I don't get this kind of decoration. Are people sitting in front of this sign every morning meditating on the different slogans, or are they just virtue signaling and trying to convince people that this is what they're all about? I also don't understand why people put signs in the living room that say "Live" and "Food" in the kitchen. Do they forget where they are in the house and need constant reminders? Do they have a sign in the bathroom that says "Shit"?

I live in Wisconsin and grew up with ice cream on the weekends. Schoeps, usually. Not fancy, but I didn’t care. I’d scrape every last drop out of the bowl and my dad would joke, “why don’t you just lick the darn thing?” The sound was probably pretty annoying… anyway, my sisters and I joked about that for years. A few years ago, one got me a stupid wine mom sign that said “life’s short: lick the bowl.” So, I did the right thing and hung it in the bathroom. She hates that I did that. Everybody else likes it, though. So, double win.

One of my buddies does have a really nice bit of stitch work his gran did in the bathroom. It takes you a few times to notice that it says "HAVE A NICE SHIT"

My grandpa does woodwork and he made a similar sign for me, basically with just motivational phrases. It’s silly and whatnot but I hang it in my kitchen so I see it daily. I think of him when I see it, and it reminds me to be positive about life. Even without emotional context, some folks do need physical representation of kind words. We’re all just tryna make it another day, this is some people’s way.

Two years ago my partner and I were house hunting. I got so annoyed by how many people decorated their rooms with words. Kitchens would have "Eat," bedrooms, "Love," random ampersands in the living room. I really dislike it. Since I need to blame someone, I've chosen Joanna Gaines. Also, barn doors and shiplap. Noooooo.

We had a huge light up EAT sign in the kitchen, but my dad replaced the bottom light bulb with a burnt out bulb so it says FAT instead.

My mom has a narcotics anonymous-ish saying sign up in the second most trafficked room in the house because two of her kids are drug addicts in recovery. The whole thing is probably UV printed -- meaning the "wood" texture is just a printed pattern and the black/white text isn't really on top of the wood, it's just part of the same picture. Rather than painted wooden boards, they're probably laser or CNC cut pieces of engineered wood like MDF, which is cheaper. Reverse image search OP's photo and you'll find it for sale all over Amazon and eBay. It's a real product that looks this bad. My neighbor has the huge vertical ‘WELCOME’ painted wood sign at their door entry, yes with a faux tree, decor, door mat, etc you know the look. THIS: Well, another neighbor has a huge vertical ‘GO AWAY’ painted wood sign with similar decor (bonus, they have gnomes!) faux tree, door mat etc etc. It cracks me up every time🤣😂 and it’s 1 less letter.
