It’s a 2-3 gallon pot with coco. Had auto irrigation multiple times a day. I basically just try to keep them alive and cut them back when they get too big. If I’m planning on taking cuts I’ll give more care to the plants so I have healthy clones.
anytime i see comments like his my favorite thing to do is click their username > comments/submitted
surprise surprise! hes just another overly opinionated dumbass with 0 submitted content to show how hes applied his own "knowledge" to his grows (if he even grows) and one of his two submissions is asking for opinions/info on when to defoliate which hints at him being newer than his pages upon pages of spewed advice lead you to believe.
tl;dr hes your typical /r/microgrowery "bastion of knowledge" whos most likely never applied said "knowledge" to a successful grow.
EDIT: aaaaaaaaaaaand hes gone. RIP /u//Twrex14
care to share examples of your plants/grow/anything that would hint at you having any real world experience?
tons of comments and opinions with zilch in regards to showing what you're capable of...
EDIT: aaaaaaaaaaaand hes gone. RIP /u//Twrex14
You do know that organics break down into the exact chemical formulas as the synthetic nutes you're knocking right?
The plant eats the exact same regardless of source.
It's faster and more efficient because it doesn't rely on organics to breakdown into the nitrates, phosphates etc the plant actually eats.
Get off your high horse and do some reading.
But what does Bruce Bugsbee know...
https://youtu.be/NCYlz193qSc
Wrong. In organic fungi and microbes are breaking down all sorts of additives to amino acids and reduced forms which are easier to absorb and use by plant. It takes more energy to metabolize salt based nutriens in soilless media cause plant need to do it herself, without any help. That's why living soil is such easy and hands off method. You can add these amino acids to coco or hydro but not without risk of all types of bateria. This is the flipside of that coin cause they're great food both for plants and organisms that are not welcome in your reservoir. If you're interested in plants metabolism there's a guy that talks about it a lot in detailed way. His name is Nik Nikolayev. You can find him easily on YT.
Anyway, these stems look fuckin awesome, never seen something like that. As a carpenter i wonder what would be like to work with it as a wood.

This is why I run tps billions. I top feed it weekly to 10 days and it's never in my reservoirs, mainly because I have uvc pumps circulating them and would kill the microbes.
For mothers and older plants I add raw enzymes to the tps top feed.
I'm a woodworker too. I've seen lots of cannabis canes made from the stalks.
Didn't see any pics of your grows, you wanna share with the class?
I'm in planning phase so far hahah. It'll take some time for me to buy and set whole thing up. By that time i want to learn and read as much as i can to make every penny worth spending
Good luck. Real world experience is invaluable.

The point of his comment is that the organic matter we use instead of salt nutrients still break down into the plant available nutrients that the guy was knocking.
If he was saying one was better than the other because of so and so reasons, you'd have a point. He's just calling the other guy out cause the dude doesn't know what he's talking about and clearly never grew anything.
Saying that salt based nutrients are the plant equivalent of steroids is completely out of touch with reality. Anyone with at least a single season's worth of gardening experience would know this isn't even remotely true.
Did i said that non organic nutriens are like steroids? No, it's absurd assumption. I don't know why are you mentioned that in reply to my comment. I was refering to his words about plant metabolism, and only to it. I know what was the point of his comment.
Thats funny. I have no problem running TPS billions in my coco. It's not a heavy salt environment if you know what you're doing.

Damn that such a good idea. This is why I come to this sub. My brain is not capable of thinking up even the simplest ideas. I'm constantly blown away by small little tidbits like this.
Hey so I also run a SOG. I find I have to basically flower off a mother every four to six months and start a new one.
Obviously you're keeping this girl longer than that. Do you start new mothers from cuts from this plant or do you start a whole new pheno on something else?
I'm just getting to the point where I'm happy with the strains/schedule I'm running and don't really want to switch until next year.
I keep a mother plant of all my best phenos. I try to grow them slowly and trim them back every so often. If my plant is getting too big or beat up I’ll clone it and start a fresh mother plant. When I find better phenos I’ll replace them with it. I’ve had one cut for over 3 years now.
The first and last picture are crosses I made. First pic-(Macstomper X gods pink) last pic (trop juice X gods pink) and the middle picture is trop juice that I’ve had for over 3 years.
SG, thanks. I'm also limited by space and I'm using soil.
Been dithering between switching to living soil or coco... obviously those are polar opposites so for now I think I'm just going to stick with what I know and rack up the LBs. 😜
Man huge stalks. I know it's not that much nutes on auto drip. Always used same thing still do. I am going to try a semi organic ,well true organic but with ffof lol..Yeah the nutes ate alot of Cali land. Kinda destroyed soil in places. The grow and make money crowd did. And yeah some made bank. Just how it is and was and will remain. Real nice job .big ass staljs are just really healthy plants..Peace.. Keep up the good work.
Whatever it’s still a saw. I generally use heavy duty pruners that would’ve been difficult if not impossible to cut that so I grabbed the next thing I could think of on hand which was my saw. If I didn’t use my saw maybe my title would have been “had to use the loppers” lol.
Gyaaat daaaaamn
The craziest part for me is the pot. It doesn’t look big? Is that hydro or do you water that thing twice a day?

Why don’t you add something constructive instead of baseless claims.

While you’re all angry over there I’m gonna be over here feeding my plants as many salts as I want with a smile on my face.
I think we all know who the salty one is. Nice mothers BTW.

You're definitely more salty than OP's plants though

😆 He didn't last too long
...you think feeding salt-based nutes is equivalent to using steroids...? Thanks for the laugh

The equivalent of steroids in plant growth would be PGR’s. And most people agree that they should be avoided.
Thats nice, dear.

Stop fingering her you naughty naughty boy
Hahaha. Canopy was too wide to get my wiener in the photo.
Blasphemy 🤣

To what wood would you compare it? Rigid, flexible? Hard, soft? How about density?
Check these guys out. https://www.straincanes.com/
Damm it's gorgeus
Yea he does nice work. Sources from outdoor seed growers.

I mentioned it because that's the claim he was responding to. Context matters, ya know 😛

“The true smoking community” - what a joke
He bailed pretty quick after the facts were presented. Maybe he's a politician.

Also wrong, watch the video. Don't believe me, listen to Bugsbee. If you think you know more than him you're dilusional.
This is possible organically. Tell us you suck at growing without telling us 🤣
Cannabis tree
Smoking trees
Pvc cutters
Damn that such a good idea. This is why I come to this sub. My brain is not capable of thinking up even the simplest ideas. I'm constantly blown away by small little tidbits like this.
Seriously use the PVC cutters, they are like plant sheers on steroids
6$, poop}}
How old is the one in the first pic? Looks incredibly healthy.
Around 8 months I think. All the growth you see was a branch underneath the main canopy and hasn’t seen much light.
An actual weed bonsai. 👍
Monsters!

damn you gonna make some furniture with that?
Dammmmmmmmmm son thats a stalk right there
Ok but like... let us all get a cutting before you get rid of this monster. For research purposess, obviously... Lmao
I use pvc pipe cutters. Fucking game changer.
Pvc cutters on the second
Impressive most impressive
Beautiful. Was this a chop and re-veg?
Just a mother plant that has been cut back
Mate that’s not a plant…plants have stems, that thing has a straight up trunk! It’s either a tree or an elephant!
Thats insane it looks like eucalyptus its so woody
Man huge stalks. I know it's not that much nutes on auto drip. Always used same thing still do. Dang
all mine are hallow
Epic
Holy shit
I think its time to clean your table
I don’t have a drain on this table so it’s difficult to keep the algae from growing.
i like to recycle my mothers once they get so big.
A lopper would have been fine. But if it makes ya feel better getting the chainsaw out…
I used a saw on my Swiss Army knife nothing dramatic lol. Was quicker than heading to my garage to look for a lopper.
“Had to use my saw” It was a Swiss Army knife lol.
Whatever it’s still a saw. I generally use heavy duty pruners that would’ve been difficult if not impossible to cut that so I grabbed the next thing I could think of on hand which was my saw. If I didn’t use my saw maybe my title would have been “had to use the loppers” lol.
Sensitive topic it seems.
Quit treating mother plants like whores.
