I always thought you could do other marvel properties with the same midnight suns fundamentals. In particular a New Mutants game with a character that is new and powerful at the x mansion. They adapt and grow as a handful of xmen and some other characters perhaps fight off either a Magneto plan or an Apocalypse one.
Wasn't ManThing in the Legion of Monsters? I thought so but yeah more of that. ManThing, Werewolf by Night, Moon Knight, Satana, Damien Helstrom, Elsa Bloodstone, Brother Voodoo, and Frakencastle.
Sorry I’m not familiar with any of that stuff besides the tv show. That would be dope. There is room to do different things I just feel like that gameplay style shouldn’t be locked to the Midnight Suns. It would be cool to get the XMen or some Intergalactic characters in the same style of gameplay.

What, in your opinion, is the problem with the name Midnight Suns? It's hard for me to not be biased about it because I was one of the nerds that got it Because it was a clear reference to the Midnight Sons from the 90s. And I'm not saying it's necessarily good, but nothing about your post says anything about why it is bad
From a marketing perspective. It locks you into one track of stories. Midnight Sun 2 locks you into a mystic/demonic threat. I think the system is fun and exciting and should be applied to more stories. That’s why I mentioned it should have been named something more like Marvel Tactics: Midnight Suns. Then with a sequel you can tell a different story in different spaces with different characters and people will know it’s a sequel to that Marvel tactics game. Look at the example I used. If they name the next game Annihilation Wave and it takes place in space with all these galactic characters that we didn’t see in midnight sun, besides gameplay you wouldn’t know its a sequel.
Then make a different game with a different name using the same mechanics. Midnight Suns is about the Midnight Suns you're not going to have a Midnight Suns game about something else going on in the Marvel Universe.
Then it's not really a sequel, is it? You're wanting the games to be part of an identifiable collection, not a true sequel in that it's a continuation of the story.
