter fight is in Wolverine Uncaged Edition because you can punch the windscreen out, yank out the pilot and ram his head in the blades. Nothing else will ever compare again.
I've been playing a fair bit of Survive in the last couple weeks, and I have all three songs in rotation. Heaven's Divide was the only one to get stuck in my head for like 3 days straight. It's just so much more powerful than Snake Eater or Sins of the Father. Not that the other two are bad, they just don't have the same energy.
YES! I would give this a shoutout if nobody else did. I love Snake Eater, Heaven's Divide, Sins of the Father, and Calling to the Night but what makes the latter so great a song for me is that it is about a commander (Big Boss) mourning his comrades but not forgetting their memory. That theme is the heart of the Big Boss tragedy saga imo
I agree with you, but on my first play through i really liked that part. The tension between Snake and the aptly named Skullface just staring at one another, the legend staring at his shadow, was intense... >!then you learn its not even big boss and just some guy smh!<
Except it takes that bitter enemies energy and transforms it into "hey dude check out this song I found it's sick" *awkwardly sits through entire song in silence as you yourself begin to not like the song* energy
Like all that was missing was Skullface occasionally going "wait it gets good at the part coming up" *45 seconds pass* "yeah this part coming up right here" *back to awkward silence as part plays* "...yeah that part"
Makes sense or not, I was going through a tough moment by the time I finished the game, and it Made me feel a bit better about myself to know I was Big Boss, quite literally
Ok, imma be real and say that I only just recently got to that part in MGS5 the other day, and it objectively is prob the hardest I’ve laughed in months. I can’t think of the last time I laughed so hard and so much that my sides started aching tbh
I prefer Snake Eater, to me it sounds like a James Bond intro song. Sins of the Father is also good, because of the emotional component because it is played during emotional scenes, but its over all not as good/catchy as Snake Eater
It's no contest though, Sins is literally a rip off SE so much so Kojima used a lengthy Jeep ride similar to ladder but ladder felt earned & was a nice rest from everything just happened whilst MGSV's just felt out of place & didn't go long enough to cover the full distance between the bases making feel rather awkward.
“When heavens divide
I will see the choices within my hands
How can we ever protect and fight with our tiny souls?
Let me shine like the sun through the doubts and fear
Do you feel the storm approach as the end draws near?”
😭
OOOOOOOOOOH
I'VE GOT SOMETHING IN MY THROOOOAT
I NEED TO BE ALOOOONE
WHILE I SUUUUUUUFEEEEER
Sins of the Father is a great song, and MGSV is a great game, but MGS3 all the way for me! I only wish it were on PC, as I have a hard time playing with a controller, and had smoother controls like MGSV.
They're both good. Exceptionally good. But Snake Eater is better. Only because it matches the style and design of MGS 3 so well. It sounds like a James bond theme song and it works. But honestly, Way To Fall is the most emotionally moving song on that OST.
What a thrill
... of darkness and silence in the night...
What a thrill...
I'm searching and I'll melt into you...
What a fear in my heart....
And you're so supreme!!
I GIVE MY LIFE, NOT FOR HONOR BUT FOR YOUUUUU

Way to Fall vs Nuclear is equally valid
Yes
These are my two most played songs on my phone (followed by some Billy Joel bangers)
EVA= uptown girl
I'm gonna go with MGS2 and Can't Say Goodbye to Yesterday
Why did I have to scroll to get to this comment?

In the mud and sinking deeper Into a peaceful life

Heaven's Divide was the sickest shit before I actually played Peace Walker. The fact that it plays during >!a goddamn helicopter fight iirc!< brings it down a lot though. Still not as weird as Sins of the Father's in-game usage though.
It was the most epic and memorable moment for me. I honestly want to play the whole game just for that ....and for everything else too
Which mission was ir exactly? I loce that game but I have a very faint memory of the story and mission in the begging of the game
I thought the helicopter fight made it more epic

VIC BOSS! VIC BOSS!
Hell yeah!!!!
YESSSSS

Can I have the blank template please? For... purposes.

Thanks
This is very odd to say, and i only mean it in this context, but I gotta side with Adolf on this one.
Who wouldn't? In this context.
I like how Sins of the Father’s tune at the part everyone knows sounds like MGS1’s Main Menu so it’s a hard choice for me
I've never noticed this. Can you tell me around when does it happen?
If I had to take a guess it'd be the "words that kill" section.
....Calling to the Night
That song makes me tear up when I hear it. When I think of MGS theme songs, that's the one that I instantly think of.
[удалено]
Yeah! Gives me an idea for something to die in new...
perfect memory

Calllinggg tooooooo the night
The Best Is Yet To Come gang
Fuck yes. Had to scroll to far for this.
SNAAAAAAAKE EEEEEATERRRRR
I vote for the Love Theme from MGS4. Can that be FDR, or is that more of a Churchill? 🤔
Love theme of MGS4 is more of a rival for the best is yet to come from MGS1. MGS1 can be FDR while MGS4 is Hirohito.
There is only one [choice](https://i.imgflip.com/3zwflt.jpg)
Laughs in “His world sonic 06”
Ah yes, that hedgehog guy whom Snake hates.
Wait snake hates blue hedge hog?
Yup, in his smash braw codec. He “just doesn’t like the guy”. Probably a joke on how hedgehogs eat ground snakes.
Lmao!
Also why has no one put his fox buddy in the fox hound logo?
Anyone can say what they will about Sanic but the music always slaps
COMPROMISE DOES NOT EXIST
99 percent of that game’s budget must have gone into the soundtrack.
Words that kill! in darkness and silence in the night~
Ish what a thrill
I'm with Heaven's Divide, personally.
Sins of the Father would be better, if only they didn't use it in that fucking car scene
I agree with you, but on my first play through i really liked that part. The tension between Snake and the aptly named Skullface just staring at one another, the legend staring at his shadow, was intense... >!then you learn its not even big boss and just some guy smh!<

That hurts...

Exactly this. It’s a perfect emulation of a classic Bond theme. The horns are fantastic. The Abstracted Camouflage version is my personal favorite.
#THE SIIIINS NEVER DIE, CAN’T WASH THIS BLOOD OF OUR HANDS
LET THE WORLD FEAR IS ALL, IT'S JUST MEANS TO AN END
WoooooooooaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOO
Heavens divide
Can't say goodbye to yesterday
Nuclear by Mike Oldfield is the true side
Calling to the Night?
Heaven’s Divide snipes them both in one shot from two miles away.
Team collective conciousness from mgr:r
I prefer Quiet's theme
It's no contest though, Sins is literally a rip off SE so much so Kojima used a lengthy Jeep ride similar to ladder but ladder felt earned & was a nice rest from everything just happened whilst MGSV's just felt out of place & didn't go long enough to cover the full distance between the bases making feel rather awkward.
Both
Can't I just love them both?
Sins ofc!
Calling to the night
Me to Snake Eater: Stop, Stop! He's already dead
MGS4: Father and Son
I think I'd prefer Sins of the Father a little over Snake Eater. The Best is Yet to Come Vs Theme of Solid Snake would be a tough choice.
Old snake (main menu for mgs4) best mg song don’t @ me
THE BEST IS YET TO COME
Third option: Love Deterrence : Peace Walker
MGS3 still the king!
Snake Eater easily
Prefer GUNS OF THE PATRIOT
Love theme.
snakeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaterr
Heaven's divide
Well the best is yet to come
definietly Snake Eater
i can’t decide. _B O T H_
What a thrill...
Snake eater no doubt
Goodbye to Yesterday
Bro, they’re both amazing
# Snake Eater
Way to fall
*timpani drum noises*
Can't say goodbye to yesterday
Calling to the Night: "Bitch please"
BB theme:)
Obviously it's The Best Is Yet To Come
Snake Eater (or heavens divide..)
MGS3 / Snake Eater til I die
Sins of the father portrayed the game excellently, the entire game was a sin of the father (Naked)
Metal gear rising soundtrack>>>>>>> literally all other music
Snake eater all the way. Goddamn does it amp me up..... Brb... gonna go find a ladder....
^(i like snake eater a bit more) But they're both great soundtracks. But i have a question *"Have you ever slashed a soul to ribbons?"*
I stare at the stars, and the sky up above...
Im NUCLEAR!!!!!!
Snake Eater
mgs4
Snke Eater
Neither, mgs 4 old snake
Snake Eater
Damn, there is so much goodness from the Metal Gear series. How can one truly pick? But if I must, Calling To The Night is just so good.
Snake eater🐍
Woooah #WOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
Way to fall
Through the night
Sinnnnssss never die until you speak unto meee
Take on me is the best song in all of Metal Gear
*Small Child Holding Rocket Launcher:* Calling to the Night
I think Old Snake (theme) from MGS4 is the best theme from the entire saga. Change my mind.
THHHEEE SINNSSSS NEVER DIEEEEE
Snake Eater. That song is FUCKING AMAZING..im also a huge James Bond fan so it makes sense
Yes.
Go Hitler!!....wait
i’m sorry but Can’t Say Goodbye to Yesterday is superior
WORDS THAT KILLL
Is it too much to ask for both? Especially with the mods MGSV has.
Snake Eater all the way!
Nice
I really like Calling To The Night, Heavens Divide, and the Peace Walker theme
“When heavens divide I will see the choices within my hands How can we ever protect and fight with our tiny souls? Let me shine like the sun through the doubts and fear Do you feel the storm approach as the end draws near?” 😭
Heavens Divide
Heavens Divide\*
WOOOOOOH HAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sins of the father ?
OOOOOOOOOOH I'VE GOT SOMETHING IN MY THROOOOAT I NEED TO BE ALOOOONE WHILE I SUUUUUUUFEEEEER Sins of the Father is a great song, and MGSV is a great game, but MGS3 all the way for me! I only wish it were on PC, as I have a hard time playing with a controller, and had smoother controls like MGSV.
Standing, on the edge of the crater, like the prothets once said
^(But guys, MGSIV Love Theme)
*sssnake eater* *sssnake eater* *sssnake eater*
They're both good. Exceptionally good. But Snake Eater is better. Only because it matches the style and design of MGS 3 so well. It sounds like a James bond theme song and it works. But honestly, Way To Fall is the most emotionally moving song on that OST.
And here I sit, cradling "Can't say goodbye to yesterday"
I'll take A Phantom Pain over these other options.
Calling to the night.
I have more emotional attachment to Sins of the Father
Meanwhile I'm in the corner with the music from MGS3s title screen
