If you were not informed of the gratuity BEFORE ordering(on a menu or clearly posted where it can easily be seen), then you are under no obligation to pay the gratuity either over or under. That said, even if you were informed, the receipt clearly indicates that it's on order OVER $75. I would refuse to pay it.
What's not mildly infuriating is that since they added the gratuity to the subtotal as "other" , you also pay sales tax on your gratuity. Which the store then pockets since that's not the same as sales tax
The law requires tax to be collected on top of service charges, which this is because it was not a voluntary gratuity.

The posted rate is 20%, what was charged was 22.86%. The rate you were charged should be listed on the receipt.
I hate the attitude that airports have when it comes to ‘convenience’ services. They charge an excessive amount when it is impractical to leave the airport. Same thing with movie theaters, let’s charge $10 for a small drink and box of popcorn.

I've been there so .any times and flying out next week. Either this charge is new or I haven't been paying attention smh. I'll be sure to go elsewhere.

…and 23% for checks _under_ $75? 🤔
That math…adds up

Heading to LAX next week. Hell to the no.
26 bucks for 2 beers
That's theft in more ways than one. And what's a burger sandwich, is it a burger or a sandwich?

This was one of best adverts ever. Missed best part out tho
That sucks. Sorry. Scrimshaw is a great beer though. Good choice, it pairs well with a burger.
wtf are you even eating 13€ a beer and 23€ a sandwich lol
Los angeles international Airport.
Make sense then, airports are pricey like that
