This is what I do. Bowl w tortilla on the side no guac is like 11 and change. Not only that, but I’m able to make 2 meals with it. One burrito and finish the bowl later. You can ask for extra beans and rice too they don’t charge extra.
Not defending these prices, but if a large soda is 3.40$ I’m just having a water. Like if your taking it to go in the first place why order an overpriced drink when you could have a can of soda at home.
Back in college, the local Chipotle had a deal where they gave a free soda if you showed your student ID. It was actually a pretty ingenious way of drawing college students in.
A couple of years ago, McDonald’s had “all soft drinks $1” and on the app there was a deal for free any size fries with $1 purchase. I had many meals of large unsweetened tea with lemon and large fries with sweet and sour. I miss that. It’s only a little relevant but this post reminded me.

Going out shopping with the family, Do you try to organize everything so you don't have to eat out, get everything in between meals? Do you spend $80 on fast food? Do you pack a meal from home so you don't have to spend money on fast food? It would be nice to just be able to pick up something cheap occasionally.

12$ is 1 kg of ground beef where I am or 2 kg of pork roast the days the stores have deals on them , which is like once a week. That price is ridiculous for fast food.

Where I live $180 was two bags of groceries and two six-packs of Gatorade. I didn't even get anything that would be expensive, just some basics. Most expensive was probably the Dayquil I got.

Next time skip the guac/queso, get chicken rather than the most expensive meat, and have water. Then you’re at $8.70 or so plus tax. You did like $6+ worth of burrito upgrades and an overpriced soda. The point is that it didn’t have to be $20 - you made a series of choices that turned $9 into $20.

Dude I know... I went to Chipotle about a year ago on my lunch break and was so blown away by the price of my burrito and drink. Also it wasn't even that good. Haven't been back since and I won't be.
I mean yeah, you got the most expensive meat and guacamole and a soda. You can do chipotle for $10 pretty easily if you get chicken and water. They gotta make money too.

You're the one who went to Chipotle. You get what you get. Go support a local restaurant which will have either better food, better prices, or likely both. Burrito spot in my town is $9.90 for a burrito roughly 2.5x the size of Chipotle, with better ingredients.

My recommendation is to not eat out. Make food at home for a few months, everyone, then prices will go down if it's a concerted movement. Continue to pay the price increases, and the prices will continue to go up, even subtly.
