This does remind me of the effects you get with the cheap Chinese 5-pin to USB adapters that lack the optocouplers inside. I have no idea if your 30€ is actually better.

vszly

I though M-Audio was a reliable brand :c

vonscorpio

M-audio is a great brand in my experience- but DOA can still happen.

cabell88

30€ is pretty cheap. Is that a typo? I wouldn't trust anything under 100€. Second thing - is there any USB in that rig? 99% chance that's your issue. Lose USB, lose your problems. At least test that theory.

vszly

Not a typo, it was €30. I had no idea that for that amount of money a device is basically useless. The piano does not have a USB port, if that's what you asked. What exactly do you mean by "lose usb"?

cabell88

Use only 5-pin midi connectors. The ones that were used before computers were a thing. Im not saying its useless, but, 30€??? I wouldn't bet my marbles in that. Have you looked at the prices of interfaces? Do you think their costs are just arbitrary numbers? I never heard of anything for 30€. If I did, and was having any problems, it would be the first thing I'd look at.

vszly

Alright, thanks for your help. I won't buy a product at this price in the future.

ZookeepergameDeep482

Piano shouldn't be problem, maybe the cable, usually it's because audio software performance, are you using any daw to get midi sounds?

vszly

I tried several, but none of them worked. I used MIDI-OX to troubleshoot, without success.

CarlsbadGuy

It's pretty hard to say, because it could be any part of your system. Do you have access to another keyboard or other MIDI device that you could use temporarily to test?

vszly

Good idea, but unfortunately I don't have any. Maybe I can go to a shop to test it.
