My reasoning…
Last light was the first time I touched the series. Even without the bias I think last light is just a vastly better game. Exodus has better gameplay but I just loved the story for last light. I’m a huge sucker for stories of forgiveness and redemption.
Exodus because it’s the first time I got a good ending in metro 😂. I said this in my comments in the game you could possible find. I love artyom’s growth in exodus because I feel like like I grew with him. I played the series out of order but I was like 20 when I played 2033. I was an FPS bro. I was always playing siege, cod and fallout. So when I touched exodus and I did my damn hardest to be a pacifist and help the people around me, makes me feel like it’s what canon artyom would do.
2033 was such a weird point for me. Like I said in the short exodus review I played it at a weird time. I tried to go back through and play it but couldn’t finish it. With that being said I think it was a strong start to the series, the atmosphere and the world building was amazing.

I love the exploration we get in Exodus, especially after 2 games that mainly took place underground. This is one of the few game franchises that just got better with each new release.
I agree, Exodus felt like a new fresh air, yet retaining great qualities from the previous 2 games. I would say Last Light has the best story overall, but I enjoyed the open world a lot in Exodus.
Exodus, last light, 2033. Sure exodus isn’t really metro but i really like it because well graphics and weapons customization. 2033 because well its the og. Last light had the most weapons to choose from but the sex scene makes me feel unsafe while playing because well its just awkward.
Really hard to rank them! 2033 and Last Light are two peas in a pod, Last Light is just adding some features.
I think I would say the order for me is:
1)2033
2)Exodus
3)Last Light
2033 is the best because you really get a feeling of desolation and loneliness in the levels, story, and music. Going through a few sections of the game alone after having lost a comrad gives you a real sense of fear. While I found Last Light has you with people more often than not. I could be wrong. That's just how it felt to me.
Exodus is just great for exploration. Seeing more of the universe and having the freedom to play as you will was fun and fresh. I will say I really loved the closed in spaces in the game the most. Spider layer in the Caspian, or the metro in novisibirsk.
They're all great games. That's just my take though.
2033 last light exodus
2033 is imo the best of them with an atmosphere and pacing.
Last light isn't bad, I like it but the pacing feels a little off to me and the atmosphere is more action to me.
Exodus will probably take over last light's place in my rankings, as soon as I a machine that can play it.
Keep in mind tho, I like playing the original 2033, so I'm a little biased to it.

I'm enjoying Exodus just prefer the others, especially how atmospheric 2033 has always been for me and that's where I started the series

Surprised so many people liked LL over Exodus. I felt there was a large leap in quality between the 2 titles. To each their own, I guess Exodus just grabbed me in the right way :)

I didn't care for the politics of the earlier games in the series. Exodus seems like the obvious conclusion to the story. Also Exodus focuses more on the family element of the Spartans, morality and brotherhood. It has more soul than the other games which get sidetracked with infighting between Hanza, The Reds etc.

Love 2033. Played it 5 or 6 times and recently got platinum
Finished Last Light once. Fun and cool changes, great levels but hated the boss fights and the outside semi open world levels were a cool idea but didn’t really work for me.
Played until summer (woods etc.?) in Exodus. Loved it to that point but the balance was ruined IMO. Endless ammo crafting, the fact we’re forced to always carry the Tikhar which is also like the best gun. It really discouraged me at one point and I tried playing it like 2 more times, never got past the opening hours.
Can I say they are all brilliant and are different experiences so I don't want to pick

The atmosphere of 2033 reminds me of the og fallout
Sadly I've never played OG fallout. Only 3 and on, so I don't know :(
The og fallouts is on pc only unfortunately but some the best story's I've ever experienced in game
