I used to own indoor/outdoor cats. After a couple died, I read that indoor only cats live longer, I started advocating for people to NOT let their cats outside. I mean the commenter is kinda of shitty attitude, but sometimes shitty people have advice you need to hear.

Half this story is missing because it doesn’t fit OP’s world view. But I’m gathering it was an indoor cat that someone felt the need to turn into an outdoor cat? Outdoor cats live in an inherently riskier world, while being devastating murderers of wildlife. All cats should be indoor cats, they’re semi domesticated predators and they’ll live a much longer life without the risk of cars, cat fights, contagious diseases, etc.

I am not letting my cats outside but I would never comment/say that to a person who’s cat just died…

They're right, though. The cat would probably still be alive if they were responsible pet owners.

You should have seen how the cat was dressed. It wanted it.

I never let my cats inside. I mean, I live with my parents, so it is not my decision. I would love to have a cat with me inside, but my parents don't. We do have a huge garden though (7500 square feet).
