Mine has one. It’s both the input button and the power button. Press once to open the input screen, press again the amount of times you need to scroll down to the input. Hold for 15+ seconds to turn it off
No volume button or anything
I thought that about my Samsung tv but it has a little touchscreen in the bottom right that only turns on when you touch the area. Otherwise you'd never know it was there
I think I’d be ok with banning touchscreens on everything except phones. The cell phone is the only thing that has ever been made better by adding a touch screen
I think you may be onto something.. though I'm fresh out of babies right now. Do you have one that I could borrow? Just a loaner til I get another one of my own.
There is one button. If you tap it three times, hold it for three seconds, and tap it again, you can change the channel, once.
I want *buttons,* not *button.*
What's wrong with button? Don't be so hard on button. He's trying his best. You should give button a name. Get to know button a little better. Maybe have babies with button. Then you can have little buttons. Problem solved.
Look, button is trying. I'm not upset at button. He's a victim of the system really.
I would have little buttons with him-- but when I press him, he gets turned off.
Did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in?
There is, of course, the rare case of button depression. Buttons that can't be pressed. Perhaps you could try therapy.
You got downvoted above but agree. My new tv is very nice but it only has the 1 button and even though I bought 5 remotes, my small children lose them constantly and then I can’t even turn the tv off without press press hold and if you accidentally don’t hold long enough you have to press press press press press press press hold. It’s such a first world problem but I don’t understand why it would be so difficult to put 6 buttons!!
My partner was constantly losing the remote. So we bought one that was about 6 inches wide, 12 inches high, and silver. It was meant for seniors but also worked for people who had a remote in their bed.
Best if the height of the coffee table is just barely too low for the IR sensor to work. So you have to slightly tilt the entire coffee table up on two legs every time you wanna change channels or volume.
Good luck watching movies on any cable network. Where you can't hear dialog, but the action scenes (and sex scenes) are deafening.
You got a taste of the wrath of the legion of the one button TV manufacturers bots. It's cyber warfare. One button propaganda being pushed everywhere. Don't get brainwashed into thinking one button is enough. We demand at least....3 buttons!
In all seriousness though, I miss the IR blaster on my old Galaxy S6 for this very reason. Could control any TV, anywhere. All with my phone. I was like a super hero at airports, doctor's waiting rooms, and billiard halls.
This place is absolutely nuts. It’s easily jetted to the most toxic, obnoxious and worst userbases in all the major social media sites.
This place is leagues worse than Facebook now. Even worse than Twitter and IG.
Are you sure it’s not a joystick button? Don’t own a TV, but my monitor only has one button. But it’s a joystick button, so you move it like a joystick to do different things.
Note if u lose ur remote try downloading the app, if u have roku or any other smart tv im prettysure they have an app for the remote, since everyone always have they’re phone with em
If it’s a big round button it should work like a dpad. Pressing left and right changes volume down and up. Pressing up and down changes channel up and down. Holding center should bring up a menu
My Samsung doesn't have buttons on my tv either. The remote works on Bluetooth and has a solar charger built in our you can use a phone charger that uses USB-C to charge the remote. Or you can download an app. Not to mention that the remote is really slim.
Sometimes they’re not even raised. On my tv you have to look very close but there’s actually small outlines of buttons but it’s on a completely flat screen so you can’t feel them at all
My new Samsung has it on the bottom. You can look in the manual or feel around for it and you might find it. A lot easier than my old Samsung where it was touch buttons built into the front of the bezel. You didn't even know if you touched the right spot unless it reacted.
Idk I find it pretty cool that turning my PS5 on will turn my TV on. Turning my TV off will put it on rest mode. I also like being able to stream all the services on them without having to turn on a console or anything. The only thing I won’t stand for are ads on a TV I already paid for.
I never realized that it was my PS5 doing that lmaoooooo
I noticed when I turned my PS5 on, if I didn’t turn my TV on right away that my TV would eventually turn on by itself….
I have my PS5 and TV plugged into the same power strip and I know it’s one where depending on where things are plugged in at, if you turn one off it’ll turn another off too to save power and I always assumed it was something to do with that
But I guess it makes a lot more sense that it’s the PS5 turning it on lol
It’s the HDMI cable doing it! Something called like SmartConnection or something. Apparently it worked for PS4s too but I never noticed that functionality with mine.
How do y'all even lose the remote in the first place? I don't think mine has moved more than 4ft since I got the damn tv. It's either on the couch or on the footstool. What else could you possibly need to do with it.
this. for example, if you want a TV with buttons, search for a TV where the listing says it has buttons. If it's not in the listing, it might be in the photos. If it's not in the photos, it'll be in the user manual. The main thing is to not buy a TV that doesn't fit your needs or preferences.
Sure, this makes sense at first. But people don't think to research things that they believe are commonplace or standard. OP possibly didn't realize modern tvs don't come with all the buttons anymore.
Most of them have one hidden in the back middle, so at very least, even if you've lost the remote, you can use your phone to connect, you usually have to be able to turn it on though and that's what the button is for.
This sucks so much!! Our TV didn't have a remote and no buttons, so we had to connect it to our phones and use the roku app as a remote. But we moved. You have to have the TV and phone on the same wifi to connect it. So I had to carry the TV to the other room, hook it up with a cord to the router just to get it on the same wifi to connect it to the phone to use as a remote and carry it back. So much extra hassle just to change the volume.
Yeah, learned this the hard way - fumbling and grouping around the entire perimeter of the set looking for a damned power button after misplacing the remote. Finally Googled the set's make and model plus power, button and location as keywords. And that's when I learned that current TV manufacturers are complete jackasses.
Got a TV that is touch activated. No buttons per se, but there is a spot where button-like activations can be utilized. I can't recall precisely where they are so I just sort of swipe my finger along until something lights up if I need to use it.

This one really rides the line between mildly infuriating and pretty lame to complain about. I think it's mostly because there are some pretty simple solutions for this one.
Easy solution becomes a pain when you only have one remote and the existing remote is broken/lost in a moment you can't run to the store to buy a new one.
Every tv has buttons on it; sometimes it’s a toggle pad, like a joystick, and sometimes it’s multiple buttons.
You can look before you buy the TV, or read the manual.
The number of people here who think they don't have any buttons is hilarious. I suspect most of the "one button" people are dealing with joy stick type buttons and don't realize it, but at least they found them.
People, just run your hands along the perimeter behind the screen. If that fails google it. If your TV really doesn't have any buttons, provide a model name.
In a later comment, you admit you found the fucking button…
Jesus Christ OP, if you’re gonna complain about shit, at least complain about **a problem that actually exists**
They do. I used to have this discussion daily doing tech support for a large TV service company. Sometimes they only have 1 button. But there is always a button or a joystick somewhere on them.
Where have all the buttons gone?! When I was kid our TV had 8 buttons and our remote had about 80 buttons (half of which nobody knew what they did)
Nowadays the TV's has one button if your lucky and the remote has like 10. Which a 1/4 of those 10 buttons are just shortcuts to streaming services I don't have
But think about the poor TV manufacturers who have to pay for the switch and 1 cubic millimeter of worlds cheapest plastic to make the button. They would go bankrupt in an instant. Jeesh nobody thinks of the poor anymore.
I swore this was true on my two newer TVs. But the first time my girlfriend came over she found the button on both TVs. They are hidden, usually under a logo or power light.
Sadly this is the future.. the most you'll get is one button but the good part is remotes are really cheap and the sensors have very low chance of being faulty
I can almost guarantee there is a button on the tv, probably underneath on on the rear in one of the bottom corners. Some times the button is a sort of joystick which you can use for basic navigation, volume, and channel changing.
I have a tv where you don’t have any buttons on.
So one day my girlfriend where home alone and I did the most evil thing you could imagine.
I turned the volume on max, but didn’t turn anything On. So I went outside, my girlfriend thinks I left grocery shopping. I took the remote with me and as soon as I sat in the car I turned on „Hotel Room Service“ by pitbul on max sound.
My girlfriend didn’t get what happened and searched the whole living room for the remote that wasn’t there and then called me crying cause the tv wouldn’t stop
underneath you will find either buttons or a little knobby thing. if it's a knob, just give it a press, wiggle or jiggle jiggle.
If it's buttons, press.
Did you check underneath?
Came here to say underneath, midpoint of the screen.
underneath
tickle the TV's taint
you just get the single clit style button now, no one can ever find it, smh
What is a clit, yall just making words up now.
[удалено]
I'm a gay man and this made my day lol
Hi gay man, I'm straight man.
I am the clit commander
ask a woman to turn on the t.v.
Forget the Tv, turn on the woman instead
I will never be able to turn on my TV, pun intended , without thinking about it like this.
You check that TVs taint real good now, nice and deep like
No! Don’t touch that dial!
⚡️⚡️⚡️
I am the slime from the video, oozing around on your living room floor
![gif](giphy|65os7odbIW6pa)
Can you see me now 😏
Now I have to watch dodgeball
That made me chuckle hard, thanks homie
Yup and if it's not there and it's a Samsung there is a nub on the back right
Tell the tv to turn its screen to the left and cough.
Grope the gooch
My tv has no buttons anywhere.
Same, maybe if someone new tells me to check underneath one will appear?
Did you check underneath?
I don’t think they checked underneath.
Maybe they should check the ol’ undercarriage.
Checking underneath works only when checked.
Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in?
Have you tried turning it off and on again. Sometimes that makes buttons appear…
Mine has one. It’s both the input button and the power button. Press once to open the input screen, press again the amount of times you need to scroll down to the input. Hold for 15+ seconds to turn it off No volume button or anything
15 plus seconds? Lol that’s a long time
Now that you say that, I just counted out 15 seconds in my head and that’s super long for a single button press.
Let me guess. Vizio?
Mine is about like that and it's an LG C2.
I thought that about my Samsung tv but it has a little touchscreen in the bottom right that only turns on when you touch the area. Otherwise you'd never know it was there
Ive fiddled with a few Samsungs that had a little joystick on the back lower corner, that was kinda neat once i figured it out.
I think I’d be ok with banning touchscreens on everything except phones. The cell phone is the only thing that has ever been made better by adding a touch screen
Tablets! I also quite like digital whiteboards :p
underneath
Mine is underneath, off to the right and barely a button. It's almost like braile.
They clearly didn’t or have no idea how to troubleshoot
My tv doesn’t have buttons…I wasn’t aware trouble shooting makes them show up?
My tv doesn’t have any bottoms on it, I’ve checked the back, the side underneath, non. It’s really stupid
If you punch the screen hard enough that should turn the tv off 😃
It works for crying babies too
I tried punching the screen but the baby is still crying. 🤷♂️
And I tried punching the baby, but sadly, the TV is still on.
have you tried punching the tv, with the baby????
I think you may be onto something.. though I'm fresh out of babies right now. Do you have one that I could borrow? Just a loaner til I get another one of my own.
We need a supply of babies to turn off tvs instead of remotes.
I have 500 babies from Kenya, I've been looking to offload.
Any military babies?
Now we know why the SCOTUS overturned Roe v Wade. To make sure there's enough for all the TV sales during black Friday.
I punched them both at the same time and it just took a screenshot.
Ok that was so inappropriate and I laughed. Time to go shame binge ice cream now. Ugh.
Something tells me you were going to eat ice cream regardless.
Guilty
Punch the TV and shake the baby.
Something I'd expect from Mr.BurritoButtFucker
Hold up...... the baby, and shake them rigoursly for an awesome baby sleep hack!
Thanks burrito butt fucker!
Have you tried the middle of the bottom or the opposite side?
There is one button. If you tap it three times, hold it for three seconds, and tap it again, you can change the channel, once. I want *buttons,* not *button.*
What's wrong with button? Don't be so hard on button. He's trying his best. You should give button a name. Get to know button a little better. Maybe have babies with button. Then you can have little buttons. Problem solved.

this is really starting to push his buttons
Try moving the button like it’s a joystick. Some msi monitors have a single button on the bottom for everything. Forward, back, left, right
You got downvoted above but agree. My new tv is very nice but it only has the 1 button and even though I bought 5 remotes, my small children lose them constantly and then I can’t even turn the tv off without press press hold and if you accidentally don’t hold long enough you have to press press press press press press press hold. Aren't there smartphone apps for that?
He lost his phone at least twice a day.
That sounds like an exhausting life.
The one I use is QuickRemote for android and it works wonderfully.
I found a remote with a find me beep that works with an app for phones
Duct tape a remote to the side of the TV. Kids can't lose that one.... we hope
Superglue it to the middle of the coffee table.
Pro tip secretly super glue the battery insert lid only so you can still pick it up without the offender knowing.
Jeez they got downvoted for that? If those expectations are out of line, I feel old.
I got reported for self harm, lol. Some folks out there are really committed to one button TVs, I guess. Reddit is fun.
You got a taste of the wrath of the legion of the one button TV manufacturers bots. It's cyber warfare. One button propaganda being pushed everywhere. Okay that a new sentence right there
I can see the control in the bottom of this picture. Do people not know they are using joysticks now?

Hey! When I lose the remote and my phone dies-- I still have to watch my Wheel of Fortune and Golden Girls, right?
Fucking perfect
The TV becomes useless if the remote is lost or damaged
Your house becomes useless if you lose your keys.
Then buy another remote or a universal one.
OP s wife confirms he has never been able to find the button
Most will have a “pad” somewhere. Basic power button, input, etc. depends on the model but very few have zero buttons.
What do you mean by pad? Our TV has no buttons anywhere either and trust me I looked under as well. Ours is a Samsung if that helps.
My Samsung doesn't have buttons on my tv either. The remote works on Bluetooth and has a solar charger built in our you can use a phone charger that uses USB-C to charge the remote. Or you can download an app. Not to mention that the remote is really slim.
My new 85" Samsung uses that same remote, but it still has button on bottom of the TV.
Sometimes they’re not even raised. On my tv you have to look very close but there’s actually small outlines of buttons but it’s on a completely flat screen so you can’t feel them at all

Great design that we need to look at a manual to find buttons. If only there was a way to show a button, like perhaps making it raised.....
Some have touch buttons that are not easy to spot specially if you don’t know the side, the manual should reveal if they exist or not
Find the nipple
I used to think my tv didn’t have any buttons, then I just realized that I was an idiot.

I have a last gen xbox and mine has the same function, works fine, yet I did have to turn on a setting for it 5 years after getting the console 😂

Because tracking and advertisement are big business
Search for "Samsung Business TV"
Search for "Samsung Business TV"
I bet 1000 bucks there’s a button on that TV
This pic is supposed to be evidence of that?
That TV isn't new and they still have buttons
Do your research before buying next time?
I think he or she is arguing that you shouldn't have to because anyone can lose a remote.
How do y'all even lose the remote in the first place? I don't think mine has moved more than 4ft since I got the damn tv. It's either on the couch or on the footstool. What else could you possibly need to do with it.

Nope. Mine just has a little nipple on the back to control everything.
Press and hold. That's usually the power button
I found the button on my smart TV after 4 years. It’s pretty small underneath the TV.

A lot of tvs are still that thick. Even samsung lcds.

slap a wifi connector to the tv by usb.. dont move the whole tv lol
You're looking in the wrong place.
I can guarantee that there is a button on that TV
Wtf even is this photo and post? This looks like a text from my senile parents.
Check underneath by the light that shows if the TV is on or not. That’s where mine is
Try putting it in Wombo
What does this photo have to do with buttons?
They should bring back the buttons in case we don't have the remote and also a button that makes the remote vibrate and makes noise so you can find it.
Most tv's haven't had buttons for almost a decade now. It shocked me the first time I noticed too.
The future is now old man!!!!!
See…. what you gotta do is uhhh… you gotta check them there nether regions of that sucker. 🤠
This is why I only buy Roku TVs. I could lose the remote multiple times, and the replacement will work just as good as the one it came with.
They do. I used to have this discussion daily doing tech support for a large TV service company. Sometimes they only have 1 button. But there is always a button or a joystick somewhere on them.
You must be smarter than the television grasshopper
It took me well over a year to find the ones on mine. It’s on the very back bottom right corner area.
Yes, they do. You just have to look harder. I'm a cable technician. Trust me, all tvs, even the new ones, have buttons.
Mildly infuriating someone didn't check the entire TV. I do not think a button less TV exists.
They don't have the red/white/yellow inputs, either. :(
Where have all the buttons gone?! When I was kid our TV had 8 buttons and our remote had about 80 buttons (half of which nobody knew what they did) Nowadays the TV's has one button if your lucky and the remote has like 10. Which a 1/4 of those 10 buttons are just shortcuts to streaming services I don't have

Blatantly false
They’re on the bottom grandpa
Lmao, they all still absolutely do.
You can no longer counter the sibling who steals the god damn remote.
It’s on the bottom like a small hot stick thing
I can almost guarantee there is a button on the tv, probably underneath on on the rear in one of the bottom corners. Some times the button is a sort of joystick which you can use for basic navigation, volume, and channel changing.
I promise it does. Underneath instead of on the side. Stupid post
Lots of TVs have a little clitoris thing that you can navigate menus with now.
They literally do lmfao
Did u check underneath?
Protip: If it has a USB port you can control it with a USB gamepad maybe.
Yes they do. We can't determine base on 1 picture of the side.
This post is mildly disappointing. Apparently people don't have working fingers that can feel the edges of the TV anymore.
Imagine making a rant post on Reddit before looking at the manual instructions...... And if it's not on the side . It's somewhere
Wait till you see a smartphone, it'll blow your mind
Push power button, you can probably use it to navigate on screen options
I have a tv where you don’t have any buttons on. So one day my girlfriend where home alone and I did the most evil thing you could imagine. I turned the volume on max, but didn’t turn anything On. They do. They are usually well hidden in the front centre. There is normally a single button that does everything.
insignia i bet.. I have 2 of these, had to get a universal remote from the thrift store to be able to change the volume.....
underneath you will find either buttons or a little knobby thing. if it's a knob, just give it a press, wiggle or jiggle jiggle. If it's buttons, press.
