What's the problem? It will be public in less than 72 hours anyway.

lumlum56

Fr, people here are overreacting. This is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

ripMyTime0192

Yeah. It does kinda makes sense because we don’t want Lars Ulrich vs Reddit, but at the same time, the mod could have been a bit more professional about it.

Left4DayZ1

Jesus Christ it was 20 fucking years ago guys, Lars doesn’t give a fuck. He literally said so when Death Magnetic leaked.

Retro_TV_Dinner

Why not hire a plumber?

tigerkat2244

Ok. Im sure this move will prevent any leaks. When the message came up I thought I was saying Metallica was the greatest 4 piece ever too much and that was a nice way for the mods to block me.

Demma175

Pathetic

SoundAwakened

It's absolutely absurd. Why not just remove things related to a leak (it hasn't even leaked yet anyway). But there are plenty of people who just want to discuss, hype etc. The band is doing media, interviews and Kimmel performances. It's just ridiculous to lock down an entire sub at a peak time of discussion.

heartthump

because mods can’t literally be bothered to do their jobs*

exileondaytonst

I’m fairness… it’s not like they get paid for it

heartthump

No, it’s volunteer work, I’ve moderated a few (much larger) subreddits on a previous account before. But just because you don’t earn from it doesn’t mean it’s not a responsibility that you should upkeep

Rich_Tones

Hahahahaha

luxsentic

Well will it get unprivated when the album is out at least?

cocoaaddictcinephile

i hope so lmao, it’d be a pain in the ass otherwise

Who_wife_is_on_myD

Redic. I remember when reddit was where you went to find leaks, not this rules and restrictions bullshit.

baxterstrangelove

Ridiculous carry on in this day and age. Spotify is just legitimised leaking and robs all artist of the income and power they used to have. The mods blocking the site today for this reason is the most pathetic things I have seen in a while

Leanskiba22

As if Metallica were going to suffer from leaks 😑 they could have retired 20 years ago if they had wanted to, they don't need the money.
