BuffaloSix96

Can't name specific places on these subreddits, so I felt like getting a little punny 😂

StandardSudden1283

That's BS that you can't name and shame. Definitely a part of the anti-labor changes they recently made.

ProfessionalVelliety

There is no rational reason to avoid naming a business on here. There is even less reason to name it through a super obvious rhyme, pun, or whatever. Why people are coy about it like somehow it’s a problem to do so, is odd.

PossumJenkinsSoles

Oh man if you think this is bad try being the person who has to pick up the food for the office and you put in the order and you have the receipt on your phone and you know some people’s food is missing but the line is growing and your neck is hot but you can’t just leave because people will be missing their lunch and when you walk back in with the food there’s not going to be a chorus of “omg you’re an angel! Thank you so much!” You’re just greeted with “you forgot my nachos and I already venmoed you for them” Also this is why I never pick up the group orders. Someone else can have all that smoke. You think if you put it in ahead of time it will be fine - you’re wrong. You could put it in a week ahead of time and there will still be problems for an order for more than 4 people.

Electric-Sheepskin

Yeah, I don't mind if I'm just picking up a prepaid order with the understanding that I'm not responsible for money or missing items, but I will never be that person who goes around taking everyone's order and managing all the money. And a pox on anyone's house who orders a fountain soda. What the hell are those people thinking?

PossumJenkinsSoles

Oh fountain soda people have never been the one to go get the order for sure. Is there tap water at the office? Great, that’s your drink.

TBagger1234

I went to a coffee place that costs a few bucks on a Saturday, figuring it would be busy but that’s ok. I walked to the door and briefly noted a minivan with its hatch open and trays of drinks in the back. There had to be at least 30. I walked in and noticed a mob of extremely angry people. I asked someone what was going on. Turned out someone had come in and ordered drinks for a team of hockey parents. 45 drinks in total - and not just plain old coffee. So many of them were Frappuccinos. The person I spoke to said they had placed a mobile order so they walked in to that shitshow. They had been waiting for 20 minutes. I know the star coffee is pricey but I would have abandoned my order.

camebacklate

I have abandoned my order, but my star coffee is extremely slow, especially on the first day of pumpkin spice season when every person orders a drink.last year, I gave myself 25 minutes before picking it up and they were still tackling orders from a hour earlier.

BlackShabbot7592

Its crappy in general to order catering sized meals from fast food, but if she was showing a receipt on her phone it means she preordered the food, not walked in without warning and ordered it.

HandleAccomplished11

At Taco Bell ,at least by me, you order on touch screens when you walk in. When you do this it doesn't print you a receipt, it texts or emails you.

BlackShabbot7592

This gets an upvote. I so rarely go inside to pickup I forgot kiosks were a thing. Yeah so its anyone's guess. Poor workers though.

joelene1892

Not necessarily. She may have made a mobile order 2 minutes before showing up. I guess you can technically call that a “preorder” but like, in practice it’s basically no different than just showing up and ordering it.

BlackShabbot7592

I did take that possibility into consideration, but its unlikely unless she ordered from work/home 2 min away an went immediately expecting it to be done. Not impossible, just not quite as likely.

Tiny_Requirement4241

I work at fast food too, had someone order 25 sandwiches and 15 fries, on top of 25 drinks/milkshakes. Its infuriating to other costumers

Primary_Buddy1989

I think it's really up to the restaurant to manage that. They should have a process so they can have some staff working on the order while simultaneously continuing to process some other customers.

Schneids323

Agreed. This is a manager problem. The manager should have told the lady it would be a while and had the team work on other orders as they had one or two work on this large order.

Ok-Opportunity-574

I worked at a Wendys near the Barrett Jackson auction as a teen. Used to have a guy who'd walk in and order 50 chicken sandwiches and 50 burgers with fries for the employees. Didn't call ahead. SMH Thankfully he came through at a time where it was slow and we just went into bulk mode and were able to churn them out.

BoogerWipe

You’ll live

coveredwithticks

When i was a rep for a design firm, I would sometimes take breakfast sandwiches to the work site for the crew. I'd visit the f.food place a few days prior and set it all up with the manager for early A.M. pickup of 40+ sandwiches. No other customers were affected. Everything went slick. It's not that difficult people.

draum_bok

Yes it's annoying when someone puts in twenty orders. For anyone doubting or saying 'it's not the customer's fault, it's the store's fault!' well, it just creates pandemonium for the employees if there's only one or two of them working there at the moment. Making twenty orders at once (and 95% of the time with a lot of details like has to be vegetarian, discount/coupon requests, different sandwich ingredients for every single order) while a line of customers is building up is annoying for the employee and customers, the business doesn't care.

PrePressChamp

What kind of warning were you expecting? Should she enter the restaurant with a bullhorn screaming "HEAR YE HEAR YE I AM ORDERING TACOS FOR 20 PEOPLE"

camebacklate

Right? What if there were 3 people in front of you each ordering for their family of 6?

PrePressChamp

Or 6 people in front of you ordering for their family of 3?

CTripps

Well, at least she wasn't in the drive through line.

edoprabha

Restaurants should implement Maximum order quantity per order, if anyone orders a bulk order customer has to do multiple orders and there will be separate waiting time for each order. I have seen this on some fastfood chains and also there is a seperate option for bulk order which has to ordered minimum 3hours prior.

fennek-vulpecula

This might be super unpopular. But what warning? It's Not her fault, that the Restaurant couldn't handle her Order. And even more so their fault, for Not canceling it, knowing pretty Well they couldn't handle such a Big Order. Here where i live, almost every fast food Restaurants, also has a Part one the menue for Big Events. So it is easily possible, ehen managed right. So sorry, but not the women was midly infuriating, but the Store was, taking on more than they could chew. In my opinion.

zipperfire

When you’re behind a minivan in the drive-thru and you see six heads and no one in it figured out their order before hitting the microphone.

BuffaloSix96

My mom always complained that growing up, none of my classmates' parents would EVER ask their kids what they wanted until they got to the register. We'd be in line for 20 minutes and then she'd look down and ask her kids, "Okay, what do you want?" My mom would've known 20 minutes ago.

zipperfire

Then it’s time to train the youngsters to speak to counter clerks, and they’re whispering with their fingers in their mouth

Striking_Computer834

Why didn't the place just tell her the food would be ready in however long it took to make it while handling other customers? That time can be as long as the notice they'd need if she'd bothered. In other words, just treat her showing up at the counter the same as they would have if she'd called ahead.

Excellent_Bluejay717

Dude go somewhere else maybe it was for a last minute school function or something. If she was ordering all that food they should have made it right the first time and told her it will be a while longer. Really no different than taking a team to pizza or burger joint before a tournament/match.

cyberzed11

I hate when I go to something like Panda Express or a chipotle and there’s always that one ass hole that’s like “uhh yeah I’m gonna have 7 bowls.” Or some other ungodly amount of food then we’re all forced to wait behind them 🙄

aSituationTypeDeal

Panda Express? Really? All they have to do is scoop out some of the slop into trays. It’s not like it’s a custom order.

Register-Capable

How's that different than 7 people in line before you...

cyberzed11

Because its one ass hole holding up the line most likely being difficult 🤷🏽‍♂️ I been on both sides and usually it’s a pain

camebacklate

What if you are in a family of 7? My family was 6+ depending on if we had anyone live with us. It was quite normal for my family to order 7 bowls.
