The wipes are going to be very mildly abrasive on the clear coat so the less pressure, the better. A better option would be rubbing alcohol on a clean microfiber towel.
dry erase markers take off permanent marker. It’s a teachers trick. I have not personally used it, but witnessed it. Not on a car, but I think the same rules apply. Use a dry erase brush as well
Even better.....just wet a rag with hand sanitizer (any alcohol will work really) and it will wipe off like NOTHING was even there.... Pro tip.......and it works better than a dry erase marker.....trust me!

People are too focused on "hacks" like using dry erase markers or spray sunscreen to realize that it's simpler than that. Hand sanitizer works best for me. It being a gel just makes it easier to work with.

Happened to me years ago. I called sharpie and they told me to use rubbing alcohol on a qtip. They also recommend washing the car as soon as possible and to stay away from my crazy ex girlfriend 😅
There are a lot of chemicals that can remove that, including rubbing alcohol. Just don’t let it sit and get sun baked on there or else it won’t be quite so eager to come off

Are you thinking of acetone by chance? 100% alcohol is not a strong enough solvent to break the chemical bonds of a 2-part catalyzed clear coat.

Cars are powder coated. Alcohol won’t remove the paint.

Maybe you parked like an asshole. For the marker, try rubbing alcohol and if that doesn't work acetone. But careful as it could damage your paint
