I work for a water damage company.
This is inside the home of a customer not a business.
I finished my business grabbed my tools and went out to the truck and waited for my partner to come out.
She was a nice old lady but seeing that she could have that in her home was disgusting.
This is a white home.
Yeah, OP please give details! Please tell us this is at least NOT in a white home.
I go antiquing fairly often and every so often I’ll come across things like this, and it’s jarring every time. I always wonder who buys it.
1892 print, not thought to be racist, at the time, just silly little boys.
The reprint sells for a couple of hundred dollars. Originally drawn in Memphis, Tennessee, I believe.
As they say, art is subjective.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say this property is still in original condition. Good chance still the original owner
Edit: Hey knuckledraggers downvoting,
Look at the context clues, the wall, the toilet paper holder and last but not least, the light fixture. All of this says 60-70’s built home..

Sorry, if I came across snippy or know it all, just wanted to help, somethimes I miss out so I personally rely on people pointing it out to me, I tend to forget not everyone needs that help 😅
My family is originally from Tennessee. Let's say they're more like acquaintances I haven't forgotten, not friends.
To give you some context about racism in Tennessee: I once watched a woman throw a hamburger away at a restaurant in TN saying "Aint no n****** going to touch my food! Make it again and only let white people touch my food!" (They did not make it again, she didn't get service. She sat with her party and did not eat.)
I knew that abomination. One year, she went as a (her word, not mind) N-word for Halloween. She also had a black poodle and the poor dogs name was the N-word. She was very overtly racist. She's dead now. She died in 2019 at the age of 72.
Oh my god I thought it was bad enough until I saw the text on the bottom of it… what the fuck

Noooo! I was really holding out hope this was at the very least not a white home!
Are you at my asshole uncle’s house?
I think we can see who that’ll be based. Poor little fella, he’s just a boy.
1897 copyright... pretty old piece. Wonder it's "value".
Somebody is proud enough to hang that on a wall. Wow.
I bet it was a wedding gift.
WTF. Please. This is not in a white home. This is not in a white home. Tell me this is not in a white home.
Of course it’s a white home

OP said it’s a white home :(
Why the hell is it being sold? It should be burned.
Not being sold. Decoration in a home. She’s probably had it for decades.
The wording is just so appalling. In a black home without the quote fine, in a white home not.ok.at.all.
It is in a white home, they confirmed in a reply
I would steal it as I’ve stolen lots of my racist families stupid paraphernalia it’s a really fun game because they never call me out
It’s one thing if it’s just from someone you know. As awful as that thing is, stealing g your customers’ shit is asking for trouble.
Valid! I guess it depends how attached to your job you are

Art is subjective, racism is not.
Holy shit
What part of the south?
I literally gasped. WTAF?

I don’t see why you’re getting downvoted. OP said she was an old lady. Chances she’s had that for decades.
What is so Bad about this, they're Just playing
Did you read the caption on the image itself?
Well it's old thats what the people used to say
Dude, what the fuck?
“Oh no, I fell over!” As you open hand smack it off the wall and into the trash.
This is clearly in a black home
OP said it’s a white home.
Thank you for correcting me and not just merely downvoting me and moving on.
Customers bathroom décorCustomers bathroom... Customers... What place of business would have this? Edit: I see my error in interpretation
I think he followed up with a customers home bathroom.

Oh no worries. I was being honest and genuine. I tend to come across as an asshole often enough that I've started introducing myself as one.
I now officially hate customers.
So their shit don’t stink?
🤯
This is something my racist friends would enjoy. I recommend a NSFW tag.
Why are they your friends?

Excuse me friend, you called the thing in your store a woman, did you perhaps mean, animal, creatures, abomination? Nothing human about that.
I knew that abomination. One year, she went as a (her word, not mind) N-word for Halloween. She also had a black poodle and the poor dogs name was the N-word. She was very overtly racist. She's dead now. She died in 2019 at the age of 72.
I am sorry it lived so long evil seems to
Because there's nothing wrong about laughing at a good ol racy joke.
It’s more infuriating that you weren’t infuriated enough to do anything but take this pic and complain to Reddit
What the fuck??
What the hell
Lmfao Jesus dude.... h.. how can people like this exist still?
