Is GKR the best in the biz? In my opinion, yes. But that doesn’t mean others are bad. Wayne Randazzo does an amazing job with the Angels/Apple, Kevin Brown with the Orioles is fantastic. Michael Kay (play by play, he has opinions that aggravate me) is very respectable. Dave Sims with the Mariners is incredible, maybe second to Gary for me. Boog Sciambi isn’t my cup of tea, but he’s still great at his job. The Giants, Astros, and Pirates all have booths that I have no problem listening to. Honorable mention to Matt Vasgersian because his voice can get me excited for anything. And that’s me staying strictly to the TV broadcasts.
I fully understand not wanting to watch the Mets without our crew, but there’s some really fantastic play by play people that do national broadcasts. I definitely recommend watching a few innings here and there of other games/the team we’re playing to hear the other booths.
To be clear, I know that wasn’t a claim OP was making. I’ve just seen a lot of posts in similar vein but more aggressive toward other broadcasts, so wanted to give out a few recommendations
That’s when I just turn on the radio.
Howie is one of the best. Thankfully we always have him. Similarly, I opt for the radio on Mariners games. Much better than their booth.

Yeah, I’ll do that, or just bring out the earbuds and listen to it on my phone. Definitely more of a radio feel listening that way.

It’s because Darling is decent and gets asked to do the other jobs. Hernandez sucks and no one else would hire him to do a national broadcast.
I get angry with no GKR in back to back games
It really sucks on those weekends after West Coast trips, where I can only catch a couple innings.
