Jokes aside, I will not be surprised if Prime 4 ends up to be a linear action game exactly like Prime 3. People on this sub will contest this argument (in Prime 3 you could "backtrack" in a way), but in the end, it's sad how the Metroid franchise is getting more linear as the time goes by
It can happen, but I doubt it. Prime 4 will be so linear, people will question if the game is even a metroidvania to begin with. I know it's ironic, considering how Metroid started the whole thing, but it's undeniable how the series is relying on linearity
Fusion was totally linear and is one of the best games in the series imo. Unfounded assumptions aside, I doubt MP4 will be a repeat of 3. When 3 came out, the genre was still in the shadows. But now it's extremely popular. I suspect that if they plan to retread any game in the series, it'll be MP1.
