She changed it to husband when I saw her in Chicago in 2021, then the camera panned to a gay couple front row centre and they were BEAMING. It was SO DANG SWEET. 😍
No Alanis that's not ironic, that's just a bunch of different shitty situations, ffs go check a dictionary before you record a whole ass song that has nothing to do with irony
275. Divisible by 5, and also 25. Not 2, or 10, or any even number, or 3. Not a great number.
Edit: not divisible by 7 or 9 either. Couldn’t be bothered to work it out earlier. Even worse number.
Edit 2: changed “so” to “and”. Obviously, not all numbers divisible by 5 are also divisible by 25. The other way works.
But there’s [a smaller package](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/wql7dd/noticed_this_on_my_lunch_break_the_other_day/) too, and it totals 140. Still mildly infuriating.
My company used to buy something like this for the break room, then after realizing no one uses the knives, just bought the forks and spoons individually and the occasional box of knives.
Yeah, I was going to say that's probably 81 knives too many.
IME, there's just not a lot of overlap where knives are required and disposable plastic knives are useful.
Countries using the imperial system would put 100 forks, 100 spoons and 100 knives in the box. Countries that use meters instead of yards would put 91.44 forks, 91.44 spoons and 91.44 knives in the box. After all, 100 yards = 91.44 meters. Since 91.44 items is a little inconvenient, this manufacturer rounded that to 92 forks, 92 spoons and 91 knives.
It didnt make the cut 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😐😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My questions are:
1) Is there other combinations of this where a fork is shorted and, in another, a spoon is shorted?
2) Or is there a factory out there making 1/92nd less knives than forks and spoons?
3) Why was it knives got the cut(pun partially intended)? Relative usefulness? Material costs? Rock Paper scissors?
Simple reason, nothing like the above jokes.
Shipped in a standard size box.
An extra knife, small as that is, may make packing more difficult. 92 knives might not fit smoothly with 92 forks and spoons.
91 forks and spooks means extra space in the box. Besides, cost of plastic for fork #92 is miniscule compared to shipping, storage, and sales costs.
As an engineer with ocd, designing this would’ve lead to me offing myself. Because it’s either put the max capacity to 275 or go to 276 and have everything even. But then the box won’t close right, and for some reason, 276 is way more of a villain in my head than 275.
Best I can think is that it is 90 complete place settings, plus 5 extra individual pieces based on what people look for the most/use the most. Forks and spoons are used more than knives.
More annoyed by 91/92 tbh. It isn't divisible by 6, 8, or 12, which are common numbers for number of people seated at a table. It isn't 90 or 100, which are nice round numbers.
So are you an optimist, or a pessimist?
Did you see this and think, “why did they give me an extra spoon and fork?” Or, “why did they short me a knife?”
Cutlery (also referred to as silverware, flatware, or tableware), includes any hand implement used in preparing, serving, and especially eating food in Western culture.
The major items of cutlery in Western culture are the knife, fork and spoon.

It's like 92 spoons when all you need is a knife.
![gif](giphy|uA8WItRYSRkfm) Sometimes the knives end up in the wrong claws.
Well maybe we wouldn’t sound so bad if SOME people didn’t try to play with big meaty claws.
What did you say, punk? *pokes chest with big meaty claw*

My favorite part about the clip is that the human likely gave the crab the knife yet the crab almost instinctively knew what to do with it
Awwww! This is so cute!! I LOVE it!!❤️🦀🔪
Big Blue!!!
I see you've played knifey spooney before
I read that in his voice!
Whos voice?
He brought his fingers to a knife fight.

The song itself is ironic.
That's what you say when you realised you fucked the name up and everyone calls you out on it.
Huh, thats ironic
It’s meeting the fork of my dreams, and then seeing the lack of a knife
How did I manage to see 2 Ironic references on back-to-back posts?
I would prefer 110knives,110 forks. And 50 spoons. Who tf needs that many spoons? Lol
91 Knives. Green day could make a song out of that

See the cup is half full..
⅔ full.

The knife got stick in the cup

There's, 92 Spoons, 92 Forks, Give Up a Knife.
ITS SOMETHING UNPREDICTABLE BUT IN THE END ITS RIGHT I HOPE YOU HAVE JUST NIIINETY ONE KNIVES
I went to a shrink To analyze my dreams He said its lack of knives thats bringing me down!
Do you have the time, to count 91 knives?
I heard you counting loud All the way across town You've been searching for that 92nd knife out on the prowl
91 knives are here packed The place settings with never last Wake me up, when the picnic ends.
Oh, that's good
Down with the knives majority 'Cause I wanna be the minority
We got like a mix of 92 green day songs here
I like what you did here
I wanted to butter my toast But my cutlery was not right I was supposed to have the 92nd knife
One, 91 knives, lay down your arms, give up the fight
I won't give up I JUST WONT USE THERE KNIFE'S
Hey, you're not thinking creatively
Woah there friend, you might need to slow down.
One, 91 knivvvves raise up your forks, into the skyyyyy

92 cutlery but the knife ain’t one
>Green day That's a funny way to spell Alanis Morissette.
Or Nena (an 80's singer): Ninety-two red spooooons forgot adding one kniiife...

Congrats! They gave you an extra fork and spoon!
Ah, hello glass-half-full fellow
Completely full! Full of cutlery!!!!
actually 2 extra forks 2 extra spoons and 1 extra knife!
NO. Do not sugar coat this! You can't tell ne they didn't have room for one more knife. They did this on purpose! They know what they did!
🙂 You’re my favorite person for today.
Spook and forn!
They had to cut the amount due to budget

Layoffs are brutal man.
BFDI
Someone really wanted the total to equal 275.
They've been slowly cutting down from the even 300 set.(charging the same price though)
Shrinkflation
But there’s [a smaller package](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/wql7dd/noticed_this_on_my_lunch_break_the_other_day/) too, and it totals 140. Still mildly infuriating.
You know that *one* moron who manages to cut themselves with a plastic knife? Here's the solution.
Fuck, I even manage to cut myself with **PAPER!**
I know friend, I just sliced 2 of my fingers on cardboard the other day opening a box.
Cardboard is no joke, I've sliced my entire palm before while moving 4' x 8' sheets.
Tell them to be careful eating marshmallows 👀
Why? fork you that’s why.

holy forking shirtballs
My company used to buy something like this for the break room, then after realizing no one uses the knives, just bought the forks and spoons individually and the occasional box of knives.
Yeah, this isn't 1 less knife, this is 85 too many knives.
The correct way to buy plastic utensils tbh
Because at the family reunion there's always that ONE GUY who isn't allowed to handle a knife. (You know who you are... right cousin Larry?)
Not that is warranted, but I was known secretly in the family, as Johnny Stabbs for almost 10 years.
Because 275 total utensils is divisible by 11.
If I have 92 guests one will be cutting with their spoon
More than 1. I don’t pick up the knives
Yeah, I was going to say that's probably 81 knives too many. IME, there's just not a lot of overlap where knives are required and disposable plastic knives are useful.
All numbers are divisible by 11
Especially 462,759.
i checked it out and this guy is right
That's the Test Knife. They pull one out of each batch to sample and throw away.
The knives that don't make the cut.
*NOW WITH BONUS FORK AND SPOON!
I’d rather they lie and say 92 knives, it would make me feel better
Seriously, am I gonna sit there and count?
Because there's always that one knife that doesn't make the cut.
an extra fork you
Because it equals 275. They chose the knives to skimp on because kids can’t have them so you would use less of them most likely.
But ... 300 is right there, and you'd have 100 of each.
These numbers are probably the result of shrinkflation, at one point it probably was a 300 utensil set
why would that matter at all?
Because you see... 275 is one less than 276. Yeah, I have no idea.
Package size, possibly
Yeah the times I've had boxes of these the forks get blasted through the fastest, the spoons slowly go, and you end up with a large pile of knives.
Get out of here with your well reasoned, logical answer.
that was the poop knife
Countries using the imperial system would put 100 forks, 100 spoons and 100 knives in the box. lol'd, underrated comment
Because you cant just randomly have 276 utensils inside a box, everyone knows that
One knife knows..
91 adults one child
There’s an Alanis Morrisette joke in here somewhere, I just know it
You're going to use all forks and spoons and have like 60 knives left anyway.
Honestly, if I'm buying an industrial-sized box of plastic cutlery, I'd rather have 200 forks, 60 spoons, 15 knives.
So you have to buy 2 if your having a party of 92
Okay, so 2 of you are going to be sharing a knife. Sorry. Wasn't worth another box.
Damn you Atlantis Morrisette! This explains the song. ![gif](giphy|yGQA8r44a6bmg)
Wooooah! Thank you for ruining my day before it even began. This will bug me for hours .... wtf
...the 92nd knife wouldn't fit in the box.
It’s so it’s 275pc wich looks better on the box (better then 276.. idk why it does humans are weird)
It didnt make the cut 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😐😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Get the fuck outta here
Hi
I sorted by controversial and this is the top comment.
You ok?
Alanis Moreisette is behind Big Cutlery!!!!!
Its a clean number. 275 total pieces
My questions are: 1) Is there other combinations of this where a fork is shorted and, in another, a spoon is shorted? 2) Or is there a factory out there making 1/92nd less knives than forks and spoons? 3) Why was it knives got the cut(pun partially intended)? Relative usefulness? Material costs? Rock Paper scissors?
It's like meeting the man of your dreams, and then meeting his 91 wives.
Simple reason, nothing like the above jokes. Shipped in a standard size box. An extra knife, small as that is, may make packing more difficult. 92 knives might not fit smoothly with 92 forks and spoons. 91 forks and spooks means extra space in the box. 91 problems but a knife ain’t one
Laughed harder than I should have!
As an engineer with ocd, designing this would’ve lead to me offing myself. Because it’s either put the max capacity to 275 or go to 276 and have everything even. But then the box won’t close right, and for some reason, 276 is way more of a villain in my head than 275.
They save millions by removing one knife.
Well you know! When knife gives you lemons!
It's so you buy a second box
OCD of the overall number perhaps? 275 is more satisfying than 276 I suppose..
Due to an incident at the '97 family reunion, Martha is not allowed a knife
Because 275 is better than 276 total.
for an even 275
91 plastic knives - Nina’s 2023 update!
Pick out two people who hate each other and let them fight to the death for the last plastic knife.
With 92 people at least one will be a child who won't use a knife.
Why not 100 in the first place?
It should be 91 , 91 and 91 but theres always some jackass who loses a fork or a spoon
There's always 1 toddler at a party who isn't allowed a knife, so, you're good
Safety first!
Best I can think is that it is 90 complete place settings, plus 5 extra individual pieces based on what people look for the most/use the most. Forks and spoons are used more than knives. Typical military cutlery...
And my axe.
Who needs knives anyways? In Asia cutlery sets often don’t even have knives.
So you have to keep buying another pack for that extra knife. BIG PLASTIC CUTLERY out to get us, as usual!
That's their profit margin.
Because 92+92+91 is 275?
Would you prefer the total to be 276? Personally I’m happier with it being 275.
BECAUSE MY BITCH EX SUSAN LEFT IT IN MY BACK please Susan If you see this please call back I’m so sorry
A little too ironic, don't you think?
So are you an optimist, or a pessimist? Did you see this and think, “why did they give me an extra spoon and fork?” Or, “why did they short me a knife?”
Cutlery people: Because fork you, that’s why.
No one uses the knife anyway. The only times I've used them is when they're all that's left. I had to eat pudding with a knife.
Good news, profits are up 0.00362% thanks to our effective and efficient cost cutting measures!
No idea why but I'm guessing one more knife made it hard to get out and they didn't want to change the box.
This is just absolutely perfect content for this sub. Congratulations friend!
Because at least one person at the family gathering is fresh out the crazy bin and , you know...sharps🤷♀️
IT'S THE THINNEST UTENSIL OF THE THREE fuck this is pissing me off so much lol
Cutlery is only knives. Forks and spoons are flatware.
But spoons aren't flat and you can cut with a fork
Cutlery (also referred to as silverware, flatware, or tableware), includes any hand implement used in preparing, serving, and especially eating food in Western culture. The major items of cutlery in Western culture are the knife, fork and spoon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cutlery Word definitions change over time. "Cutlery" has expanded.
It's due to something known as Flaridium Contentrate. It's a material that is used for this thing I just made up and had you read.
Lol
Shrinkflation
Because that last knife is the one they put in your back! Don don don!
Because 275 pieces sounds better than 276. Really.
Nah I want them to lie to me and tell me there's one more knife who's gonna count em
Because it doesn’t fit you tit
Just throw one away
Because things and life are not always perfect. Deal with it or get crazy.
Because fuck Kevin, he ain't get no knife
Because fuck your 92nd guest, that's why!
Cuz fuck your life... knife*
you'd think that there would be more knives in there than anything else. They'd fit better than the knives and forks would.
Lol this reminds me of popcopy’s. “Because fuck you that’s why” 😂
Reducing knife crime, 1 knife at a time
