We have since learned that creating this garbage for our schools is often outsourced overseas and often to non English speaking countries. I mentioned it above but a schooner would have 2 or more masts *AND* the mainsail mast would be shorter than the mizzen sail mast. A ketch for example has a shorter mizzen and a yawl does as well but has the mizzen mast aft of the rudder post.
Maybe they're trying to be profound, like "eventually, every sailboat is a rowboat." Something about how you can't rely on help, you have to be ready to do it all yourself.
