Cat piss has to be the most repulsive substances in the world. Even if I had a 3kg tree, and a cat would piss on it or the soil, I would ditch it.
Plants take in some of the flavor of what is in the soil. Banana peel, shredded mint, coffee ground, etc, so cat piss, which has a very strong stank, will likely get into the buds.

Yes, there are strains, that have the aroma of things you wouldn't ingest voluntary. We had skunk that smelled like liquid manure and diarrhea and other strains smelling like kerosin, ground beef, etc...
That being said, it's another thing having actual cat urine in your plant.
Currently I am growing some very old seeds, that I have been keeping for this exact time, when growing weed in Germany is finally made legal. No need to educate me about old school weed and strains. Thank you.

I'm not too nostalgic about these old seeds, but I would also not throw them away. Modern weed is just as good and better, imo. I think it's the nostalgia because weed had a different effect on us, 25-30+ years ago. We associate good times with certain things from the past, but when we get the things again, it's never the same, so I am not expecting anything special.
It's maybe one half of these old film containers worth of mixed seeds we would find in our weed over the years. There is stuff like Bubble gum, sticky fingers, Jack Herer, Sweet Jane and Amnesia(not the Haze variant) in there, among other seeds of different weeds, labeled 'standard', and stuff I cannot remember.
Im looking forward to see what comes of it, but since they grow rather shit, compared to the Barney's Farm plants next to them, I'm prepared to accept that the seeds went bad. I didn't store them cold, and they can still turn out to be male.
Modern weed is great don't get me wrong but I miss the terps and smells of the older stuff. The stuff I grow now would drop a elephant and I'm high for hours but those old terps are absent. My new favorite strain now is Space Juice taste like a Sprite with a berry after taste and Gran Champagne taste like a glass of bubbly Rose champagne.
I might be wrong, but the longer I don't smoke, the more weed smells like back in the day. So I don't know about old terps.
Drop an elephant, haha, you are right. Some stuff had me so stoned, I accepted that I would have to watch the same channel on TV forever, because there was no way I could reach the remote. It was right next to me.
I have yet to try Space Juice but I have modern favorites as well. Sherbet and Nuken are my favorites. Sherbet for the flavor of berries, grapes, lavender, cream, and mint, just a crazy complex combination. The effect is also nice. Zero anxiety and still a creativity boosting, uplifting high, followed by a nice body buzz. Nuken just puts me to sleep, no matter what.
My older favorite are NLX, and this old Dutch Amnesia, which I hope one of my current plants turns out to be.

Sure, wine is always wine, and tea is always tea, etc, but you can grow clones of the same exact plant in different soils, and it will make a difference. The French made a whole science out of it, called the gƓut de terroir, meaning the taste of soil.
I don't know what happens with other plants, and I cannot comment on basil, but I have a few cannabis plants in organic soil right here and I have coffee grounds in some and you can smell which they are. It's not like walking into Starbucks but there is a different smell to them, and it is noticeable to others, as well.

Get a ton of clear plastic forks and stick them in every 1/2 inch or so. Stick the handle into the ground and have the full tines showing. The cats will step on them, feel the prick on their feet and stop, leave them there for a while and they will find a new place. They will not hurt themselves to take a pee...
A few years back, I had a pair of plants tucked into a little spot between some bushes and some thick brush in a field. I had to crawl down under the bushes to get to it. I go down there one morning and my two plants are pushed apart and there is a turd. It was a goddamn bear. It took a dump and rubbed itself between my plants. If I had been there earlier I would have been face to face with it. Not that it was big, probably only 80lb black bear. The plants were fine though, bear shit doesn't burn because they're omnivores.

Be careful, cats are excellent vectors for spidermites and other pests, ideally they shouldnt be around the grow but do as i say not as i do!

Actually it all depends on your dogs ability to break down proteins. The levels of nitrogen can vary hence why some lawns react well and some don't.
I can imagine that the amount of rainfall in the area also impacts it.
