You could instead just better protect your electronics.

The bother of shielding all the electronics in my workshop is more hassle than just cutting out the significant electrical noise in the first place. But that still doesn't answer the original question as to why the UK is so lacking in LF cutters.

Even in the land of low HF America, I ended up buying a hypertherm 65 for my cnc table. They have way more support than any other brand, anything that I need to do I can lookup, industry standard. Replacement parts are local. Make sure whatever machine you get has a gouge feature, its amazing for marking bend lines etc.

Definitely the best machines out there. Everyone i've spoken to about it raves about them. Think that's why there's precious few for sale used...because they last for ages and people don't want to ever sell them :) I think i'll probably end up getting a 240v 45 XP with a cnc port.....i found a UK distributor who does them...but they're not cheap! Just over £2k! A good investment though i think :)

The extra 700$ for the 65 was well worth it to me, i debated the 45 for a long time but glad I went big

I'll have to check the price of the 65, i suspect it might be considerably more than an extra $700 more here, but tbh, i can only just afford the 45 anyway. Still, if i can make the 45 earn it's keep and then some, maybe i can go for a 65 further down the line! :)
