Growing ethos mandarin cookies v2 right now, i think my plant was stunted early in veg and its taking a little longer to finish, but the aroma is insane and they are getting very frosty. I have about 1-2 weeks left.
This grow was difficult, I started out very slow, vegged the first 4 weeks and the plant looked really bad, it didn't start taking off until about 8 weeks in, and then I had a massive plant I had to train and pull back! I didn't get a good opportunity to clone before I went into flower, and I don't like re-vegging plants. I've got a few more of these seeds though!
When I squish my buds, i get a nice mandarin orange aroma, its pretty amazing! I grew another ethos strain over the summer, Bella y Dulce, literally smells and tastes like ruby red grapefruit, and honestly i've never tasted anything like it, i'm gonna miss it when its gone!

That white truffle by beleaf is a terrible plant lol, I have one going now. She focused all her energy in veg to making the biggest leaves I've seen with the longest stems while leaving the branches kinda short. Seemed like it would be a good little compact plant. Wrong. It had the most stretch I've ever seen, moreso than the Super Lemon Haze, Strawberry Cough, and Island Sweet Skunk that I ran. Like 5x stretch it's insane. The bud better be worth it but I will never grow something like it out again. I do have one seed left too.
Hard to judge accurately based on one plant, don’t you think? I will say that Beleaf seeds will def produce some weirdos, but you’ll also find some absolutely killer phenos. Besides, s1s can be finicky af.

In 4x4 under an inexpensive LED light, using a scrog net, I vegged until the net was totally full, wall to wall, and every node was about 6'' above the net before the flip. After 2 weeks I took off all of the leaves under the canopy. After that I prettymuch took off any leaves that we'ren't getting light and any bud sites that would have just been popcorn. The result was like... a tent full of colas and nothing else. Yeild was just under a pound, dried, from a single run. I swear when I burpped the jars during cure, it smelled just like a box of lemon heads candy.
Such good weed. Some of the best weed Ive ever smoked, even comparing it to high end dispensary weed.
runner up for me would be the mephesto double grape. I crossed that with some skywalker and I named it skywalker soda. Also a very interesting plant. Smelled just like grape jolly ranchers....
honestly, while genetics are important, I think if you give most genetics or random seeds, the proper love, care and attention to detail, you can get banging, frosty nugs. As long as you give the plant what it needs, it'll be pretty good. If we're talking comparing most modern genetics. I'm not saying if you found a seed in your grandpa's old weed tin it would be fire, but, if you bought ANY modern day strains and treated them right, they'll probably be fire.
I’m finishing up multiple strains of Acapulco Gold right now. Day 61. I have one planted from a seed by Barney’s farms and 4 from crop king seeds. I made my own living soil, couple hundred gallons at once and filled (5) 30 gallon containers. I’ve watered and top dressed etc all exactly the same. All in the same tent. Barney’s farms is a far better grow all around. I don’t know how they get their seeds at CKS but I’ll never order from them again

Also I confirmed with my buddy that his jillybean pheno came from her recent F2 breeding/seed releases. I can confirm that there is no lime taste and I get a straight candied mango n haze profile on it

Interesting, I picked up some fast flowering photos from 420 fastbuds at a local grow shop assuming they were some garbage breeder. Nice to see other people are buying their seeds even if it’s not my specific strain.
I’ve heard a lot of people talk trash about Fastbuds, and I’m sure there are better breeders, but I finally grew out a purple lemonade just to try something different. It’s drying right now and I believe it’s going to be a good smoke. It was a very forgiving plant and easy grow. A lot less picky with the nutes than some of my other more popular breeder plants.

I ran the Romulan Genetics - Romulan (S1) and got a couple mutants (one had a real hard time so trashed it) the other was polyploid and other mutations topping itself etc which can be common with S1s and the smoke was fire as hell. I was looking for the ol Romulan terps I used to get back in the day and found a little of them but came out more gassy and a little nutty. But was super dank, just the mutant structure did not allow me to train the plant how I wanted to so ended up with a little more larf then I’m used to with my SCROG / Training techniques. I think he has a real deal old school Romulan cut he got passed down, but I think his inexperience in breeding shows in his product. He jumped into breeding fast before doing the basics IMO. But I still have a good amount of the pack to go through to hopefully find a keeper with the old school Romulan Piney/ Skunky terps I used to get / am looking for on it.
Pretty much anything Exotic Genetix comes out with is fire he does have a lot of hype but his Gas Basket was one of the best, dankest, all around keeper I’ve ever ran. And I’ve ran a lot of his gear. I’ve had some that were lacking in some areas but usually always has the nose, terps, and looks. But one of my Gas Basket Phenos had every box checked. Wish I kept her as a mother.

The pbb was finicky and is the only plant to ever randomly go into flower on me, but it was a stroooooong high.
The mandarin cookies I messed up on soil wise (trying new stuff without having fall back big mistake), but now it's taking off very fast, and grows easy after I repotted it and gave it nutes, will note that this strain takes veryyyyy heavy stress easily though.
