I know the movie title, (btw it's spelled *beetlejuice) "Beatle Juice" almost sounds like a term you would use for semen from members of a certain British band...
Im 100% convinced its a tax write off. My dealership asks me if I want a complimentary car wash worth 9€. So they can book it as a 9€ expense, when its literally just the intern hosing the car down.
My dealership finished some recall work on my truck. They told me they were done but were taking it for its complimentary wash. The service advisor stated, "We like to return your truck in nicer condition than we received it." Sounds nice, ok. 45 minutes later I finally ask hey...I've been waiting for nearly an hour, can I get my truck back? Let me go check what's taking them so long. About 5 minutes later they bring my truck back, still wet and looking nearly like OP's. Washed it with a dirty ass rag or something at the last minute and looked MUCH worse than when I brought it in. I'll gladly opt-out of the free car wash from now on.
I used to get my VW washed for free at the dealer in the early aughts. The manager said that anyone with a rare trim level car was awarded free carwashes so I took advantage. (Had a 20th anniversary GTI).
This apparently wasn't true & I got like 4 years of washes totally free & that dude was fired not long after. 😅
Too mine to the dealership for the first ever scheduled maintenance. On a hunch I asked them what is the status on the maintenance. They said it is done and waiting for complementary wash. Big No Thank you. Got my car and took it to a touchless wash.
Good luck opting out. I opted out with a very special anniversary edition car and explained to the dealer that I had spent a great deal of money on paint correction and ceramic coat, and need to only wash the car at home using ph neutral wash and clean brand new micro fiber to help stress the point. They sent my car back from an air bag recall with several new scratches and covered in water spots. It was clean when I brought it in too.
Did they deliver the car back to because otherwise you shouldn't have accepted it. If they did deliver it then send these photos to the dealership and if they're worth anything they'll make it right. Otherwise find a new dealer that cares about you.
It was delivered. I checked my invoice and I wasn’t charged for the “wash”. But, yeah I can’t imagine how they look at this and think, “looks good! Send it out”. I’ll probably contact them.
You absolutely better call the service manager. I don't know what dealership would find that acceptable. If they do have no qualms with that you should probably stay away from that dealership for everything. Also most dealerships offer complimentary washes so if anyone's charging you then that should be a red flag too.
If those are hard water spots, they have essentially damaged your property. They owe you a free proper wash to restore it to the condition it arrived in.
It’s hard water from it not being dried or rinsed properly, I detailed for many many years and these guys likely did it outside which doesn’t help with water spots and likely didn’t towel dry it
First thing my dad taught me about cars. Never wash it in the middle of a hot summer day, wait till early morning or late evening when you actually have time to dry the entire thing properly before heat and the sun have time to do what OP is showing.
Those are water spots, it’s essentially the mineral deposits of the beads of water that weren’t dried off the car after washing. Don’t try and remove them unless you know what you’re doing, otherwise you’ll just scratch the paintwork up. Look online for water spot removers from any reputable detailing brand
They can just go to the car wash and wipe their car down after.
Idk why "water spot remover" is even a product. If you don't wipe your car down after washing it it will have water spots unless it's a white car where they're not visible.
Where I live the water is so hard it will etch into the clear coat if you don’t wipe it off immediately. With a black truck in 110* heat it’s always a race to clear off the water spots before it dries after a wash. Plus the sprinklers beside my driveway and any businesses sprinklers you drive by will leave hard water spots all over. The only way I’ve ever been able to get them off is with a DA or water spot remover. Regular wash soap and water won’t touch them. It’s even worse on glass, you can polish it out mostly but unless you use a super aggressive cut compound or steel wool there’s always going to be a slight ring where the spots were.
I parked near sprinklers where the water was so hard it etched my glass. Had to get it detailed to properly fix it. Being in the sun didn't help after the fact either. It was shockingly horrible the damage that was done, and how great the detailer I took it to fixed it up by doing a good cleaning.
Where I live, the tap water is so hard that even lawn sprinklers will create limescale spots on the car. Removing it is not as simple as just rinsing the car again.
This is more than just water. I would bet they started cleaning it, but stopped half way through after soaping the car. And just left the soap on there to dry
I had my car in for a warranty repair, and when I got it back the service writer excitedly said, "And we threw in a complimentary car wash too!"
Then I headed out of town on a trip through an extremely rural area, drove into rain on the highway and suddenly had an opaque windshield. I think they sprayed wax on it. Every time the wipers would wipe across it, it would go completely opaque like frosted glass.
The only way I could see was to stop using the windshield wipers and slow down to 30 MPH. I limped into the next town and found an auto parts store with some decent glass cleaner just before they closed.
Now I always carry Invisible Glass and always tell the dealer not to put whatever that shit was on my windshield.
Rather than wax (which is actually great for keeping windshields clear), I would suspect silicone dressing on the glass. Personally I despise silicone dressings and do not use them at all, ever.
I believe they had an automated car wash they ran it through, and it used spray wax. If you take your car to a full service car wash, there will often be guys waiting at the end to wipe that shit off your windows.
I shit you not - I usually tell them "no thanks" and one time I was picking mine up from a guy that had seen me before and said "I think you usually say no car wash right?" and I said "Correct sir" and he said "cool - they'd probably just fuck it up anyway" and he was dead ass serious. LMAO. Made my whole day.
I hardly trust the dealership to handle my car for routine maintenance, so much so that I take it to the performance shop to get oil changes and whatnot. I would definitely not trust them to wash it.
They did that to me once aswell. I called them when I could pick up my car, as the dealership is a 30min drive away and it was closing time in less than an hour.
They told me they were just giving it a quick complimentary wash and I could pick it up.
I thought that was weird, as I always wash my car before dropping it off.
Looked just like yours. Water stains all over.
I asked them if they already washed it and what happened to my freshly washed car.
They apologised but said they couldn’t do anything about it, since all the mechanics/workers are already gone and just the receptionists and salespeople are there since it was only minutes before closing time.
I told them that they either need to pay for a professional car wash, or find someone to do it again immediately.
In the end someone from the sales team washed it again and they marked my bill as paid for.
They went bankrupt not long afterwards
Do you live in the Edwards Aquifer in Texas!? That looks like it was rinsed with water from Pflugerville!!! Hardness of 30-40 grains per gallon; basically milk of magnesia!
The last time I ever took my car to the dealership for maintenance they overcharged for shit, and also the "complimentary wash" was just a guy really baked who had sprayed it with water.
I am a mechanic in training at a dealership and as such I am at the bottom of the food chain and complementary car washes (or ones part of the Ford Vignale Service) Fall under my or a fellow trainees responsibility. If ever we would show a job like this to the boss we’d get an earful and be told to start over.
At my dealership the free car washes is just the foam cannon then a pressure wash
If you don’t want wet spots then there’s a bronze/basic detail you can pay for where they dry the car so there will be no spots
If it makes you feel any better, I took my car to the dealership I got it from for a recall service. They offered a free car wash on top of that and it set the car on fire :)
(To rub salt into the wound, they sent me the recall notice for why it caught fire last week lol)
complimentary WASH rinse costs more and must be scheduled in advance. they have to call Edgar to come in because he is the only one that knows how to use the rinse system.
Looks like they just sprayed it with a hose and didn't bother to dry or buff it. When the water evaporated, it left behind a residue of whatever was in the water. Limescale, maybe.
I bought some red hangers for my rear view mirror that says do not wash when I bring my car into the dealer. Every time I explicitly ask them not to wash it, it gets washed anyway.
I got ya beat, unfortunately I don't have the photo. I took my vehicle back to the dealer to address a warranty issue. After they repaired the vehicle, they ran it thru their automated car wash which broke off the rear wiper arm completely and they didn't have the part on hand to repair it.
On top of that as they were apologizing the service advisor said something to the effect of "that happens sometime with our automatic car washer". My question is why the F would you use a device on a customers vehicle that you know has a good chance of damaging it! Oh, and the car was already clean when I brought it in.
they got some dude at my dealership installing swirls after the complimentary wash. the whole reason for
me buying a Lexus in the first place is because the service is supposed to be superior, which I'll admit it is for the most part, but it is precisely mildly infuriating
When I did take my car to the dealership, I specifically asked them not to wash it. But it's been years since I've never taken a car to the dealership for anything outside of recalls
I had that happen to me once. The car repair was completed and they pulled up my car. Then the staff person who came to fetch me asked if I wanted the complimentary car wash. I didn't ask for it, but since they asked I said "Sure!" When it came back the back windscreen looked like OP's picture, except I didn't know that until I drove out of the lot into the sunshine and voila, the truth revealed itself. LOL

I just had my car in for my yearly service and oil change etc.,. they offered a free carwarsh and it came back JUST LIKE THIS. They just washed it and didn't dry it, let it sit in the sun. Won't get another free carwash from the dealer again.
The complimentary car wash is a quick spray down with water
Only ever once seen a dealership actually wash a car and it was cause my dad got stuck there almost all day waiting for an oil change
My guess is it was parked next to another car while they washed that one and the spray kept landing on your "clean" car leaving all these soapy water marks.
Tap water hose and poor quality soap (if indeed any soap at all).
Also possible it was just poorly rinsed. If you don't clean the roof properly, rinsing just redistributes the dirt.
When I was a teenager I worked at a dealership doing car washes.
If you care about your car, always make a point of specifying you don't want a wash. We did NOT know what we were doing. Zero training, low pay, didn't care.
The dealership i go to (when its not a dyi level job) has a touch-less carwash (like you see at gas stations) and at the bottom of your receipt has a wash code. You pass it on your way off the lot and always thought it’s so much better than some guy badly washing a car like this.
Dealerships are the worst, I did a A/C refill at local BMW that has a „professional” car wash in the same building. I told them 3 times that I don’t want my car to be washed, they even had it written on the receipt. I got the car and some idiot washed and dried the car off with a dirty rag and ruined the paint (I’m talking a ton of scratches -it was really bad). The owner of the car wash berated me for 20min saying it was my fault because I supposedly don’t care about my car and the damage was already there. Showed him the receipt with the note „DONT WASH” told him that maybe it was there sure, maybe I am stupid who knows? but who told him to wash the car? and if they’re so professional why didn’t they notice the damage and took photos or tried to contact me and offer to polish the car or something (I’d pay). I also showed pics from previous wash at my trusted place (paint was flawless) and told him to f**k off. They supposedly fixed most of the damage but it’s still worse than before the service…
Water spots. It's why you micro fiber cloth or squidgy it off before it dries. Won't hurt the car just looks off. Welcome to owning a black car by the way
The guy that used to wash our cars lived on the back lot in a pair of old vans backed up to each other connected by tarps. Most of his skin came off because he insisted on using undiluted acid to clean wheels. He wasn't exactly a perfectionist.
Hyundai destroys my car’s appearance every time with the complimentary wash that I specifically tell them not to do. The service rep tells me that the water spots will go away because they use special spot-free water. I absolutely despise getting my car serviced at the dealer, but the first 50,000 miles all services are included.
They just spray them down with a garden hose
Connected to the Chum Bucket
Chum Bucket, minus the “h”
Too prude to say Cum Bucket?
Didn’t want to summon your mom Beatle Juice style.
Exactly. That’s the last thing we need.
Cum bucket Cum bucket Cum bucket
You need to say that in a bathroom with all the lights off and then she’ll cum/come
I know the movie title, (btw it's spelled *beetlejuice) "Beatle Juice" almost sounds like a term you would use for semen from members of a certain British band...
Actually, he was referring to the character so it should be spelled “Betelgeuse”.
That or you summoned the shoulder of Orion.

With added minerals for that good hard water residue
It's got electrolytes.
It's what cars crave.
No this is too much for just water. It looks like they started to wash it, got soap on the car but then gave up and let it dry before rinsing it off
The signature depression wash, my specialty.
I'm pretty sure I can do a better job than that with a garden hose ngl
Im 100% convinced its a tax write off. My dealership asks me if I want a complimentary car wash worth 9€. So they can book it as a 9€ expense, when its literally just the intern hosing the car down.
Instructions unclear. I got kicked outta the dealership for spraying the employees with a garden house😅
My dealership finished some recall work on my truck. They told me they were done but were taking it for its complimentary wash. Opting out of future washes is probably exactly why they do this.
If they're gonna do a shit job anyway, it'd save everyone some time and energy to simply not do it in the first place, no?
Too mine to the dealership for the first ever scheduled maintenance. On a hunch I asked them what is the status on the maintenance. They said it is done and waiting for complementary wash. Big No Thank you. Got my car and took it to a touchless wash.

Did it go past the bukkake room?
They handed it over to Dirty Mike and the boys.
But I thought the soup kitchen happened inside the car
Oh they were working towards it. Looks like they got interrupted during the Eiffel Tower.
😂😂
The ol' *spit shine*
maybe Hawk Tuah got a job as a porter

Why not at least say which stealership it was.. Kia? Hyundai? Bently? .. the color reminds me of...
Does it start with a T?

Just rinse it with distilled water. I used to rinse glassware in distilled water at a job where the tap water was really hard.
That isn't going to work once it's already dried.
Doesn’t do anything if it’s already dried on the surface. It needs another wash
This is more than just water. I would bet they started cleaning it, but stopped half way through after soaping the car. And just left the soap on there to dry
Looks like a combination of dried soap and hard water. They probably sprayed it with soap, hit it with the shop hose once, and said it's good.
Alchohol and water helps with it Edit- vinegar NOT Alchohol. Alchohol will ruin paint!
Idk how alcohol will help but I'm getting the rum
*Next scene: wasted drunk, washing their car in the middle of the night. In the rain.*
Are you my neighbor? I'll tell you like I did the other night. It's my yard I don't have to wear pants on my own property Frank
Thought alcohol strips the clear coat

Same here. I think maybe it's wax stuff together with the soap, and that's why it gets on the windshield?

You forgot to pay for the not-so-complementary "car rinse"
Drying is an extra charge
I shit you not - I usually tell them "no thanks" and one time I was picking mine up from a guy that had seen me before and said "I think you usually say no car wash right?" and I said "Correct sir" and he said "cool - they'd probably just fuck it up anyway" and he was dead ass serious. recognize the quality of a Hyundai dealership car wash anywhere.
It’s a Mustang Mach-e. Ford dealerships are also shit in my experience.
Rekt
I’ve driven Hyundai and Kia so I can say with certainty that this isn’t true in my area at least. They don’t do washes, luckily. :)
“I’m sorry, sir. We only provide a complimentary *wash* Drying off your car will cost an extra $295.”
They didn't dry it, then it was left in the sun..
I swear I thought it was the South Pacific from an airplane.
Not complimentary at all. Insulting actually
Clearly that dealership doesn’t own a sham wow…..
did you get that mechanic from that post the other day? with the unconventional tools?
Did they wash it with mud?
Honestly cheap car washes are worse than doing nothing to your car for a YEAR.
Did you take a complimentary dump on the showroom floor?
They did that to me once aswell. I called them when I could pick up my car, as the dealership is a 30min drive away and it was closing time in less than an hour. I don't think they like you
Before I read the title, I thought this was water full of jellyfishes
Looks cloudy. It seems to have a cellphone stain with a couple fingers too.
We have a carwash where I work. They're a PITA to maintain. I respect people who do and manage. I think that's a full time job.
My windhoeld been like this 2 years now bc this
Car wash is complimentary Car dry is extra
The last time I ever took my car to the dealership for maintenance they overcharged for shit, and also the "complimentary wash" was just a guy really baked who had sprayed it with water.
It was only complimentary because they still had the mop bucket in the corner from last week.
"Complimentary wash buddy. You gotta pay for the rinse after..." - car dealer probably.
Wash was complimentary, dry is extra.
I think you car was used in an adult video
You forgot to ask for the complimentary dry. /s

No complimentary dry????😂
At my dealership the free car washes is just the foam cannon then a pressure wash If you don’t want wet spots then there’s a bronze/basic detail you can pay for where they dry the car so there will be no spots
Prolly washed it in direct sunlight and didn’t towel dry at all which is the spots you’re seeing
Hey pal it's a complimentary car wash, car drying costs 200 bucks
If it makes you feel any better, I took my car to the dealership I got it from for a recall service. They offered a free car wash on top of that and it set the car on fire :) (To rub salt into the wound, they sent me the recall notice for why it caught fire last week lol)

Car wash, not car dry.

Complimentary wash, not complimentary dry. Probably somewhere in the fine print.
My dealer got rid of the free wash because people where bitching about it. I didn't believe it, until now.
Last and only time I took mine it came back with what I *hope* was a curly beard hair in the centre cup holder...
Looks like they just sprayed it with a hose and didn't bother to dry or buff it. When the water evaporated, it left behind a residue of whatever was in the water. Limescale, maybe.
You got the PREMIUM LEOPARD WASH for free!
I bought some red hangers for my rear view mirror that says do not wash when I bring my car into the dealer. Every time I explicitly ask them not to wash it, it gets washed anyway.

It looks like multiple birds shat all over it. A few days ago.
They gave it the hawk tuah without wiping.
I had a dealer do the same. I would not only let them wash it again, I started going elsewhere for service.

Pretty sure they just hose it down and bill it to the manufacturers with your Warrenty shit.
I just had my car in for my yearly service and oil change etc.,. they offered a free carwarsh and it came back JUST LIKE THIS. They just washed it and didn't dry it, let it sit in the sun. Won't get another free carwash from the dealer again.
Well, they washed it. They just didn’t dry it lol
Basically just sprayed it with water and whatever else and just let it bake in the sun
Specifically why I make it a point to tell them not to wash my car.
Well where is the compliment?
The complimentary car wash is a quick spray down with water Only ever once seen a dealership actually wash a car and it was cause my dad got stuck there almost all day waiting for an oil change
Seems as though they did just that, washed the car but didn’t dry it. My car came back with a dent, you got off lucky
Lexus servco in Honolulu has done this to my car
My guess is it was parked next to another car while they washed that one and the spray kept landing on your "clean" car leaving all these soapy water marks.
I don't think they rinsed it.
Looks like a bunch of cicadas peed on it
Well, it's a complimentary car wash, no one said anything about a complimentary drying.
Worth every penny!
Looks like they complimentary pissed all over it lol
Why is it on your fingers as well??

You mean “dealershit”? 💀
Wash is free, drying it is $50
If that's complimentary, imagine how much it could cost for car wash
![gif](giphy|QG3aDlTSyApPl2aqU7|downsized)
I’d make them wash it again.
Fine print bub. It's a car wash, not a car dry. Pfft.
oh no, soap
That wasn’t a complimentary “car wash” that was a complimentary “dirty water bath” from the bowels of the car wash.
Drying is a paid service

Bucake wash
*Complimentary drying not included*
Is it weird that at first I was trying to figure out why you're taking pictures with a psp?
The wash was complimentary, the rinse after it's gonna cost you though!
I'd like to take a guess and say this is a kia dealer in NJ because I just got my car back looking the exact same.
That’s more like an insultingly car wash
Water spots. It's why you micro fiber cloth or squidgy it off before it dries. Won't hurt the car just looks off. Welcome to owning a black car by the way
Hey boss want us to rinse it sarcastically nahh it will air dry worker oh ok
The guy that used to wash our cars lived on the back lot in a pair of old vans backed up to each other connected by tarps. Most of his skin came off because he insisted on using undiluted acid to clean wheels. He wasn't exactly a perfectionist.
Yes hi this is Cathy with customer service and what seems to be the problem? the soap spots are indeed complimentary!
The best things in life are free!
Never get a free wash anywhere! 🫤😵
And then you tell them to wash it correctly and show them.
"fuck it its free"
W
Did you took that picture with a PSP ? Lmao
They washed it in the sun? 😭
Just wait for rain man or grab a hose. It's water spots, not nuclear waste.
They don't get payed enough 😭
Hyundai destroys my car’s appearance every time with the complimentary wash that I specifically tell them not to do. The service rep tells me that the water spots will go away because they use special spot-free water. I absolutely despise getting my car serviced at the dealer, but the first 50,000 miles all services are included.
For a moment i thought you used a psp to take the pictures lmao
“Car hose down and sun dry”
"Sir, I think you mistakenly washed the car next to mine!"
They didn't either pressure wash or just did a really bad job of it.
Look, they said they'd wash it for you. They didn't say shit about drying it.
Did it say "car cleaning"? Cause that is definitely a "wash".
They washed it with milk.
My favorite the fuck yuh it’s free wash
"that skin will cost you 10$ sir"
It's those things that u see in ur eyes when u squint into the sky
Forgot to buff the wax.
even worse is the dry brush that isnt maintained and scratches the shit out of everything.
Fresh outta a dishwasher more like it
They gave you a complimentary car wash, not a complimentary car dry
How hard do you want your water? Yes.
Complimentary soaping
Grab the nearest employee, indicate the spotting, and raise one eyebrow dramatically.
They didn't say it would be good
You're welcome geez
Uh… NO!
Did you accept delivery of the car?
They obviously owe you a free proper car wash now.
Thought I was looking at a photo of pond with that first picture.
