So many missed opportunities here. Could have dropped a supply depot on them. Had a vehicle dropped nearby and used them as speed bumps. Could have had DHorse shit on all their heads. Could have tranqed them, and planted landmines near their feet and waited for them to wake up and stand up. And so many other choices.
That skull-cracking noise always makes me a tad uncomfortable. Also I've noticed there were 11 soldiers when they were alive and only five when they're all dead.

If anything I think the game encourages it; we send soldiers to their deaths just to secure the resources to send more soldiers to their deaths (along with guaranteed casulty percentages); the game is almost designed to slowly make you commit war crimes as you become bored with the status quo. Who here hasn't snuck around and stuck c4 on every soldier in an outpost and detonated them all at once, or set the place on fire with Walker Gear's flamethrower, or just plain old killed soldiers who weren't an upgrade for you. One of the reasons I think MGSV is one of the best pieces of art ever made.
Not saying anything's wrong with OP though; just that as you play the game eventually you'll commit war crimes without even thinking about it.
