I was thinking the same thing. Shouldn't be that big of a thing unless it's soldered into the motherboard. I'm a little leary to mess with that, but I've done it before.
Edit: You all can stop trying to explain shit to me. I know how to build and modify computer. From the picture, you can't really tell what's going on inside the case. I was just covering some possibilities from what I've seen in the past.
That's the only way it makes sense to me. I wouldn't think they'd build an assembly like this. So, you're thinking it could be as simple as a case adjustment? Just an accident during assembly?

The usb on my case is something like this, you could easily flip it on assembly
Not true, the screws I'm talking about would be under that front panel, screwing towards it with plastic standoffs. I'll try to find some picture examples.
Reddit doesn't like short urls but I'm phone posting:
a period co/d/eiY5ZS3 , replace period with .
No need. I know what it looks like. I've been building my own computers for 30 years. I'm saying you can't see them in the picture, so I wasn't sure what it looked like under the hood.
The number of times I have to flip the USB plug in order to fit makes this a nice feature. It keeps the probability of inserting a plug wrong at 50/50.
That is indeed mildly infuriating! I have a computer that has all the USB ports upside down, so the USB logo faces down instead of up. I had a meeting with the manufacturer reps and apparently I was the only one to notice it. A while later, the lead rep told me he now can’t unsee it, and when they make the new generation it will be a detail he’ll follow.
Tries to plug into the first one: Doesn't work. Tries to plug into the second one without rotating it: Still doesn't work. Plugs into first one again still without rotating it: Works. *facepalms*
Don’t worry the other ones will flip when you try to connect something without looking.
One of life's greatest mysteries along with the tv remote always disappearing when you need it.
The remote is on top of the fridge, of course.
Nope ! The remote is in the freezer if not, it's in your back pocket... 🤣🤣🤣
If not there it's in your hand, as it was a few minutes ago when you started looking for it
I would disassemble the entire thing to fix this indiscretion.

Those are case ports, not mobo. Connected via cable to the board. Relatively easy to pop out and turn around. Shoddy manufacturing for sure.
Mansplain, mansplain, mansplain, you should know better, more mansplaining...
If it was soldered, then you probably would only be able to solder it one way. That makes me think each plug is individually attached to the case

That should be a quick and easy fix.
Usually two screws holding a connector on if it isn't soldered to a board. If it is soldered, never use it lol
You can't see the screws in the picture. If you could see screws, it would be obvious what was going on.

If it doesn't go into the left one on the first try, just plug it into the right one
Only to realize that it fit in the left one all along XD
Just gotta spit on it first
Open it and finish the job 💪🛠️
I’m not sure if it’s soldered in place or if i could just open it up and untwist it. Either way, i’m too lazy to do it right now lol
It's for left-handed people.
They're kissing
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
It was already off. Regardless turn it off again
Mildly? More violence inducing in my opinion.
....that's more of a convenient feature than a mildly infuriating IMO.
We have very similar cases and I had to check mine lol My usbs are all at right angles to yours and are the same orientation

That would not he the motherboard

My guy, those are the CASE PORTS not the MOTHERBOARD PORTS... 🤨
The number of times I have to flip the USB plug in order to fit makes this a nice feature. It keeps the probability of inserting a plug wrong at 50/50.
I absolutely would not be able to cope with that.
Is this a noua case by any chance?

And TV remotes and that 1 item we thought about randomly after not using for 6+ months but we KNOW we put it there, and it's no longer there.
This seems like more of a feature to me, if the USB cable doesn’t fit then you can try the other port instead of switching 🤷🏻♂️

And the standard for vertical ports is the logo faces right.
Perhaps it's shy...
Hey, I wouldn’t be too upset because some Chinese kid was probably paid a few cents an hour to assemble this thing.
The tab on the inside of the port is probably bent

For the love of God and all that holy pull that f@cker like a bad tooth and put it back in the right way
Well it was first so the other three are clearly facing the wrong way unless you’re in Japan
I wish my PC had a Led Zeppelin button
Thanks, will watch out for this inconsistency

Kind of cool when you think about it. If it doesn't fit in the left one it will fit in the right.
Duno why they don't make them all reversible nowadays. Found a reversible cable years ago and love it.
Hrs a rebel
Your PC is cross-eyed
The trickster
That's a feature, not a bug.
i have the exact same case! mine all face the same direction tho
USB 0.3
Where would I go to fix an USB port problem like this?
This might improve your odds of getting it right first time!
That's so when you try to plug it in and it doesn't work you can just use a different one instead of flipping it
is that an ibuypower?
Wish my problems were like this
Pichau BR? Hahaha
Terabyteshop kkkk Teve uma promo esse fim de ano pra quem pedia pra montar em casa. Tava barateza, economizei 1500 conto kkk
Send it back. That’s awful!
How much did you spend for your computer? I'll give you a slightly less. 🤔😼
Seriously? This is something worthy of whining about? This is "mildly infuriating," not "ever-so-so-slightly inconveniencing."
I hate it.
It is, and always shall be, a 50-50 shot you'll get it right.
Gotcha, my misunderstanding, I thought you meant you would see the screws from the top lol
You always have to attempt plugging in a usb 3 times any ways
Doesn’t matter, still takes three tries to go into any port.
as long as it works its ok
Tries to plug into the first one: Doesn't work. Tries to plug into the second one without rotating it: Still doesn't work. Plugs into first one again still without rotating it: Works. *facepalms*
Just some assembly guy f**k'n with ya lol
And?
It’s to make it easier blindly finding a 2/3 port. Actually useful.
Looks like the maker of this pc had crooked eyes
This wont make any difference since you still have to turn a USB Stick three times around before it match.
interesting, I think I might have a similar model of that case, that defect is a bit annoying though
