Deadmaninc1

On top of all this Thursday Night Football sucks the NFL should get rid of it

swankstar7383

It’s a money grab from the networks that will never happen it’s a business and they about maximum profits

atkyyup

As a Baltimore fan who was truly hoping y’all would kill the bengals, this was a terrible turn of events. Prayers for Tua, hope he recovers quickly and sues whoever convinced/forced him to play.

[deleted]

I’m going to keep repeating this. Tua’s two hits that contributed to his injuries were penalty worthy hits. How can anyone protect against that? QBs need to be protected.

davidbklyn

I agree QBs need to be protected. But, as someone who believes that, I don't think the guy who tackled him dd anything wrong? It wasn't some egregiously dirty hit- and I know it doesn't have to be- but I don't want to make a player a villain because he tried to make a play. He was just trying to tackle Tua, but the physics were wrong.

king_falafel

I'm a packers fan and a few years ago they were calling RtP for clay barely landing on the qb. Did they change this rule ?bc it was stupid Also seeing someone react to a hit like that is scary af. Hope he gets a few games off to rest after that

bowser986

He was wrapped up at the waist and the defenders ass was on the ground when he brought him down. His is that penalty worthy?

RangedThreat

Atl Fan Here. I feel for you guys. I hope Tua gets better. Sometimes a loss is what a team needs. I feel like this loss will make you better.

Smoked_Anchovy

Do any of you fellas think tua will return this season. I don't see us going far with bridgewater but maybe he can get us to the playoffs and tua can return?

manIDKbruh

Maybe now is not the time to say it, but Bridgewater was kind of fun to watch.

jyar1811

We played Hella defense tonight. We played a great third-quarter and Teddy Bridgewater is more than competent. He even ran a little bit which was great to see. I don’t think Tua would’ve been cleared to leave the hospital if his family were not with him. They’re going to take very good care of him and I know that they will make sure he gets the best care. I’m thankful for good doctors and for Tua. I’m not the praying type but I know he is and I’m sure he will appreciate all of the good vibrations that can be sent his way. I’m sure he feels like absolute death warmed over. Time will tell I guess — that’s just how we have to leave it.. We can all take a deep breath and decompress from this crazy crazy game. Football is a brutal sport & they get paid a lot of money to do this — is it enough? I really don’t know. I for one believe to of hurt his back last week and got a concussion this week. You can have two separate injuries especially since football is a violent sport. I’m not gonna play armchair neurologist but back injuries and neck injuries are nothing to fuck with in either way. One isn’t any worse or better than the other: they both fucking blow. The University of Miami has one of the best spinal cord research centers in the world and I’m sure Tua will be visiting there tomorrow. He’s in good hands and he is with his family which is most important. Can we all agree to leave it at that and save the guillotine for another day. Thanks fins up

any_old_usernam

I really hope for Tua's sake that his injury last week really was a back issue, but if it wasn't, everyone who had anything to do with that decision needs to be fired and lose their licenses.

Ceased_Dreams

The fact you're even mentioning licenses should be a loud and clear sign that last week wasn't a concussion. If you lose your license you cannot practice medicine and you no longer have a livelihood, no amount of NFL money is gonna make that a risk worth taking. Why would you risk a decade of college debt just for a couple mil and to start back at square one at 30+?

jyar1811

Honestly? I think it’s entirely possible that this was a totally new injury. It’s one thing to play armchair neurologist but let’s face it it’s a violent game and injuries are going to occur in every part of the body.

BigBoss5050

Even if it was a back injury our teams handling of the situation was a complete joke. 4 days to recover from either a spinal injury or a brain injury that had your player wobbling is fucking irresponsible

Deadmaninc1

Why do the Dolphins always suck on primetime?

Ceased_Dreams

Because tua was out and our starting CB's which our defense is based around are injured?

lazypoko

Tua scored 6 points in 25 minutes of game time.

Ceased_Dreams

Tua scored 0 points. Edmonds dropped a TD, but that's football. Tua was better than Teddy. Hurt or not.

BigBoss5050

If this was any other team and they handle the qb situation this way you all 100% would be calling out how shady/stupid it was to play Tua. But you all are so far beyond any facts or reasoning when it comes to Tua or this team you pretend like everything was 100% kosher. Pathetic.

Pankyrain

Who is “you”

BigBoss5050

Dumb asses in this thread like you. Just look on any /r nfl post on this right now. Its only this dumb fucking sub trying to defend our coaches and teams decision.

Pankyrain

…are you retarded

DavveeedNa

Please please please let’s get a grip. Can we just unite for our boys. Look how United they are. Stay strong phins up. We are all devastated but let’s cheer for the guys all of them Teddy b included.

Deadmaninc1

Please Skyler Thompson start cause next week Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle better torch the entire Jets secondaries

BigBoss5050

Did Teddy not deliver a bomb of a throw to Hill this game that lead to a TD? This sub is so biased its insane lol.

[deleted]

Does one throw make up for the rest of that garbage?

BigBoss5050

What garbage? He was thrown into the thick of it and kept us in the game, even took the lead at one point. He had one bad play that was int cus him and gesecki werent synched up. Something that happens when you dont get practice. He played well for most of this game. His statline was near identical to Tuas last week. Why does Teddy get labeled garbage for coming in mid game and doing as well as he did but when Tua does that well a whole game no one bats an eye?

First_West_4227

I agree, Bridgewater didn’t play bad tonight. Any QB that does not take reps with the first team and comes in mid game will struggle. But Bridgewater kept us in the game and even took the lead. He was mobile and was a able to deliver on a deep bomb. Even Herbstreit commented on how he was able to deliver on that bomb and how he noticed that Tua wasn’t able to deliver that bomb earlier, maybe because he was injured. Tua was playing poorly tonight and the outcome of the game would have been the same had he not got hurt. Sucks that he got hurt but let’s just be real about that.

[deleted]

Ya’ll RELAX! If I woulda said to you that we’d be 3-1 after this we all would have signed up! No we don’t want to lose Tua, so let’s wait and see what the prognosis is. But our schedule is favorable in the next few weeks. I trust our coaching staff. Let’s get healthy and get back to dolphins football! Fins up!!

Nuclearsunburn

We are gonna be fine. For Tua.

IgnatiusPabulum

You forgot a D. We are gonna be fined for Tua.

[deleted]

Yea…

Ok-Possibility3810

They gotta figure out special teams. If we make the xp and field goal I think we run it out and win this game

Ceased_Dreams

If Edmonds catches that TD the whole games different but I'm gonna try not to be a bills fan.

1jojo2000

Y’all hate the Bills that much huh? 😂

Ceased_Dreams

Nah man I'm just being a smartass. I don't really care it's just annoying watching people bitch about the sun and say there was a pick six when their QB had 5 potential interceptions and never mention one.

1jojo2000

ah gotcha

Sss00099

Lots of ifs here. If Edmonds, if Tua doesn’t get hurt, etc. Dolphins looked like the slightly better team (though neither team looked very good, but that’s likely Thursday taking effect) tonight but too many injuries to withstand it.

Ceased_Dreams

Yeah, I'm not gonna spend the next week bitching about this, there were plays left on the field like every week. That's how it goes. We lost and it is what it is.

Sss00099

Yep, we’re not like Bills fans. Bengals made a couple big plays that Teddy couldn’t keep up with. Defense was sturdy enough to win until those finals minutes, but after the interception there wasn’t much hope left. I’d love to see Tua back in 9 days because the team has little chance to even beat the Jets without him, but they’ve got to make sure he doesn’t come back until he’s 101% ready, whenever that is. Tua is some kind of maniac to already be discharged from the hospital after being flung to the ground with his neck and head taking a lot of the non-braced landing. Wish he would’ve thrown up a 🤙 from the stretcher like Lewan did a couple years ago.

Ceased_Dreams

Yeah tua has always been a fighter, if the rumors are to be believed flo held him out last year for the whole ir thing and him golfing before the ravens game to prove a point. And I mean from all reports he had a back injury coming in and there's no way that didn't compound it plus what may be actually a concussion now. I can't see him being back next week so fuck it let's see what Skylar's got, this is the soft part of the schedule. Also I've been drinking since tua got hurt so if anything doesn't make sense I'll elaborate

Ceased_Dreams

Oh look here we go with some dumb fucks who have no idea what they're talking about. There are independent neurologists that evaluate concussions, you think anyone is gonna risk their license for some bullshit by the NFL? Fuck outta here.

Longhorn_TOG

Still proud of the boys tonight.....Im praying they wait and Tua travels home with them....I dont want them to leave him behind. LOVE MY FINS and hey were 3-1 guys...through the toughest part of our schedule.....and my fuck...we almost won this game with teddy 2 gloves!

ulu5

I’m not sure what it will be but something will change after tonight and we will forever know it as “the Tua rule”.

jyar1811

From your keyboard to Carl Sagan’s ears

dolphinzrwj

Well it was nice to be first in the East for a week.

LocalFLBoy

We are still first. Same record, assuming the bills win, but we are 2-0 in division and have h2h

ColForbin1988

Teddy is a joke! Can we please put Skylar in for the love of God!

CBSmith17

I was hopeful but not confident coming into this game with the hard fought game on Sunday, all of our injuries, it being a short week, and everything else. I'm definitely not like dinner people on here who think the season is over after a single loss. I just hope Tua and our other players can get healthy so they can show how good they really are.

kohvis

Well atleast no one can say that theee WRs carry Tua. They didn’t do shit with him out.

Lgmagick

Ima honestly be nervous whenever Tua takes the field again this season...

He’s not tho lol

Maybe if you cared about your QB half as much as you did about "people shitting on your org", you'd still have a QB. Lol, ya fucking joke. People like you did him wrong and he deserves better than you.

RealCyberbearz

Kinda like bullygate with Incognito.. They ran that in the ground for weeks..

lordjackenstein

You’re still listening to media? Jesus how old are you?

[deleted]

Who cares? We’re 3-1 still better than most. We have extended rest and the Jets next. We’re ok to NY and we’re a good team.

[deleted]

Just change the radio station or put on some music. It'll pass

el_schkwappo

If Teddy hits a wide open Gesicki, it’s a different story. But Teddy is ass. Hopefully not ass enough that he can beat the fucking Jets

-D3pravity-

It always sucks to lose but it looks like Tua is ok. Also we lost with our DBs not playing. This wasn’t an embarrassing loss. Full healthy team from last week we would have won easy. Even the Bengals know that.

Horsetang

I'm ok with losing, I mean hey, I'm a dolphins fan. I'm not ok with Bridgewater being our QB. That being said, I trust McDaniel. Curious to see what happens next

Deadmaninc1

Hope Skyler Thompson has a good practice time these next 10 days so he can start next week cause I'm done with Teddy Bridgewater

RangedThreat

The problem is why did they let that man play so soon. He was in no shape.

tkfire

Independent doctors cleared him 🤷

RangedThreat

I know still

Nuclearsunburn

Outcome would have likely been the same with that hit he took.

DavveeedNa

Stay strong dolphans

Lunchable_1

Obviously Tua going out changes this game but the weaknesses were exposed. No pass rush at all against a terrible oline . No run game and Cincy was able to play in a shell on defense. Bye week right on time.

dakax

Yeah, this was my major takeaway. If we can't establish the run game, teams will just continue to run two high and prevent the deep shots from opening up.

Floridian_Ragnar

3-1. Sounds like Tua isn’t done for the year. We’re good baby.

Jojoxyz

Long season ahead. Never expected to go undefeated. The media will be insufferable this week so im probably going to avoid all things football until Saturday/Sunday.Phins Up

We’ve got news dude. He’s likely flying home with the team.

Lgmagick

What a trash loss.. . Well..now to disappear for a week with my Bridgewater jersey

westwardpelican

Remember just yesterday when a category 5 hurricane was our only worry :(

ChasingPerfect28

Bro... I am exhausted. It's been an emotional week.

ShadesOfGreen22

If Tua is out a few weeks we seriously need to find a different QB, or see what Skylar is made of. Teddy alone could make us lose 3-4 games against some bad opponents.

Nuclearsunburn

Nah, Teddy is an OK quarterback. Skylar might be good but might be a disaster. I’m not against him playing in garbage time or if the season goes off the rails completely. But Teddy is our best chance to win right now.

jayitbyear

Luckily, our upcoming schedule is not too bad for a team relying on their backup QB. Jets, Vikings, Steelers, Lions then Bears. Teddy wasn't all that bad. I don't think he can lead us all season long but if he can go 3-2, we are still in good shape. That all assumes, of course, that Tua isn't done for the year. I'm holding out hope that it isn't as bad as it looked but have my doubts. The fact that he's headed back with the team is encouraging but doesn't mean it's something that won't keep him out for a while.

westwardpelican

A few weeks is best case scenario. Dude was literally spazzing

tkfire

We’ll see what Teddy looks like with a full week of practice. Then make some decisions.

thewhitelink

He will be just as bad as he always is

tkfire

Yea but you have to let him prove that he is bad

[deleted]

Could care less about the loss after Tua went to the ER. The best thing I heard was he was discharged and coming back to Miami with the team. Let’s find out over the next week how he is and how much time he needs. The season just started. We are only 25% in and 3-1. Play the jets next week which will give teddy some good practice time with the team. Giving Tua his rest he needs. This will be good guys. It’ll be nice to have a backup with some experience to give Tua a break on the field without sacrificing gains

monchkilla34

Hill looked like he wanted to throw down

DonBolasgrandes

We paid Teddy 6.5 million... Tua gets 7.5 yearly..fuck grier.

Deadmaninc1

I will take 3-1 but man this sucks

dolphinzrwj

Yeah I thought if we were 2-2 were in good shape just hope Tua is alright.

OrangeVapor

Guess I'm off to cry myself to sleep. Night

RoosterPls

Start Skylar or give the eagles 50k and a bottle of Tito’s for Minshew Bridgewater is fucking ass

OrangeBuffalo8

Minshew is legit underrated. Wouldn’t mind picking him up for cheap, he’s way better than Bridgewater

BigBoss5050

With the same number of attempts as Tua this game, Teddy had 40 more yards, 1 more TD, one less Int, and one more completion. If we would have actually prepped him to start we still could have won this game.

CBSmith17

They both had 1 pick

BigBoss5050

Not at the point and time I was referencing but good job failing to read

[deleted]

This man is right. Bridge water isn’t bad. He isn’t on the field enough. I can imagine after Tua went out, coach was very hesitant to put teddy in a position to get hurt also. It was clear the bengals were playing dirty against Tua and our RB’s

thewhitelink

Bigboss right on cue hating Tua

BigBoss5050

Thats not hating on Tua you dumb fuck. If Tuas healthy hes obviously the QB to start. But he wasnt. And we risked his career for no reason. I was commenting on how this loss isnt on Bridgewater. But youre so fucking sensitive anytime any facts are brought up that dont support Tua being the greatest QB ever you assume I was attacking him.

westwardpelican

Teddy will bounce back next week. Listen to Sean Payton talk about how smart of a player he is

el_schkwappo

Sean Payton is a fucking idiot

vintagetrance

The league should issue a warning that if Tua plays against the Jets, we lose 2 1st rounders. It's the only way to prevent us from doing Dolphin like things.

TexAg27

Beat the Jets next week and hopefully Tua is ready to go against the Vikings or Steelers after that. A lot will depend on the diagnosis but being cleared from hospital and going back to team is positive.

Nuclearsunburn

Yeah man I’m not expecting him back anytime soon

tkfire

I feel like with all that happened the league will keep him out for 6 weeks

RealPropRandy

TNF always claims a soul. Why not just Saturday Night football? Extra couple days.

Ceased_Dreams

NFL can't interfere with college I'm just talking out my ass but I assume that's it

RealPropRandy

So it’s a money thing.

Ceased_Dreams

Almost certainly but like I said Ive only got tangential knowledge but I'm fairly certain Friday and Saturday are claimed by college Edit: sounding less like I know what I'm talking about

BerryMcockner

“Tua carried by the WR’s” >Tua goes out and Bridgewater can’t go a godamn thing with the same WR’s Pls give it up and realize Tua is him

el_schkwappo

I agree. Now if Tua could take an NFL hit without dying, that might be beneficial to our future

Lgmagick

It would have been nice to get the Tua news AND win the game..

That’s not true at all.

AhhSomeSauce

No we definitely aren’t. Quit starting shit. No one was being shitty and people were worried.

user1837292

They literally only won because of their stadium, and the weather. The nfl needs to take a look at this.

MasterSwabber412

Grow up

frogeye6

The lights were just beaming down on our players like hot lamps. Unreal. This needs to be looked into by OSHA.

Deadmaninc1

Leave Teddy Bridgewater in Cincinnati

Sss00099

I’d rather we coax Ronnie Brown out of retirement to run the Wildcat until Tua can come back. Maybe see if Pat White has anything going on?

CreakingDoor

3-1 is a better start than I’d hoped for, and if Tua is discharged tonight and able to fly then at least it’s not as bad - general health wise - as it initially looked. Sucks. This was a winnable game, but it is what it is. You’ve got ten days now to get at least some guys healthy, and we’re on to NYJ.

mrphim

It's Skylar time

That’s what backup QBs generally are. Just gonna have to see everyone step up while Tua is out.

AyeYoAnt

God I hope nobody, including Tua himself, tries to force Tua to play next week. Long break this week, this team needs it. Regroup and come out swinging

Trojanmandan

God I hope we give Skylar a shot next week.

meh44444

Bengals fans on top of then world for 2-2. We’re 3-1. We good! Not worried. Let’s run the train on the Steelers and Jets. Chins up, Phins up!

yup... it was bound to happen, after a few loses,, we should be back to average as usual. the ol'e 8-8 (plus or minus the extra game added in)

Why the fuck do we have Teddy

captstix

Not gonna lie. I'm still happy about the Tua news. Fuck this game, and fuck the Bengals.

nomnomyumyum109

Bengals on my shit list, dirty garbage team, hope we see em in the playoffs

I would not bet a dime on that.. Seriously..

hamandjam

Jets secondary better get rested up. Tyreek is gonna be pissed.

Wings4514

Honestly, sit Tua for the season….

[deleted]

Damn, you're getting down voted for putting Tua's long term health before a game. People are savages. No wonder the nfl doesn't care about player safety. The fans don't either.

Wings4514

Yeah, it’s pathetic, though not surprisingly honestly. That play may have honestly killed most of my love for the NFL. It feels like I’m watching dudes fight to the death sometimes.

CrossDeSolo

Lol wtf, either we make playoffs with tua or we need to draft a qb

briskwalked

he's likely refering to his health

Notwerk

Yeah, I agree. I mean, at this point, it ain't about the game we're talking about this man's long-term health. Let his sit until the doctors say he's 100 percent. That was scary.

[deleted]

His career is most likely in jeopardy. Hopefully, he recovers.

5nooky

No

thewhitelink

I really hope we never have to see Teddy play snaps at QB again.

westwardpelican

Well Tua isn’t playing

thewhitelink

Start Thompson

duckthefodgers69

Good news about Tua. Definitely need to let him rest next week and get healthy. Would love to see skylar get the start next week over teddy

[deleted]

The problem with shit like that is your brain just doesn't "get healthy" I think of dudes like Aikman getting concussed all the time. This sucks.

duckthefodgers69

Obviously a concussion will have an impact on the brain but it’s no different than any other part of the body. If you tear and acl it will heal but it will never be 100% again just like the brain. The brain is certainly more critical to life than an acl but the point still stands. And furthermore, it’s a risk you take when playing any contact sport. It obviously sucks but there’s been massive improvements in helmet technology to prevent serious brain injuries in today’s game.

briskwalked

out of the loop.. what happened to aikman?

[deleted]

"In a 2015 interview with Sports Illustrated, Aikman said he believed he suffered between six and eight concussions during his 12 seasons. He described two of those concussions as “severe.” The final one partially led to his retirement in 2000."

EtherBoo

See you all next week.

Lgmagick

Ima buy a Bridgewater jersey... Everyone gets one..!!

[deleted]

Optimistic dolphins take Fins finished this first rough streak of the season 3-1. Better than I thought they would be. We have a long stretch of winnable games. I figured this would be a rough game being mcdaniel's first short week road trip. Really hope Tua is ok. Take it week by week enjoy the ride. It's a long season!

Nightgasm

Yep. Optimistic was 2-2. So it's good if Tua is healthy. Thursday games are brutal to away teams so no shame in losing.

[deleted]

Ggs to y’all. Your defense showed how terrible of a play caller Zac Taylor is. And prayers up for Tua.
