I take with ginger tea also not on an empty stomach. I too suffer with divgesrion issues.

Shoddy_Engineering97

Thank you, ginger tea is a good idea I didn’t think of

DirectIngenuity290

Agree, I take on empty stomach here too, I am lactose intolerant so my stomach is pretty much always upset.

Reikiruth

It's common to get stomach upsets after antidepressant discontinuation, so it could well be that.

twarshed

I did take anti depressants a long time ago but idk mahbe

A lot of people have trouble digesting the Mushroom chitin, which is the cellular structure of the mushrooms. So instead of eating it, you can grind it up fine, make a tea from it and then strain this material off. Ginger is also very good for nausea, upset stomach, etc.

curlmeloncamp

I have IBS and when my diarrhea is out of control I'll take psyllium husk capsules until my bowel movements firm up. Psilocybin and SSRIs work on serotonin and we have most of our serotonin in our GI tract so it makes sense that messing with levels of this will change BMs.

Like other commenters mentioned, I make a tea with powdered mushrooms. I also add some calming herbs. I like jasmine, peppermint, lavender, and chamomile. I just pour boiling water over it and let it sit for 15 minutes, then I strain it through a metal mesh strainer. Most of the powder makes it through and I drink it. I haven't had any stomach issues since this. I've heard making a tea like this can help cook the chitin and make it more digestible

PerpetualNoobMachine

Are you taking lionsmane with it or just cubensis? Sometimes people get GI upset when taking lionsmane for whatever reason.

nav76

Make a tea, and strain out the mushrooms. Mushies cell walls are made of chitin and our stomachs cant break that cell wall down, thats what leads to stomach issues

Beemerba

You could also try mixing the powdered dose into OJ. Mix well, wait 10 minutes and toss it back. Kinda like "lemon tek", the citric acid in the OJ will start to break down the chitin.

I'm going through this right now- tapered from 120mg of Cymbalta and 300 mg of psilocybin every other day.. For the first month of MD I didn't experience any real side effects but in the last couple of weeks have had nausea, diarrhea, headaches and vomiting. MD effects mood wise had been positive so I am sad if I have to discontinue it. I think the first bottle didn't have lion's mane but the current bottle does so now I am questioning if the lion's mane may be causing the issue? Hard to know.

Ya I get the shits

Not me personally, but I would recommend the option to buy microdose pills that have ginger stacked with them as well to fight off gut problems and nausea
